  1. no, because Mcbean knew who the bills 2018 qb was going to be before he made the trade
  2. If you are correct, I would agree with you. If you are correct, we'll be talking about the 2019 draft by Halloween
  3. putting time and thought it on these guys is like obsessing about the third string outside linebacker. If this guy affects how the bills do this year, we're done for the year
  4. And everything Mcbean has done points to this. Trading TT, leaving themselves without a viable starting qb Trading Cordy and moving up in the draft Not going for a so-called bridge Saying they want a pocket passer Saying they want long term sustainable success Building Cap space to be able to fill in around a qb Can't wait to be walking around New Era seeing numerous bills fans wearing 'Rosen' on their backs. That will be a hoot!
  5. would that give us the league's lowest QB payroll?
  6. It'll be McCown. gets the coaches used to calling the qb Josh (not Allen)
  7. best way to keep pressure off the kid is to invest the 40MM in players who can be on the field when he is
  8. given how prepared and focused Mcbean is, doubt they cared much about Rosen's backup. They can go with Mcown and Nate
  9. Remember Mcbean stressing availability in his starters. Bradford's not a starter Mcbean could or would count on. Backup-sure
  10. I don't know if they're going with Bradford, but if they do, he is not their starter, not their bridge, he is their security blanket for when the starter is out for a series or a game. Bradford makes sense if they are trading up for a day one starter. The only day one starters in the draft are Mayfield or Rosen. You tell me, which makes more sense- Rosen,Bradford,Peterman or Mayfield, Bradford, Peterman. It's Rosen, and they're trading up to wherever they have to (2,3, or 4) to get him.
  11. Has anyone pointed out that Beane transformed Cordy and a #10 first rounder into Tre White, a #12 first rounder , and a #22 first rounder. It's like conjuring a first round draft pick out of thin air.
  12. This (at this point) 5 page thread is based on a jan. 25 tweet that is titled "If I'm guessing" and has cousins going to denver or jax.
  13. Does anybody really think Mcbean would start the season with Nate, Josh Allen, and a retread under center. It's the other Josh
  14. Those 3 qb's are all so different from one another, it would seem odd that the Bills would be happy with all 3. Also, seems that there wouldn't be much downside to the Browns, Bills, Colts and Giants to work together at this point to explore whether their needs could all be met without hurting each other. If so, the upside would be making planning for the rest of the draft much easier for each team, knowing with certainty where they would stand after the first 4 pix were made.
  15. I'm sorry. I thought you mentioned using and discarding people, which would be poor tactics if you have to deal with them in the future. My mistake
  16. No, because you have to deal with them in the future
  17. would be surprised if those phone calls didn't already take place (before we traded TT)
  18. Beane isn't taking somebody else's leftovers. He knows who he wants, and will do whatever he needs to to get him. We just have to hope he's right.
  19. Don't you hate the guy who says 'told you so'? I told you so. It's the giants at #2. Could be Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield. It's Rosen. After they pick Rosen, go back and read everything Mcbean has said. It was right there in front of us.
  20. They're not doing smokescreens anymore, because they know who they want, and more importantly, know they can get him
  21. It's done. It'll be Rosen at #2
  22. I think one big point is being overlooked. Mcbean is not going to jettison his starter (TT) unless and until he knows who he'll have to replace him. Locking up a starting FA last week strikes me as very unlikely. No benefit for a FA to commit behind the scenes before signing period starts. More likely is having a trade-up deal agreed to which guarantees them being able to get their top qb pick in the draft. While the bills may indeed pick up a cheapie JAG like Mcown as a back-up or camp arm, I think you can forget about a high end FA qb like Keenum. I know they saved 2 million by making the move last week, but no way are they going to put themselves in a position where they could be left standing (without a starting qb) when the music stops.
  23. They're not going to sign a bridge, they had one and just traded him!
  24. No, it'll be Rosen, Nate, and a camp arm. Mcbean thinks strategically and long term, not particularly concerned about this year's results. Bradford, Keenum, et al will not be contributing to our eventual take-off in 2-3 years. Rosen's not the type to need or take to a mentor. If he's going to succeed or fail, he'll do either his way.
  25. You hit it! Gm's working together can accomplish more than competing against each other, as long as their needs and goals don't conflict. This draft is an odd confluence where it will happen.
