  1. The same Gore who apparently felt underutilized and said, out loud, that he'd have had 1k yards last year if the Bills would have given him the ball?
  2. If you never call, you don't know what it costs. Calling about a player doesn't cost you a thing. Who knows, maybe the Saints really want to move Kamara because his knee isn't up to snuff from last year and they'd rather take what they can get right now based off his higher perceived value from last season before he comes out this season and looks rickety. Wouldn't be the first or the last RB to have that happen. Maybe Kamara isn't really on the market at all and it's about a contract thing but if you don't call you don't know. I agree entirely. Hugely overrated by folks on this board. The line's inability to block in big moments was a massive problem in Houston.
  3. Given that you can lose a back pretty much whenever in 2020 I'd say yeah, this us the year of all years to have the deepest backfield in the league. He's better than Yeldon, has more than half a season of experience in the league, and that makes the Bills a better, more dangerous team. Add that he can be had on a 1 year, minimal risk, deal and it makes it a fairly simple conversation for me. Moss MIGHT be able to do what Fournette does in terms of running between the tackles and also catching the ball but Fournette is more of a proven quantity at this level in that regard. As for being a "culture" guy. We have bemoaned for seemingly a millenia the Patriots ability to bring in players that others didn't want, pay virtually nothing for them, and get excellent performances out of them without having locker room chaos. If you have a strong locker room culture you can do that. if McD and Beane really believe they have built something like that then you can have a LF in the room and it won't be a problem. The other benefit is that when you have a minimal investment in the player you can drop them if it's not working out either on the field or in the locker room. He wasn't OUR 1st round pick. We have no sunk cost in his development. He won't be making 4 million dollars with us. If he's an issue you cut bait. It's not that complex.
  4. The #BillsMafia hashtag kills people? That's what that response was about.
  5. Ehhhhhhh, I don't think so. For something like this there needs to be a level of deterrance for grossly negligent and stupid behavior otherwise the behavior will become more common place as people say "I know what I'm doing, it'll be fine." Not many people have jetpacks but plenty of people have big drones. By your logic a person could drive 100mph the wrong way down the freeway and not get a ticket so long as they don't hurt anybody.
  6. Well, it's probably because in Lee Smith's entire career he's been a blocking only TE that commits a lot of penalties and people see a ham sandwich as an upgrade over that. I don't know if Gilliam can block like Smith, but I know he's faster, younger, cheaper with significantly more upside. FWIW, he may not be taking Smith's spot either. I think they like Sweeney for that at some point but Tyler Kroft is very expensive and very often broken. If they feel that Knox, Sweeney, Smith and Gilliam gives them a better mix than with Kroft than they do that.
  7. “...if the old Emperor had been surreptitiouslySmothered; that same crowd in a moment would have hailed Their new Augustus. They shed their sense of responsibility Long ago, when they lost their votes, and the bribes; the mob That used to grant power, high office, the legions, everything,Curtails its desires, and reveals its anxiety for two things only, Bread and circuses. ‘I hear that many will perish.’ ‘No doubt, The furnace is huge.'”
  8. Agreed. I'd love for these people to meet their great-great grandparents who would smack the mess out of them. It's not really my thing either but c'mon man. Let the kids have their fun.
  9. Again, in other news people don't want to hear, rushing vaccines isn't a good idea. It has been done in the past and there have been significant problems. When I have friends in big pharma telling me to my face that they wouldn't rush to the front of the line for these it doesn't inspire a lot of confidence and I'm a fully pro-vaccination person.
  10. When I think of Bills tailgating, images of responsible behavior immediately come to mind.... What could happen is you could see a drive in theatre pay for the rights to show it and try to do something that way but even with that there will be significant rules and those rights ain't cheap.
  11. Delaware has had problems at the beaches most of the summer and the bars and restaurants are 50/50 to be open at best. Minimally there is a Greene Turtle in Rehoboth that, if open with indoor seating, will probably have it. With any of these places you are really going to need to call ahead and getting in with capacity reductions could be an issue if we are on the same time as the Eagles, Steelers and/or Ravens.
  12. Is it still American muscle when the cars are assembled in Brampton, ON, most of the engines come from Mexico and the transmissions on the Hellcats come from Germany?
  13. Gerald Ford
  14. I forgot TJ Yeldon existed before this thread.
  15. On another note, when do you think they are going to start paring down the roster? You wouldn't think they'd want the extra bodies around during game week prep, or maybe they would as covid insurance. I dunno. They don't have to cut anyone until September 5 but I think moves might start in dribs and drabs sooner than that.
  16. And it's going to be a strange draft with little or no 2020 tape on guys. That means valuations are going to be all over the place and there are likely going to many many more high pick misses and low pick steals. For example, if Joe Burrow was drafted without his 2019 season there is no chance he's #1 overall pick. He'd have gone several rounds lower. It's a gamble, but if you trust your talent evaluation staff getting a bunch of mid level picks in 2021 could be very fruitful.
  17. He missed 4 kicks under 50 yards when you count the extra points he missed. And kicking FGs over 50 yards is a necessary part of being a kicker in 2020, you can't just ignore that. Haushcka missed 8 kicks last year in total. 2 XPs, 2 FGs under 50, 4 FGs over 50. So if Bass comes in and misses 3 FGs under 50 no XP and makes more than the 1 50+ FG Haushcka made you want to consider that a win for yourself even though its a better actual performance. And not for nothing, if Bass is terrible you can always sign a different kicker....like Stephen Haushcka.
  18. Hauschka missed an XP today. Let's not pretend he has been automatic for the last two years. Yes he kicked well in the playoff game. He also kicked really poorly in a couple games that cost them.
  19. So does this mean that Edelman tried to stab Newton today?
  20. If you want to keep having these movies that's fine but they should at least build in each other in some sort of meaningful way not just reboot the whole thing every couple years after a bad movie came out or an actor got too old to do the part. Marvel did a nice job having a whole bunch of movies all connected together that all together told a story. DC has been terrible at that save a couple good individual movies here and there. They started to get on the right track with the Justice League thing even though it wasn't very good. Maybe it will turn out ok but the idea of trying to force all the previous Batman things together into a multiverse doesn't seem like it will go well. So now you'll have Wonder Woman who not only transcends time, she transcends time in multiple universes? Are Heath Ledger Joker and Jared Leto Joker in the same universe or different ones? And yes I know there are a million crossover comics and thousands of stories told in those comics but they all follow a fairly long arc. Doing this over and over again feels like a skipping record rather than following an actual arc from beginning to middle to end where the next Batman becomes Batman at the end of the previous Batman not back at the start again. Same thing with Superman. Stop starting over from the beginning and just follow a story arc.
  21. I know right? Doesn't it feel like they are just completely out of ideas? Isn't it about time for another stab at Fantastic Four?
