I heard "Coop!" and I literally thought: Why is Seattle rooting for him? Eventually, I figured it out.

And TableDestroyer69 was the one who posted both the LMAO comment, and the comment that said no one thought it was funny. -

PFF Top 50 Players for 2023 - Josh Allen at 12, Diggs at 24

I'm guessing Mahomes, Burrow, and Jalen Hurts are all ranked ahead of him. They've got to be in the top 50. -
I just renewed my subscription. The initial sign-up page has a heading reading: "Get a Limited Time Offer for the Rest of this Offseason." It also has fine print at the bottom of the page that says: "Limited time offer pricing is for the rest of this offseason only" This could mean that you are paying for a subscription for offseason content only, and that appears to be the case. After signing up for the $9.99 subscription, I looked at the "manage my subscription" feature, and it says my annual $79.99 subscription "Renews automatically on 8/1/2023"

McDermott is very good at coaching the team in general, but not good at coaching the team during games.

Serious question: Can a player be fined when no foul is called? If not, then no, AJ won't be fined.

Yes, for purposes of this law. See the text below. However, I find it odd that New York forbids you from buying cigarettes or drinking until you are 21, but sets the age of consent for sexual relations at 17 . . . . "THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph (f) of subdivision 3 of section 30.10 of the criminal procedure law, as separately amended by chapters 3 and 320 of the laws of 2006, is amended to read as follows: (f) For purposes of a prosecution involving a sexual offense as defined in article one hundred thirty of the penal law, other than a sexual offense delineated in paragraph (a) of subdivision two of this section, committed against a child less than eighteen years of age, ***** in the first, second or third degree as defined in sections 255.27, 255.26 and 255.25 of the penal law committed against a child less than eighteen years of age, or use of a child in a sexual performance as defined in section 263.05 of the penal law, the period of limitation shall not begin to run until the child has reached the age of [eighteen] TWENTY-THREE or the offense is reported to a law enforcement agency or statewide central register of child abuse and maltreatment, whichever occurs earlier."

I thought she had to be well outside the statute of limitations as well. However, see the last paragraph of the article: "And in February, Cuomo signed into law the Child Victims Act, which allows survivors of child sexual assault to pursue criminal felony charges until they turn 28, and file a civil lawsuit before age 55." She was 17 -- and therefore legally a child -- at the time of the alleged assault. Thirty years later she is well within the statute of limitations under this law. billsfan1959 posted the complaint filed on her behalf, and it cites the Child Victim's Act.

Definitely bad journalism. And as is you note, it hits at the very heart of what it means to be American. I believe it was George Washington who said: "Question not the lobbyists, nor those who do PR. And if ever football shall become a thing, let each man pay his share. Never shall the rich be made to compensate for that from which they profit."

Is everyone underestimating the Chiefs?

Who do you think is overlooking them? Every power ranking I've seen has had them listed as the number 1 team in the NFL for the entire season. -

Anyone Listen to Jerry Hughes interview yesterday?
Robert James replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Bennett for 2 first round picks, 1 second round pick, and an RB. Hughes for Kelvin Sheppard who played only four full seasons in the NFL following the trade. -

I didn't want to personalize it, so I chose to make my point from a broader perspective. I think the broader perspective is important because, whether or not we advocated for it, it reflects the country we live in. I also think we should take that reality into account when evaluating the NFL's efforts to acknowledge the profound problems with the way black Americans have been treated in our democracy. Seen from that perspective, I don't think playing the Black National Anthem once is much of a burden.

The Powers that Be over the past 200+ years: Black people count as three fifths of a person; enslaving black people is perfectly legal; okay slavery is not legal but black people can't live in white neighborhoods; separate but equal; black people can't vote; okay black people can vote but good luck getting to a polling place; black people can't marry white people; black children can't go to school with white children; okay black children can go to school with white children, but we're going to make it very hard to live in white school districts; what's with these black people, why do they live in these horrible neighborhoods; we need stricter policing; etc., etc., etc. Black America: Black Lives Matter; Give Us True Equality! The Powers that Be: Stop being so divisive!!
