I don't know if "worked up" is right, but for close to 20 years it's always dysfunctional. Always. So this report rings true because this is how it usually goes. It also tracks that Russ is still involved and the guys responsible for the extension are the ones that want to get out of it. This fits, these guys have never had a plan and jump from one thing to the next with no real idea what they want to do. Will spend out of their minds for a tight end but run for the hills on middling QB money.

What I find ridiculous is the the half of the organization that structured, signed and promoted that contract are the same people that are now running from it. I served as a Marine for 5 years. I have a different take. While I personally feel differently about the anthem than he does I respect his right to express himself anyway he wants. The freedom I defended gives him the right to sit or stand. Freedom is messy. It's easy to support the things we agree with, it's a lot more difficult to defend those we don't.

I get the impression from the article he took offense to the shade Rex through their way about being a "bad defensive coach". Jerry comes of as petty and petulant in this one. I agree that he is usually more right than wrong and it is tough for people to hear but he can be a real curmudgeon sometimes and is out of line. This and the time he called into NE radio and declared the Bills and Mario frauds come to mind. I also thought he was brutally unfair to TO when he was here right off the bat. He just hated that he was a Bill. Jerry's shtick got old a long time ago.
