  1. 1st of all, the Bills are FAR from set at Qb. In fact, the opposite is probably the thing to say here. Edwards is very fragile, both physically and mentally. Fitzpatrick is an unproven journeyman with little experience but I don't think anyone would tell you that if TE goes down, Fitz will step right in and not miss a beat, other than the spin doctors in the organization. I'm not saying Sanchez is worthy of the pick but if Stafford was somehow there, grab him in a heartbeat. 2nd, Crabtree is extremely talented and if available at #11, take him in a heartbeat too. If not, trade out and get what you can as long as it's a 1st and a 2nd. At that point in the draft, take the best player available as long as he is head and shoulders higher rated than you higheest rated need position at that point. Also, the Bills might have Evans and Owens now but they are far from "stacked" at WR. What if Evans went down, I don't think anyone would say they are stacked. Plus Owens is a 1 year test. The possibility of taking Crabtree at #11 is not far fetched at all.
  2. Can't totally disagree here. I've been saying that this season might be one of the longest in the history of the Bills. Sure, there is some talent on both sides of the ball but talent is pretty much irrelevant with the current coaching staff, philosphy that they teach and the numerous questions surrounding the head and ability of the most important position on the team. This coaching staff, obviously, is no better than a 7-9 record when the stars and schedules align and offer up some pretty easy (winnable) games. I don't see this team, with the schedule they have and the obstacles the coaching staff and quarterback face, that they are more than a 4-12 team at best. I would love to be optomistic, but DJ has completely shattered that part of my excitement of being a Bills fan. I've become a realist the last couple seasons with last season sealing the deal on expecting nothing more than mediocrity regardless who dons the red, white and blue of Buffalo. The most optomistic I can be right now is looking forward to a top 5 pick in next years draft.
  3. I have to disagree. With still an unproven starter in Trent (and yes, after his jekyll and hyde perfomances last year) he is still a mystery, Fitzpatrick is nothing more than a journeyman and a disaster QB at best and Hamden who is the best at the position for carrying a clipboard. QB is a very needed position this year. Not top pick unless Stafford were to fall but something to look at in rounds 3-5. There are some pretty decent QB's out there and not a lot of teams have the need there. Still, drafting one ahead of a TE is likely.
  4. If you were sitting there at #11 and Percy Harvin was still available, would you consider him? I know the Bills have much more pressing needs at nearly every position I think, except Punter but the guy might be the most talented player available there. You could eliminate both Josh Reed and his contract and Roscoe Parrish and his hangnail/bruised ass cheek injury of the week and plug in a player like Harvin to handle the #3 receiver position. I know Harvin has the history of injuries himself but he does return kicks, could play Running Back and even take snaps in a version of a Wildcat offense. Besides all that, according to the NFLN, he looked amazing at his Pro Day. Just a thought while hoping he doesn't end up with New England, Miami or the Jests,
  5. I am not a Trent hater by any means, I just am not sold on him but that's irrelevant to why I think the Bills need a QB. The overall quality and depth at the position is probably worse this upcoming year than it was last year, which really tells you that it is probably a need somewhere in the draft. I hope Trent does well and gets over his inability to figure out how to read a 3-4 and his mental issues about getting the ball downfield when it's necessary. The point is that the QB position is probably more a need than a TE right now.
  6. I would guess that you are right on with this, except that it actually might be Schouman that is the #1 since he has a bit more experience. They are probably both going into the season as 1a and 1b. The Bills do need another tight end but they will get one later in the draft (one thats a bit raw) or an undrafted player. This current offensive philosophy does not utilize the tight end position as much as it should, so the point in trading for or drafting one high is pointless. Why spend on a guy that might get 5 touches and 20 yards per game max. There are FAR too many crucial needs on this team (OLB, DL, DE, OL(2), SS and QB) that it wouldn't surprise me that the Bills draft a QB before they draft a tight end.
  7. Unfortunately, you are probably right. The Bills will take Maybin, stick him at OLB and he will most likely fail terribly there. The Bills need an OLB/MLB/DE/DT/OL/QB/SS or even a RB a pick #11. They don't need some sort of hybrid player that might or might not work out.
  8. NoShawn(sp) Moreno would likely still be there at 11. Unloading Marshawn could be a possibility, unlikely but anything is possible.
  9. If you're looking to get a Jersey of someone who is going to do something exciting and stick around a while, probably start looking at a Brady Jersey or something along those lines. If you're looking to pick a Bills Jersey, I would save your money and wait and see who they draft. There probably isn't anyone on the current team that might stick around longer than 2 more years other than possibly Evans, McKelvin or maybe Fine.
  10. CUTLER!!! Hands down. This isn't even a debate. Cutler has balls and isn't afraid to take charge compared to Edwards who just has all sorts of mental issues with getting the ball beyond the linebackers. That isn't even considering his physical ability to stretch the field with his arm. Sure he has "poise" as a young QB but since the hit in AZ, he can't stand the heat.
  11. These players on the Bills might be "Playmakers" but put anyone of them on any other team in the league not named the Lions, and they probably fit the part as Role Players but not Playmakers. The jury is still out on a few but the point is there.
  12. And the Beat Goes On................... Same Shite different year with this team........if it's not one thing, it's another Follow them long enough and it just rolls off your back and you start to expect these type of things
  13. I haven't written off the Bills because they haven't signed anyone yet, my concern is the weak coaching staff, lack of talent accross the board and a brutal schedule that would lead to an 0-16 season if the season started tomorrow.
  14. Yes, ML might have gotten himself into some trouble the last year or so but isn't he the type of player with that kind of reckless care that the Bills need on this team. The only thing ML needs to do now is pop a cap in someone's ass and he would be exactly what this team needs, someone who doesn't care, plays with heart and fire and isn't afraid to lay it on the line. Enough is enough of the tea drinkers and church goers that DJ loves playing for him. It's time for football players with talent and attitude to step up and lay it all on the line at RWS, regardless of their background. The only players giving it their all at RWS lately are the opponents.
  15. If the Bills end up with that draft and that talent level, Brandon will be deemed a genius. If it happens, it will be concluded that Brandon checks this site to figure out what he is doing as a GM. I hate to sound sour on the Front Office and Coaching staff but it is VERY unlikely that they could draft a team as talented as the one you Mocked. It could go down as possibly one of the best of all time but very unlikely they are smart enough to get that kind of talent on all 8 picks.
  16. If this happens, the Pats are in line for a VERY HIGH draft pick next year. With or without Cassel, the Bills are probably looking at a Top 5 pick next year based on their schedule and lack of overall depth and talent. This would be a very bad move considering what Cassel's salary would do to the Bill's Cap space. I don't have a problem with Cassel since he would be an upgrade at the position immensely but the Bills really have much bigger fish to fry at this point in time.
  17. I would take any one of them EXCEPT for Pettigrew. The problem with taking a Tight End at 11 is that we need one to stretch the field, but if the Tight End stretches the field, who in the hell is going to get the ball to him. As stated in the assesment of Pettigrew, Trent checksdown way to much and that would defeat the purpose of having a stretch the field Tight End. I think the pick here should be one of the DE's that is a playmaker.
  18. I've watched GT play quite a few times this year and this guy is the real deal. He is as quick as he is tall. His only drawback is that he probably needs to develop a little more in the upper body to have the strength to shed some of the bull Left Tackles in the league. A lot of people on this board are enamored with taking a TE with the 11th pick but the Bills need playmakers and game changers and Johnson is that type of player. A Tight End is a positional player that will get used maybe 5 - 8 times a game whereas a stud DE will play 25 - 35 plays a game and has the ability to create turnovers and make a defensive stop on a crucial 3rd down. DE or even OLB is the position to pick at 11 and Johnson would be the wise choice if he's available.
  19. This team NEEDS playmakers and game changers. They currently have none on either side of the ball and the only two that would even qualify in the playmaker/game changer mold would be McKelvin as a Kick Returner and Parrish as a Punt Returner. Other than those two players at those positions, the Bills don't have one player that an opponent would say is a playmaker on this team. Plain and Simple. Drafting a TE regardless who he is or what he can do would not qualify as a playmaker or game changer. It is something that this team has been lacking for quite a while and it's time to get one.
  20. Pretty fair to say that if Kiper has the Bills taking (insert name here), that they will be taking someone else. I don't think he ever has projected the Bills on taking anyone correctly. It is possible that he had the Mike Williams pick right but it's just a guess and it was a top 5 pick and most monkey's in a zoo can throw shitt on a wall and make it stick. Regardless who he thinks is a great pick at whatever location and round, it's all a crap shoot at who goes where. It's all based on needs, agents, mental ability of the player in question and physical ability to handle the rigours of the NFL. Kiper does do a lot of research and fluffs it with the ability to get his point across in a dumbed down manner for the below average fan (kinda like the current President). He is charismatic and flamboyant which is why he is on TV (talking about Kiper, not the President). The Bills have greater needs in this upcoming draft than Tight End and that position will probably be addressed in Free Agency or at a later point in the draft if at all.
  21. Wasn't this the burning question going into last offseason? I know he was given a little slack with Fairchild leaving and Schonert stepping in, but the general question was the same. Unfortunately, the answer will remain the same again next year barring a complete change of direction from Ralph, which won't happen.
