  1. +1 Though I would rearrange the ranking 1. Red Endzones 2. LB 3. QB 4. LT 5. NT
  2. Great to see you back Mr. Ball. I hope you are feeling much better.
  3. I am curious, how in Fuc*$ sake did Trentative Edwards get 16 votes in this poll? For those of you that voted for him, haven't you watched this completely inept offensive football team for the last couple of years? Good Lord, we might as well give Rob Johnson or JP a friggin chance. I wonder if Joe Dufek or Bruce Mathison are available for these morons. The Bills are in dire need of a QB that knows what it takes to win. I wouldn't mind seeing a proven vet come in next year but I am not opposed to bringing in a rookie, from a winning program, that has very high leadership skills, and let him take this team over. The days of seeing TE sulking on the sidelines are over and we won't and shouldn't have to put up with that crap again!!
  4. Well, the Super Bowl is in Dallas next year, so it will probably be either a country singer or a southern rock band. Some of the other suggestions like AC/DC were good but they will probably opt for county considering Jones will probably have a say in who is playing in his stadium.
  5. Excellent Post One thing that we have seriously lacked along with a QB since the retirement of Kelly is an Offensive minded coach. The Bills have struggled mightly with the defensive minded coaches, Wade, Gregg and Dick. Sure, Mularkey was there and produced some positive results for the short time he was in there but he just wasn't given the tools, IMO, to work with. Couple that with a complete of overall young talent and a quickly aging team, and he was screwed. I do believe that Buddy will still go D on that Thursday night in April but I also believe the Bills will be scooping up one QB on Friday and another on Saturday. Currently the Bills lack a starter, depth and a disaster QB on the roster, which has been the root of the problems for at least the last 5 years.
  6. The point is, only 1 number officially retired, a few that aren't given out and 6 Hall of Famers, of which, most were out of a span of roughly 10 years, give or take, that the Bills players as a whole, have sucked for a pretty good portion of their 50 year existence. If you eliminate the couple of HOFer's of the mid 70's, I don't believe they have anyone worth a solid steamer of the NFL era teams. I'm a HUGE fan but I'm also a realist, the Bills have sucked for most of their existence. Most of that sucking is on par with the early Saints and Bucanneers sucking. The franchise as a whole is not a good one.
  7. I don't think Bruce played much over 260-265 his entire career, except his rookie year, at DE. He might have been listed around 270 or so but I highly doubt he ever actually played at that. So, I wouldn't consider that huge or even big.
  8. Great to hear Mr. Beer might be going home this weekend. Some really great news there. I'm sure we all look forward to having him back here soon too.
  9. I would say history of past Canuck games would lead us to believe it's the Patriots. I would prefer it to be Jax or even Detroit but for marketing purposes for Toronto, it will be the Patriots in the annual December game. It's a fit because the last few years, we have played the Pats at home in December and the annual "home" game in TO is in December, so the obvious choice would be the Pats. I hate it but there it is!
  10. There are probably a few reasons for this. One, there are limited numbers available and there are a lot of players vying for those numbers in football, so that might skew things a little. Two, IIRC, Thurman's,Bruce's and OJ's numbers haven't been worn and possibly Kalsu's too, though they aren't officially retired. Three, the Bills really have sucked for a good portion of those years and they really haven't had many players stand out head over heels other than those mentioned in point two.
  11. I was at that game and the atmosphere was amazing. Just a sign of great things to come. The Bills need an influential leader like that again. You could see from the moment Kelly came out of the tunnel during the introductions, that, that was his team. I completely disagree on the Flutie "it" thing but the "it" is what this team needs.
  12. That is some funny stuff right there! So glad to hear that Mr. Beer is on the positive side of things and hopefully the worst is behind him. I will keep the prayers going out to Mr and Mrs BeerBall and their family.
  13. I like the smurf turf at Boise. I'm a Boise fan so I'm a little biased but the blue turf looks pretty cool. Now, knowing that Eastern Washington is able to get the red turf, why can't the Bills get the red turf for the End Zones? It is time to bring back the Red End Zones. Enough spending money on ridiculous billboards and time to pony up and start a fund to bring back the Red End Zones.
  14. I agree, dib is the best but Numark definitely gave dib a run until the coverup.
  15. I will say a prayer for Mr. Beerball I hope he gets well soon
  16. Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a winner. Excellent post and you express what the majority of people would. I think that Shirley pretty much said the same thing, though a bit more longwinded.
  17. It was damn cold. I personally think that the Raiders game was worse than the Jets game, though I did get frostibte at the Jets game. Both were awful conditions for a fan just sitting there at the games. I find those games somewhat comparable, though the other end of the spectrum, to the Bills/Jags game in 2003. It was Sunny, Hot and Humid in Jacksonville to a point where it was nearly unbearable. At least you can keep trying to add more clothing for the winter games as opposed to shedding the clothing for the heat. (women shedding their clothing did make for some nice scenery though)
  18. I wouldn't care if this guy was pasty white, he couldn't read a defense in a 2 on 2 game!!
  19. This is probably pretty close but I don't think the Colts win 5 and the Vikes definitely don't win more than 3 or 4. The Saints would be 2-14 and the Jets would probably be in the same boat as the Vikes, Colts: 4-12 Jets: 5-11 Saints: 2-14 Vikings: 4-12
  20. NO F'IN WAY I thought about it and still............. NO F'IN WAY
  21. Personally, I don't think that Bates would be that bad of a choice. If you consider that the Bills have some very high cost, glaring needs on offense, they really don't have the money to completely retool the defense this year. Bates is known as a pretty good 4-3 guy and not a 4-3 cover 2 one at that. If the Bills do hire Bates, it would appear that they are planning on spending money in Free Agency on either or both the OT and QB positions. There is going to be a need to upgrade the LB's on the current roster which will also probably will happen in FA and the Draft but the offense is Gailey's bread and butter and there is no way he will sacrifice the needs on the O for switching the D to a 3-4 and all the money that will be needed to bring in the necessary players to make that defense work.
  22. Why does everyone seem to think that Ellison will be on this team next season? I think the Bills will load up on LB's in FA and the Draft and jettison most of the LB's except Poz and possibly Mitchell. The LB position has been one of the weakest parts of the defense for the last few years and along with the QB and OT positions, this group is definitely a very high priority going into next year.
  23. I have a feeling that the 3-4 is a pipe dream this year. IF the Bills went that direction, the following players will no longer be in a Bills uniform, IMO. Stroud...Johnson...Kelsay...Denney...Whitner...Ellsion...McCargo...Corto. That is a long list of players that need to be replaced. Basically the Ends and LB's all need to get bigger and more mobile, along with adding at least 2 NT's to the mix. There isn't one currently on the roster except the recent addition of Harvey and Duncan becoming a 3-4 DE.
