"Experts" Picks Week 4 vs the Giants
Robert James replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
New York's newspaper of record picks the Bills: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/04/sports/football/nfl-week-4-schedule-preview-picks.html?ref=football&_r=0 "The Bills have had unlikely contributions all over the field. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor has gotten much of the attention by stabilizing a position that has seemingly been in flux since Jim Kelly retired. But beyond Taylor, the Bills have also succeeded because of strong play by two rookies and two reclamation projects. The rookies, Ronald Darby and Karlos Williams, both drafted out of Florida State, in the second and fifth rounds, have had to do some intense on-the-job training. Darby, forced to start at cornerback when Leodis McKelvin was injured, has been picked on heavily by opposing teams but has held his own, with 10 passes defended. Williams, a running back, has a touchdown in each of the team’s three games, and last week, when LeSean McCoy was forced out, he rushed 12 times for 110 yards. Buffalo has also received solid production from guard Richie Incognito and wide receiver Percy Harvin. Those two talented players had seen their public image tarnished over the last few seasons, but they appear to have found a home with Coach Rex Ryan and are playing a big part in the team’s success. The Giants may have the more impressive trophy case, but for right now the Bills are New York’s best (and, technically, only) team." -
McNally and Jastremski reinstated
Robert James replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The record is closed on appeal and the Second Circuit won't consider new evidence. So, Needledee and Needledum can remain Patriots employees, where they probably are under a nondisclosure agreement forbidding them from talking to anyone. -
McNally and Jastremski reinstated
Robert James replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Today the NFL filed its notice of appeal. Once the Second Circuit recieves the full record in the case, the NFL has 14 days to request a date for filing its initial brief -- up to 91days. After the NFL files its initial brief, the NFLPA requests the date for its reply brief, again up to 91 days. Then the NFL has 14 days to file a reply brief. Once the case is fully briefed, the Second Circuit will schedule it for oral argument. It could easily take a few months before the argument is heard (I looked and the calendar is already full through early November). After oral argument, the judges will probably take a few months to conference and prepare their decison(s). Then either party could seek rehearing. TMI? Bottom line: there will almost certainly be a new Super Bowl champ before there is a final decision from the Second Circuit. -

Possible suspension for Suh? (update - No)
Robert James replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Suh can't catch a break. The screen shot tells it all. Morris should have been called for running into the kicker. -
Good point and very refreshing after Marrone and Hackett.

Bills v Colts second half thread
Robert James replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True. After our second half TD, we had one first down. That's when ground and pound should be eating up the clock. On the other hand, Tyrod had almost double Luck's QB rating. -

Week 1: Colts' Game Preparation - Are You Ready?
Robert James replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would think bad Karma is Fred going to the Patriots, giving up our offensive playbook and showing us up in week 2. Instead, he goes to a team we can only meet in the Super Bowl. -

Neither. The first has us losing the Colts. The second has us missing the playoffs. -

Grantland on Why to Watch Bills-Colts Now/Later Watch Now: Tyrod Taylor! I don’t think Buffalo’s starting quarterback is going to be very good, but I’m really excited to see what on earth he looks like during any sort of serious playing time in this bizarrely assembled Bills offense. Maybe this is the weirdly incompatible shopping list from Chopped . . . . Grantland's 17 Fearless and Arbitrary Predictions for the 2015 Season 8. Tyrod Taylor will (almost) start a revolution. The Bills are putting together something special. It’s like they took “It’s so crazy it might work!” and made it the official team policy . . . . -
Reinstate-gate Patriots reinstate Jastermski and McNally on the condition that they sign nondisclosure agreements that prevent them from revealing the truth about the deflation scheme to anyone, including the NFL. However, the existence of the agreements is somehow leaked to Goodell, probably by the Colts. Goodell meets with Kraft and an agreement is made to preserve the image of the NFL by destroying the agreements. Jastremski is then instructed to get rid of them "just like we did with the Spygate tapes." Following orders, Jastremski stomps all over them and throws them in the trash. TMZ roots through the Patriots' dumpsters, finds the agreements covered with Jastremski's footprints, and the entire scheme is revealed.

WSJ: Why the NFL has a Quarterback Crisis

Exactly. Perhaps Doug and Rex knew what they were doing after all. At least worth a try at TT's cap-friendly price. -
