Caffeine - America’s #1 addiction - what’s your source?
That's No Moon replied to BuffaloBill's topic in Off the Wall
None. I went cold turkey on a vacation a couple years ago and never went back. I sleep so much better and I don't get random tachycardia anymore. The vacation was a week at a beach house and I only drank beer and water for the whole week. The beer dealt with the withdrawal headaches and the water dealt with the beer. It was a solid strategy IMHO and it worked. Now that I'm off it I have no desire to get back on nor any cravings for it like I'd have before. Going on four years now I think. -
The very north of PA would love to have you. Nobody lives there and the population is shrinking all the time. All of Potter County has less than 17k people and has a population density of 16 people per square mile. Erie County, NY is over 900/square mile I live in SEPA now and I generally like it. It's far enough north that it doesn't get blazing hot and it's far enough south and close enough to the ocean that it doesn't get super cold either. I'm in Southern Chester County about 45 miles from Philly and if you go a little further out towards Maryland it gets cheaper. There are lots of retirees in this part of PA and the tax structure is favorable for retirees. Southern Delaware is pretty cheap and is fairly close to the beach. It's very rural, lots and lots of farms and not a lot else but if that's what you are looking for then the weather is generally pretty good and the overall DE tax situation is generally more favorable than NY. But it's worse for retirees than PA and the state income tax is the highest in the country. Property taxes are low. I guess it depends on what you want and why you are leaving NY. I wouldn't live in Florida for free and the parts of GA and NC I'd want to live in aren't cheap. My wife's company is based in Toombs County, GA and it's also super rural. Houses I'd want to live in if we moved there aren't a whole lot cheaper than the houses in my current area. Taxes are considerably less but there is also a distinct difference in what you get from the area. Where we live now is moderately rural but there are enough people with enough money around that there are quite a lot of good restaurants to eat at and a lot of things to do. In that part of GA, the restaurant situation is bleak and there isn't even a decent grocery store, just the Wal-Mart. For quality of life that would be important to me. I like to have a good meal at a good restaurant or be able to cook a good meal at my house with good ingredients. I like to be able to choose from multiple kinds of food. I like to have the option to do a multitude of things in a relatively short drive from my house. From Toombs County, to get a decent meal, you need to drive to Savannah which is 90 minutes away. Where I live now I have all of that at my fingertips and I don't have to deal with a city unless I want to. For me, that's perfect. It's dark and quiet where I live, my kids go to a good school, my property taxes are tolerable, I can have a peaceful day every day if I want to or I can be anywhere from NY to Washington, I can be at the beach in either NJ, DE or MD, or I can be in the mountains all under 2.5 hours depending on which direction I choose to drive. We've talked about relocating several times and lord knows the company would like us to move to GA. While the taxes would be less, we'd have to pay for private school because those cheaper taxes very much come at the expense of the local school district and there are a host of other lifestyle and quality of life issues that would crop up if we moved there. All added together it's not worth it so we stay where we are and my wife works remotely and flies down there 5 or 6 weeks a year. I guess what I'm saying is the places in this country that are cheap are cheap for a reason. Find out what that reason is and make sure you can tolerate it before you commit yourself to living there.

Add this is how to defend rpo. Just whack the QB until they stop doing it. It won't take long.

Brian Daboll deserves a lot of credit today.

It would be much worse if Allen went down and he had significantly more time today along with consistent escape lanes. Sign another backup center. -

They were forced to put their best OL on the field when Boettger went down so that was a plus. IDK why they won't play Bates normally and it was clear that Dawkins was fine to play so again IDK why we didn't just start the game that way. The 5 they had on the field to end the game today need to be the starting 5 from here out, fingers crossed for health. Re: the WRs being out and McKenzie, there is such thing as having too many mouths to feed. Adding Sanders created a math problem in that you really can't have everyone on the field at the same time. Sanders doesn't do some of the things that Davis and McKenzie do and he hasn't added a lot to the downfield aspect of the offense either. I don't think it's a coincidence that Sanders being out and limited since the second half at Tampa has freed up some of the offense and forced Daboll to play some guys with more flexibility than Sanders has. When everyone is healthy, he might be one of our most talented WRs, but the offense's production has been better and more well rounded with him either not on the field or not getting a lot of targets. When a player like McKenzie is on the field all the time, or at least a lot more, it's harder for the defense to key on his presence. When he's only on the field when they are trying to get him the ball it's much easier to key off of. We play 3WRs a lot of the time. For me our most effective 3 is Diggs, Davis, and McKenzie. It gives you 3 guys who test defenses in different ways and they give you the most options on what to do on each play without subbing or being obvious, particularly when you add Knox to the mix. When you go 4WR then it's a bit of a coin flip between Beasley and Sanders but to go 4WR you are taking Knox or the back off. Is that improvement? McKenzie isn't as reliable as Beasley catching the ball or going into ugly places but Beasley also doesn't do all of the other things that McKenzie does well either so it's a matter of choosing what you want to have on the field. As I said, when McKenzie is on the field a lot it's harder to key on stopping his specific plays. When Beasley comes on you know what he's going to be doing anyway (sitting down shallow in zones) so it's not really tipping off stuff in the same way. -
The state released the Pegulas report today with their permission. I scanned through it. What I found interesting is that the site scores in big pretty charts don't match the site scores and conclusions at the end of the report. The ones in the big pretty charts say the South Park site is the best, OP is second and UB is a distant third. The conclusions at the end have different numbers and have OP as #1 with South Park and UB basically tied at #2 and 3.

So a privately funded or state funded canal in NYS would be able to charge a toll then. Yes?
-
Serious not assy question. How do they charge tolls on the Erie Canal or Champlain Canal? Because they do now and did historically also.
-
That says it's free to inhabitants of the territory, citizens of any state, and citizens of any future state. Doesn't seem like a big reach to say you could toll a foreign flagged ship.

NIL agreement. Lets players get paid out in the open. If Deion can work with contacts to get big NIL agreements for players he can keep poaching players from bigger schools. -

It does even the playing field when you can openly buy recruits as opposed to the secretive buying of recruits that has been confined to shady boosters in the past. -
Ahhh Atlantic City... So what do we surmise happened here? Somebody made a pass at someone else's side piece? Were they doing an impromptu version of West Side Story? There had to be a reason nobody wanted to sign a criminal complaint and that dude got beat down so he did something that he doesn't want to have to talk about on the record

Game Week: Week 15 Carolina Panthers at Bills thread
That's No Moon replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
This team lost to Jacksonville. Jacksonville. Counting any game as a win in advance is stupidity. Every single one of those teams is significantly better than Jacksonville and could beat this one. Daboll can go right now. He's the chief architect of this offensive clown show they have going on. -
Do the Bills have any 2007/2011 Giants playoff run in them?

If they bring in Bill O'Brien they are proving to everyone that the process is BS. Absolutely not. Win out. I keep hearing that phrase like a wish on the breeze. Start with let's not cover ourselves in our own excrement for a full game and see what happens. They haven't played a complete game in months, but yeah let's talk about winning out. -
Yes please.

You are, statistically, a very unlucky person.

Is it worth seeing if Antonio Williams should get a shot?
That's No Moon replied to Lothar's topic in The Stadium Wall
He thinks he's a different back than he is. He may used to have been a power back who could make defensive players make "business decisions" in HS and college but in the NFL nobody seems overly concerned about meeting him in the hole.
