  1. The opening drive on Sirius this morning stated that the Bills tried to get Dan Williams before 26 but couldn't and the Cardinals had targeted him there.
  2. I think the fact that the Bills didn't reach for a QB says a lot about the direction and the area of concern they plan to fix first. Defense was our weakest link among many weak links. Couple that with the looming CBA getting reworked and the need to go after a QB high in the draft doesn't make a lot of sense, unless the Bills were picking 1st overall. There are a lot of positives to take out of the draft and free agency. It definitely shows that the new regime has their ducks in a row. Sure the team might not make the playoffs next year, but I would bet that they are going to be much better across the board and much more exciting to watch. This team has stunk out loud for the last few years, well 10, but really pathetic the last few, and they might be finally turning the corner on something positive here.
  3. Not to be a dick here but it wasn't our offense that was getting run over for nearly 200 yards a game last year. They held their own as best they could given the fact they were fighting an uphill battle every game. It was our front 7 on D that sucked monkey balls last year, plain and simple.
  4. Exactly, I don't think any of the veterans' jobs are safe. Some obviously will be here in September but there is going to be a lot of competition. Training camp should be very, very interesting this year.
  5. Agree with SDS about the credibility of Nix and I was skeptical also until he seemed to back up and clarify it with Spiller. I think we are going to see some pretty straight shooting press conferences this year. It appears that neither of these guys is going to hold back on an in-your-face-answer if you ask them a tough question. It's a whole new atmosphere at OBD, something we haven't seen since Polian, IMO.
  6. This will be my 14th year with it, couldn't live without it!!
  7. The bolded one will probably be gone by mid August, some by the middle of May.
  8. My bad. I still think Kelsay and Johnson are gone. Stroud will probably stick but this will probably be his last year.
  9. Now with the Bills picking up Moats, I would bet that Kelsay and Johnson are as good as gone and Stroud might not be to far behind.
  10. That's some funny stuff. It just keeps getting better. There are going to be a lot of holes opened and people getting plowed by this new line.
  11. I think this really hurts the Jets. Washington gave them multiple options and his loss has seriously depleted a position that they weakened by losing Jones and adding Tomlinson. Good move by the Jets for the Bills though. Washington owned the Bills.
  12. You are probably right but I just think that some of the holdovers (Kelsay, Johnson, Stroud) might be hearing footsteps. Especially Stroud considering he is better suited for a 4-3 tackle and not a 3-4 end. It doesn't mean he can't do it but if the Bills are serious about stopping the run, they needed to upgrade across the entire D-Line.
  13. If you look at it, Spiller is going to start somewhere on the field, at RB, Slot or a combination of both. Troupe will probably start at nose with K. Williams being the rotational, 3rd down pass rush nose. Carrington has every opportunity to start at one of the ends. The new staff isn't beholden to Kelsay or Stroud. Everyone is going to have a chance to start at end. Easly will probably be a bit of a project but could easily be a 4th WR if they go 4 wide. Wand is probably going to start from day 1 at one of the tackles. He has the ability and tennacity to play at either end. Great draft so far by Nix and Company.
  14. Love the pick. After the first couple of tackles, this guy was my favorite. Awesome job by Nix!!!!
  15. Exactly!! The Bills need depth. They need new blood. Nix and Co. are more or less, starting from scratch. They have revamped the Defense to a 3-4 and are going from a Pop Warner Offense to what I would guess would be a spread with lots of speed and players motioning every which way.
  16. I am guessing here that Nix was talking about moving in the latter rounds (3 and beyond). He has already publicly stated that they tried to move back into the 1st for their guy but he ended up being taken by someone prior to their move. The point is, why move in the later rounds and give up picks that you need. There is no reason to go after a "name" player late in the 3rd to satisfy the masses and have to give up one or two picks in the later rounds. The Bills need bodies right now, players that can add some depth with potential to play on a regular basis. Stop the bitching and whining and let the experts, Nix and company, do their job. If you don't like it, go satisfy your man crush and follow the Pats or Broncos.
  17. Exactly Coach, the D-Line has been neglected since the '85 draft. It's about time the Bills addressed a Major need here. Not only did they go big but they went for some pretty good quality too. Troup isn't going to wow anyone with tackles or sacks but he is going to quietly make that D stronger from day one. Carrington on the other hand might be a diamond in the rough with some serious size for a DE. Both awesome picks that we have been clammoring about for years.
  18. Unfortunately you are probably dead on here. The Bills have needs all over the board so depending on which direction the best player available was, was the direction they went. Stopping the run I personally think was the bigger need in this draft. The Bills are switching to a 3-4 and have very few players to fill the front 3. The two picks so far for the D-Line are probably starters on opening day, You can't ask more than that. I see Nix and Gailey going heavy on O in rounds 4-7. There are some quality OT's still on the board, some "name" QB's left and a receiver or two that have potential to be starting on opening day as well. It's a deep draft offensively and a bit thinner at the quality defensive spots. Also, the same people that have been bitching for years about not building the D-Line appear to be the ones now complaining the the O-Line needs building. Rome wasn't built in a day. It's a pick your poison for Nix and he opted for filling the biggest need, the often ran-over D-Line. STFU and live with it.
  19. The only one I've seen in the stores is the Heineken keg. It usually is covered in dust on the back of a shelf so I don't really trust grabbing it. I haven't seen the Newcastle or Killians kegs out yet. I would love to see a Hoegarrden or Stella Artois keg come out though. Those are probably my two favorite draft beers that I don't like in a bottle.
  20. Ed Wang in the 4th Tony Pike or Jevon Snead in the 5th
  21. Ellis won't even be considered for a position on the D-Line. Even making a comparison of Ellis and Carrington shows the ignorance and idiocy of the poster. Do a little research before you make your moronic comments. This, IMO, is a pretty good pick. Schobel is up in the air, Stroud isn't a natural 3-4 end, along with S. Johnson or Williams. Carrington can stop the run and I can picture him as a DLE similar to Hansen, with a bit more rush ability.
