I'm sorry if this discussion has already been talked about earlier this week but why in the hell were there so many Steeler fans in attendance at the game on Sunday? Maybe the question should be, have the people of WNY lost interest in the Bills? I guess there are probably a couple of explanations for the large contingent of Steeler fans in Buffalo last Sunday but I guess, in my opinion, Bills fans just don't have the desire to spend the money to go see this team play. I understand that part of the problem is the group sales that occur in June that allow anyone buying over 15 tickets to get first dibs on games but the fact of the matter is, there should be more season tickets sold! Having over 20,000 opponents fans in "OUR" house is ridiculous. The people of WNY and all Bills fans should be embarrassed by that display of yellow towels that were flying last week. I sat there wondering how this could happen but in talking with a lot of people this part week, the main conclusion is that there is a huge majority of people that just don't care about the team. Sure they watch them on TV but when I asked if they would go to a game, they said "sure, if someone gave me a ticket". I know the economic situation in Buffalo is poor but tickets to the Bills games are among the lowest in the league. I guess I just don't understand it. I used to have season tickets for over 10 years before I moved out of town and the one thing that made my decision to move was the fact that I was going to lose my season tickets. I guess the people of WNY just don't have the spirit for the team like they used to. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Bills as one of the potential teams going to LA in the next 10 years. The people of WNY obviously don't care by their lack of support for the team.

I can't disagree. Moulds would probably make a top 25 list if you asked someone other than Bills fans though.

I have to get out my "Hick to English" dictionary for this one!!

What front page. I don't think I have even looked at it ever since I started coming to this board. I have it bookmarked to go straight to the wall. Ease up a little with the criticism on RIch. Most of us use the links in someone's posts to find the information. I can't be bothered stopping by and reading the front page. I figure is any articles are worth reading, someone will post a link in a post.

LA, who's going to get the free meal?
flomoe replied to erynthered's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought I read somewhere about 5 or 6 weeks back that someone was fairly close to getting the picks right. I know the first 4 weeks of the season, everyone was done in reality but there was someone, I thought, that pretty much nailed it after week 6 or 7. I can't remember who though but they had predicted the finish, or close to it anyway. -
If You were at the Greatest Comeback Game
flomoe replied to JohninMinn.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When you put it that way, yes it compares because we were left for dead earlier in the year, pretty much as we were left for dead at halftime at that game. Comparing my own feelings, earlier this year, I was pretty frustrated and pointing fingers but didn't necessarily give up on the team. During that game, halftime basically, I was very frustrated and wanted to leave but didn't because I didn't want to give up on the team. I guess the comparisons are there in a skewed sort of way. -
I think we'll have some of that on Sunday!!

Probably Molson Canadian Light and Blue Light.

Parking right at the corner of drive 2 and community drive in the drive 2 (Corrolla lot)

Good One, didn't think of that. Plus, I can pick up a fresh loaf of bread in the morning to go with it. Cool, thanks. Chili, the food that keeps on giving. One of my favorite lines from the Simpsons is when Homer goes into the kitchen holding his gut saying he is never going to eat chili again then open the fridge and exclaims: "ohhhh chili"

Okay, here's the deal. My wife and I are coming in from out of town for the game Sunday. We are going with a couple of friends and meeting a few others in the parking lot. We, in all likelihood, won't have access to a grill for the game and with the weather prediction calling for rain, grilling might not be easy anyway. Does anyone have any good suggestions for pre and post game food for the game? We have thought about ordering pizza the night before so that's a possibility but I was wondering if anyone had any other good ideas that can either be bought or prepared the day before. Beer will definitely be flowing so I don't need help with that. Thanks

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, I forgot to mention that one. How could I forget, I got friggin frostbite that game on my toes. There's nothing like sitting on a blanket in your seat only to have your feet resting atop 6" of ice. You gotta love those games!!

I hope they don't fold within the next 12 months. My wife and I plan on using our accumulated frequent flyer miles from USAir for the Bills home opener next September. If someone buys them out, I hope they have flights into Buffalo and that the miles are transferrable. I was able to use miles that I accummulated through TWA with American when they took over and actually am using them this weekend to fly First Class from Orlando to Chicago. I couldn't use them from Chicago to Buffalo though since American only uses the smaller jets into Buffalo now. Hang on for one more football season USAir!!

Early Roll Call For Steelers @ Bills Game
flomoe replied to R. Rich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I still plan on being there barring any unforeseen holdups in my change of planes in Chicago on Friday. If for some reason I get stuck in Chicago, I'm renting a car and driving. There is no way I'm missing this one!! -
Honestly, who cares what other teams do. The Bills still have to win Sunday for anything to matter. That is all we need to know. THE BILLS MUST WIN!! Period - End of Sentence!! If (when) the Bills win on Sunday, then we can just hope that fate intervened and helped either or both the Colts and Rams win. Otherwise, there is nothing we as fans can do but hope. What other teams do is out of our hands. We can sit here and discuss all week the possibilities if one team plays to win or to protect their players. It doesn't matter one way or another, the point is, the Bills need to win and that needs to be our focus. For the 74,000 fans like myself that will be there on Sunday, we need to do everything in our power to help them succeed. At 4:15 on Sunday, we all can hope to look up and see that the Rams have beaten the Jets and if not, we can all say a prayer that the Colts beat the Broncos. That is all we can do.

As always FFS, another great and insightful post. Thanks

Wow, this is a toss up between quite a few games. A couple of games away from the Ralph that stand out was the shutout in Cleveland at the old mistake on the lake park in 1991 I believe. The other away game was the 1993 AFC Championship game in Miami when Kelly came back from a knee injury to lead the Bills to their first Super Bowl game against the Cowgirls. That game was a riot considering the lack of enthusiasm from typical Dolphish fans who didn't even sell the game out and the number of Bills fans that outnumbered fish fans after halftime. My favorite games at the Ralph were the 1988 (I think) game against the Jets when we finally won the division title after years of futility when, I believe Fred Smerlas blocked a field goal attempt to seal the win. The other two were the playoff games against the Raiders and of course the Oilers game. Sweet times indeed. I'm feeling this week like I did 14 years ago leading up to a game. I can't wait. This is probably the biggest home game the Bills have had in a long long time. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE SHONALD, lastly fires the Broncos....
flomoe replied to CentralVaBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I couldn't agree more, Marino acts all high and mighty which is totally uncalled for in this type of broadcasting. I guess he thinks he is better than everyone else because he won a few awards for INDIVIDUAL efforts. -
That is hilarious!!!

A Monday night game....on the road likely
flomoe replied to Rudyc80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Doesn't the NFL owe us a Monday night game at home against either NE, Jets or KC? It would be about time for that. -

I'm not sure of the seat numbers detox but I think we're in the high 20's and have 4 together. Possibly 29-32 but I can't remember off hand. I'm looking forward to this, it's driving me crazy thinking that I have to work all week and then fly out on Friday. I want to get there now and start partying!! -

Just ask for Flo. There will probably be roughly 10 or so of us. We always park there because the Mens room, aka, the trees, are roughly 30 feet away. We park along the Community Drive side right on that corner or in a couple of spaces. There is a large dumpster usually in the corner. Hope to see you there. -

Yeah, I'm going. I bought tickets for this game towards the end of the preseason. At the time, I figured it would be nice to go up and visit family around the holidays. Now that I look at it, the heck with the family, I can't wait till Sunday for the game!!!! I have tickets in section 312, row 31 I think. Do you know where you are going to be tailgating? I usually park with a bunch of friends right at the corner of Drive 2 and Community Drive in the Corolla lot. I've been parking there since 1991. I had season's until 1996 when I moved down here. I would like to get together with some of the TBD'ers to party before the game. Let me know where you're going to be. -

I'm looking forward to hearing Simon on the radio too. It sucks not having his postgame show on Empire anymore, they really missed the boat on cancelling that with the way this season has turned out. I'm sure there would be a lot of people tuning in to watch it and that means a lot of ad revenue. Oh well, Empire has seen it's better days. Good Luck with your trip Jeff, I'm leaving out of OIA on Friday and staying till next Wednesday. I just hope it isn't to busy there next week after hearing about the problems that they had over Christmas. -
Oh good lord. I know what I want for Christmas now!!!!!!!!
