I guess the Dolphin coach in 2016 'didn't play him right' either As I said, Mack could be great. (please read my words). Just said the Mario and Mack threads resembled each other. It's not whether I want him or not, it's that unbridled enthusiasm on this site does not always end as everyone thinks it will. PS-I'd probably want him, but realize McBeane knows more than I do. Que sera sera

shoulda woulda coulda, yet the Bills ended up paying about 67 mill of the 100 mill , 50 mill guaranteed contract for 3 years work (and remember these are 2012 salary figures). I'm just saying, things happen. Mack, if it happens , could be great, but the threads then and now share a certain resemblance.

I'm enjoying these 19 pages as much as the next guy, but it's starting to sound too much like the Mario Williams threads before we signed him.. And we all know how that ended up. I'm not trying to compare the two players, just comparing the enthusiasm around the possible signing of each. There's the saying be careful what you wish for

While I agree with your thoughts on Allen's personality traits, and his willingness to sign with offsets, it should be noted that he waited until after Mayfield also signed with offsets before he signed. Perhaps he wanted to see what mayfield did, perhaps mayfield's signing gave cover to Jimmy Sexton. In any event-good for Bills, bad for Jets. While I hate the expression, that's a win-win

Just a question to those who know more about this than me. Darnold is holding out because he reportedly wants no offset language in his contract. Allen signed already, he accepted offset language in his contract. Obviously teams want offset provision, players (or agents) don't. Both Allen and Darnold have the same agent, Jimmy Sexton. Is this a case of the agent treating the two teams differently, or just Darnold being really stubborn?

Another great rockpile memory. 1969 home opener was with the jets, they had won super bowl III the previous january. In those days the AFL-NFL rivalry was huge, and as the jets were introduced, they got a standing ovation from the Buffalo crowd for being the first AFL team to win the super bowl. The Bills then went on to lose the game of course. Try to imagine a Bills home crowd giving any visiting team a standing O now, and you'll realize how big the AFL-NFL thing was in those years -

I did also. Although he wasn't with the team yet, I made it to the rockpile as a kid for a game their first year (1960), and have been a fan since. Got onto the field after they won the '64 AFL championship. -
I don't want ANY player who feels he's done more than enough when the team hasn't done enough! I don't care about stats, personal accomplishments, community involvement., whatever. The team didn't do enough, therefor YOU didn't do enough. When we have a team where everyone on the roster feels that way, we'll have a winner. And I feel Mcbean is trying to build that kind of roster.

RD1, Pick 7: Josh Allen QB - Wyoming

First, I wanted Rosen Second, I realize that the Bills know more than I do But I just wanted to address the accuracy question regarding Rosen and Allen Allen's completion % was 56.3% in 2017, Rosen's 62.2%. Now I realize that there are numerous variables such as types of passes attempted, YPA, quality of defenses played against, quality of offensive line and receivers, etc., but what we're talking about is 6 completions more per 100 attempts with Rosen, or approx. 2 per game (assuming 33 pass attempts per game). (At a yards per completion of 10 which was the approximate nfl 2017 avg. we're talking 20 yards). Is it possible, assuming no improvement on Allen's part, that it's ok to accept two fewer completions in return for a player who might better fit the culture of the team that Mcbeane is attempting to build, might be more durable, and is certainly more mobile (fewer sacks). Allen may make it, may fail, but maybe this trade-off is worth it.
