Buffalo PD assault older gentleman, leave him to bleed
That's No Moon replied to Reed83HOF's topic in Off the Wall Archives
So detain him and move on. If they were fine leaving him lying on the ground with blood coming out of his ear then they would have been fine leaving him on the ground with his hands and legs zip tied for the trailing officers to pick up. This is also the danger of allowing the President or whoever else to come out and just label people. He states that he's going to declare Antifa to be a terrorist organization (I'm going to ignore that the Klu Klux Klan isn't even labeled as a terrorist organization and I'm also going to ignore that the laws are written specifically for FOREIGN terrorist organizations so as not to trample people's Constitutional rights which is WHY the Klan isn't listed). Then he insinuates that this person is an Antifa operative. Ergo the President of the United States just called this guy a terrorist. That guy. He's what we created anti-terrorism laws for? Read through some of what those laws entail and decide if that's what we want politicians on either side labeling their opposition (American citizens, with rights) and then having the full weight of the federal system behind them to back it up. FTO list and some explanation of what that designation means. -

He kinda did, just not in the way they like to think he did. -

Then Buffalo doesn't deserve him and I hope he walks if that's the way it's going to be. -
Still Taking a Vacation this Summer?

Went to the Outer Banks last week. It was empty. Probably going to Vermont in July. Going back to OBX in August. -

Grand island toll fine.

I believe I have heard that. It can out a car at a place at a time. Doesn't necessarily mean a person is driving without other evidence but they use it to piece together timelines or poke holes in alibis. -
I know it isn't, but it looks like Heather Graham

We had a plate mounted one on our Chevy Lumina APV in the early 90s because of the windshield angle. But again, not an insurmountable issue and something I think they are well aware of at this point. The stupid transponders worked well enough 25 years ago that we had to take it off and leave it in our mailbox when we wanted to take the car off the Island without my parents knowing about it. -

Yeah, I'll have used mine in MD, VA, NC and DE in the last week, all at some degree of speed up to 65mph and there will be no issues. I hear these nightmare stories and I don't know what to do other than shrug because I've never had any of the technical or customer service problems that people report. -

Had an ezpass when I lived on the Island pre 1995, very rare issues, easily fixed. Have had an EZ Pass in either PA, NJ or now Maryland (depending on which discount I want to use for a job or which roads I'm driving on most frequently) since I have lived in southeast PA. Very rare issues on Route 1 in Delaware at the ones where you drive through at speed but that was like 10 years ago now and easily solved even at the time. It's my understanding that the tag is tied to your plate and if the tag doesn't register it snaps a picture of the plate and they are able to reconcile the two. I had a tag go bad once and that happened, I got the call ezpass thing when I knew I had money on it and the battery in the tag had died. No fines. Not discounting your problems but I feel like we were some of the first people to get ezpass as Island residents and I've had one ever since, issued by 4 different states and have not had any of those ridiculous types of issues in more than 25 years of using it. -
Owners to vote on Extending EA exclusive License
That's No Moon replied to Warcodered's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is a contractual Monopoly granted by a cartel that is neither interested in fairness nor the quality of the product. Can they make more or less money by granting multiple licenses. That's the only question. 2k can make all the football games they want they just can't use the NFLs trademarks e.g. team names nor can they use the players names because the NFLPA has not signed off either. EA pays a premium for exclusivity and has for a long time. They have zero incentive to make the actual game better. If someone wanted to be a smartass I'd love to see a competing game with the teams the NFL has thrown aside or a USFL game. Someone owns the rights to that as well and you could have quite a few HoF players in it if you could get that agreement signed. Retro stuff is all the rage. Have a whole retrofootball game and have the WFL, USFL and XFL. Go for it. -
A sign that this is the Bills year

8", 5 1/4", or 3 1/2"? Might wanna back it up on a reel to reel to be safe. Perhaps a series of punch cards? How about the "At Last We Can Dance" -
Flacco to the Jets on a one year deal...
That's No Moon replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Depends on his demeanor. He's never handled the concept of being a backup well before. He transferred out of Pitt rather than be a backup, there were rumblings about issues between him and Lamar Jackson in Baltimore and he made comments about it not being his job to develop Drew Lock in Denver. If he has embraced his current place in the league and is willing to help Darnold in the QB room that's a good pickup for a team that lost games because of their terrible backup QBs last year. If he's there to vulture a starting spot and sow the seeds of discontent in the locker room when Darnold struggles then it's not a good move to have him there with the kid. -
It should, but they've made an onside kick pretty much impossible to recover these days so there should be some other option now. The thing that might need some tweaking is what happens on penalties. On an onside kick it's virtually impossible for the receiving team to get a penalty that would result in the kicking team getting the ball. On a 4th and 15 there are lots and lots of things that can happen to get a free first down or even something like an offside penalty would then make it 4th and 10. Given that the play is almost certain to be a pass, DPI, holding, hitting a defenseless receiver and roughing the QB all come to mind and we've all seen really lousy calls made in all of those areas.

I'm sure it violates the terms of service for the hotel so you probably can't. Another way to do it would be to rent out apartments and houses from people then turn around and re-rent them at a higher rate. Again, that's usually against terms of service for things like airbnb so it would take an absolute load of work for a low payout for something that is marginally legal. You'd be better off putting a grand on the Bills at the current odds (28/1) and saving yourself the hassle. -edit- apparently it is legal to resell a hotel reservation and there are companies that do it and then take a cut though one of those companies just went out of business because of the current travel situation. Who knew? It's still a wildly stupid idea to do something like this on the off chance that the Bills win the Super Bowl.
-
I assumed that's what you were doing but I don't think a publicly traded company with be impacted by who wins the Super Bowl. Publicly traded companies are impacted by sales and revenue not whether or not their employees are happy so unless you think the Bills winning a Super Bowl will cause people to buy more Fords or GMs or bank harder with local banks I don't think it will make much difference. Publicly traded things are also big enough that the impact is spread out over more of the country so if the Bills win sure there will be some people who are excited there will be another fan base in a city with some level of diaspora who are sad. Something like BWW could benefit from the diaspora of Bills fans going to their restaurants for the playoffs but even that would only be or 2 or 3 total days and they already sell an absolute crap load of wings during the NFL playoffs so improving year over year sales is hard to do. If one were really of a mind to do something like this one way could be in getting blocks of hotel rooms downtown for the week after the game in anticipation of a parade and the selling those rooms to out of towners who will flock back for said parade. I don't know that the hotel will be keen on this and it's a massive gamble on your part (not so much of an investment) but there's a way I see to make some scratch. FWIW add sofa manufacturers to the list because I think quite a few will go up in flames that night.

Went to Susquehanna State Park in Maryland the other day and saw a bunch of herons and a couple bald eagles. Not quite my backyard, but close enough. I used to have a feeder in the yard but the deer got ridiculous and would just destroy it to get whatever I put inside

Well, once you get to DE it's DE route 1 south either to us 13 past Dover or us 113. I prefer 113 because it has fewer lights and rejoins 13 at pocomoke city, md. Both ways suck on Friday and Saturday and the opposite direction on Sunday. Once you are in that area there really aren't a lot of ways to get around the traffic and it's the primary way to the de beaches and ocean city md from the entire east coast. Traffic can be truly ugly. Anyway, Then you take 13 all the way down and across the Bay Bridge to 64, 64 to VA 168, VA 168 to US 158 158 across to Kitty Hawk to NC 12. Traffic on 158 and 12 can also be ugly because, again, there are no alternate routes to speak of. The best you can do is time your trip so as not to arrive from 10am to 6pm on Saturday. That's the worst. Several mile backups before you cross to Kitty Hawk then stop and go traffic for 10 miles to Duck. Once you pass Duck it's ok to Corolla but getting to Duck is abysmal at that time. I haven't gone Further south so I can't comment about that if you are going to Nags Head or Hatteras. Given that onions pay most of the bills in my house im going to have to disagree with you there. Does Miracle Whip qualify as food? It's edible, but that doesn't make it food.

It is wildly unpopular but I'm with you on this. There are bad people in the military just like everywhere else and deifying people who put on a uniform has dangerous consequences. Do not misinterpret, my family has a strong history of service and I appreciate it but serving does not grant you super citizen status. You are just like the rest of us with the same rights as the rest of us.
