  1. Roethlisberger's knee is terrible, Connor isn't healthy either. A week off is exactly what they need right now. I hear what you are saying about momentum and all that but they need the rest more than anything.
  2. 11/18/07 New England 56 Buffalo 10. Never forget. Sweep the leg. #WelcomeToTheNewNormal
  3. I wanna see what happens with Fields when he's in a bad situation that he can't walk away from. Decommited from Penn State, transferred out of Georgia when he didn't win the job, now he's going to be stuck on a bad team or sitting behind a veteran.
  4. My argument is that in many cases sentencing guidelines have been revised upwards in the last 30 years with very little to show for it other than exponential expenditure in corrections. It's incredibly expensive to incarcerate people and anything you can do to keep as many lower level offenders out of prison is beneficial for everyone involved. There is more to it than that but that is the gist.
  5. I'm aware of that. You don't think the union the correctional officers are part of does the same thing? So what then, life sentences or death penalty for everyone?
  6. The next time someone talks about the multiple motives behind incarcerating people remember this thread. Not everyone who goes to prison is a murdering psychopath. There are large, for profit, corporations that will be more than happy to run prisons for you. Those companies unabashedly lobby for longer sentencing guidelines because they are good for business.
  7. They do see it. They just choose to ignore it. Allen had his ankle destroyed and Smith got hurt as well otherwise Haskins never sees the field this year. Rivera made his opinion of the player pretty clear early on. They will be in the QB market again this off season and would have been even before the strip club BS.
  8. The Jets and Bears say hello. The Jaguars wanted to answer but they can't decide which terrible QB they want to raise his hand.
  9. They need to lose out to be in jeopardy iirc and they play Houston week 17
  10. Perfect way to start 2021. Putting the universe back into balance.
  11. They are big Browns fans for the next two weeks in most scenarios which is....awkward
  12. There is more to it than that, does Buffalo beat New England? What do Cleveland and Pittsburgh do? What does Tennessee do? This is what I'm saying. There are so many moving pieces that it's hard to pin down the specific results you want when one thing changes it changes a bunch of other things. This will be a futile exercise until Tuesday.
  13. Very much so. I'd really like the Giants to win tomorrow. I really really want to not play Baltimore or Tennessee first. I'll take anyone else.
  14. The Browns as of right now 1203am Sunday have zero wide receivers available for their game against the Jets.
  15. Problem with all of our scheming is we won't be able to control what goes on anywhere other than Buffalo and unless our game is the one they flex to nighttime we won't know what we want to happen to pick and choose opponents. Depending on what happens we could play Miami, Baltimore, Indy, Cleveland, Tennessee, or Pittsburgh. We will know more tomorrow and even more in Tuesday but we still won't know everything until after the Sunday night game which is probably going to be Steelers Browns You are correct. There are a LOT of ways where it ends up Baltimore.
  16. I hear you. It depends on how the rest of this weekend plays out. If winning helps us next week then we need to do that.
  17. It's not like he won't yank him if things are going sideways.
  18. As much as I want Baltimore out there's a decent opportunity for us to play Miami, Pittsburgh to play Baltimore, and Indy to play Tennessee. I'll take that. Go Green Bay tomorrow also. Perfect world, we get a good matchup and all of our bad matchups play each other so at least 2 get eliminated right away without us having to do anything.
  19. Maybe the Jets can help us out and put Cleveland on the brink
  20. I get what you are saying, but the choice was either making the dolphins score a TD or give them about 40 fewer seconds to kick a FG to beat you. No guarantee that they wouldnt have scored a TD either but playing the way they did to take a 2 point lead with the amount of time left didn't make sense.
  21. Being clever gets burned. Again. It's not like they were able to run it down to 5 seconds or something. Miami was going to get the ball back with a chance to do something needing only about 35/40 yards to have a shot at a long FG. Take. The. touchdown. On. 3rd. Down.
