  1. Mills makes Seantrell look like a 1st rounder.
  2. I can somehow still get on Dareus' case about Darby not performing well. Hear me out though lol. It's only an assumption but can also be a probability that, the young players entering the NFL or in the baby years of their NFL career pick things up from the veterans on the team. Who better than Kyle Williams right? Yeah i feel that too but as far as culture and type of music they listen to and little stuff like that, i think Dareus plays a big brother role to some of these youngsters (Darby included). It's very easy to look at Dareus not taking the NFL serious (and still getting paid) and have it rub off on other players. Before you Lynch me, I'm not saying it IS Dareus playing a factor im just saying that it can be one of 1000 different little things that can make a player regress. If he did good in this system last year, he should do good in this system this year. So it's not the playbook. It CAN be coaching though. It can be veteran leadership, it can be problems at home (like someone else suggested). Many things. I'm ok with him and White battling it out for a job but i also am kind of upset that Gilmore wasn't brought into the competition also cuz we all pretty much know, Gilmores been terrible.
  3. I agree but I'm not gonna throw Darby under the bus. I like that kid way more than any other cornerback we've had since McGee. I was never big on Gilmore. I'm not gonna say that i expected Gilmore to be afraid to tackle because, i mean, who would have? 1st round talent and he's afraid to tackle? It's pretty unheard of. I think Darby has played well enough to not be considered a failure at the position. As far as the topic at hand, i dont do the whole we will finish with this and that recird thing. I been taking a one game at a time approach this season. I normally have the schedule memorized during training camp, but this year i never know who we're playing after the game that's in front of us. I actually thought we were playing the Steelers after the bye lol so go figure. I think every game is winnable and i think you can lose every game. I never go in to a game handing a win to the opposing team, nor do i go in to a game confident that we'll win. I ONLY know the Bills and dont watch any other games so i can only have an approach to the game from OUR point of view. I think if the offense plays like they did on Monday and the defense can get pressure from the front 4, we can go toe to toe with the best of em. Winning against the refs is another topic.
  4. In the mind of "winning hurts your playoff chances" people.
  5. That's where the misconception comes in to play i believe. I dont think nobody in their right mind doesn't believe that Watkins is an extraordinary talent. The way we gameplan and distribute the ball is the issue which makes having superb talent on the team pretty much useless. Oh and staying healthy is a big part too. It's another reason why i believe we need to get Powell the ball more. The guy (to me personally) is a clone version of Stevie Johnson. We need to have this guy run slant routes (hopefully Tyrod can get rid of the ball quick so the poor kid doesn't die) and then we can stretch the field with Watkins and Goodwin and/or Woods. We also need to draw up plays for Goodwin where he hooks on the route and comes back to the QB. He pretty much shocked me on Monday and opened my eyes to new possibilities on how we can use him. It's not that we don't want Watkins back which some people fail to understand. It's that when he comes back, do we use the OTHER guys the way we should. THAT'S the question (without a question mark).
  6. No doubt.
  7. I agree that the scheme definitely plays a big factor if not THE factor in having a consistent offense. Also, i wasnt saying that adding a better player doesn't improve our offense. What im saying is, is that it doesn't excite me anymore because no matter the talent we bring in, they never get utilized the way they should (Charles Clay). The only major name player we've signed who is being used properly is Shady and that's only because Shady does what Shady does. He's a running back who has the ball a second after snapping the ball, unlike Charles Clay who has to run a route and wait for the QB to get him the ball. These days it's been more exciting watching an undrafted player like Alexander and a player like Zach Brown (who i dont think has been playing lights out as of late honestly), rather than a big signing like Charles Clay. I never expected Clay to have stats like Gronk or any other tight end that puts up big numbers, but i at LEAST expected him to get the ball at least 3 times a game. There's been at least 3 games this year alone where he finished the game with 0 catches. Am i correct? Isn't a tight end supposed to be a go to guy on 3rd and shorts? Yet before Monday night, we were and probably still are the worst in the league in 3rd and short situations. I still agree with you though. I believe it IS scheme and it's not a secret that we're a run 1st team. Nothing wrong with that, except that if we passed a bit more and a bit more efficiently, we can actually have some design runs from the I-formation instead of tosses and draws and zone reads from the shotgun. Don't get me wrong. Whatever we've done has been working stats wise as far as the run game. But it clearly lost us a couple games this year. Playcalls at the wrong time plays a part, but also the TYPE of run ALSO plays a part. I'm looking forwards to getting Watkins back. Why wouldn't i? Im just not excited to the point where i think if he returns, we're going to have a better offensive game than we did on Monday night. I hope we do though. If our offense is to become what we saw on Monday night, we can go toe to toe with the best of em.
  8. We can definitely use him but the thing that has me wanting to vomit with this team is, we know (or think we know) who can contribute to the offense and then they have bipolar games. I for one wrote Goodwin off years ago. But the game has me thinking, wow, he can ACTUALLY be a great WR. But, after heartbreak after heartbreak, I'm sure he will just look below average again against the Bengals. Robert Woods. Im a fan. I been a fan. That will not change. He's the most consistent WR we've had since Stevie Johnson. Charles Clay. We KNOW he has talent. We KNOW what he can do. But Tyrod sees him one week and doesn't see him for another 4 weeks. Watkins. AMAZING talent. No question. But we've gotten used to him not playing all 16 games. But when he DOES play, i feel like Tyrod looks to him more than the other receivers and tight ends which kind of narrows the playbook. The running game is solid. It's actually better than last year and last year apparently we led the league. I thought we would hurt by the loss of Karlos but I'm REALLY starting to like Gillislee. All in all. We never know which Bills offense is gonna show up. Adding a talent like Watkins back to the roster doesn't excite me anymore. Until Tyrod plays the way he did on Monday on a consistent basis, our offense will always be a question mark. Everything looks good with the offense when everything falls into place. Anthony Lynn HAS to call a great game, Robert Wooda just has to be Robert Woods (no worries there), Goodwin has to show that he is actually an NFL player, Tyrod has to be able to distribute the ball to different receivers and Watkins has to stay healthy. Adding a "better" player to the roster doesn't solve the Bills offensive struggles to me anymore is basically what I'm getting at. We just need to be consistent and we need to have an "identity". Opposing teams don't have to necessarily know what to look for when they play us, but they should at least know that we have weapons all over the field and not just Watkins when he returns. Does anybody gameplan for Charles Clay? I mean really. The answer is no because the Bills dont throw to tight ends. I dont watch All 22 film or anything like that so maybe someone who does can tell me. Is it Tyrod not seeing the tight ends, or is it the tight ends can't get separation?
  9. This joke is waaaaaaaaay too smart for me. I cant laugh cuz i just dont get it. Ok im back off to the Gilmore sucks threads. Peace.
  10. I learned not to give Rex credit last night. Just when i thought he was finally showing leadership and teaching Darby a lesson by pulling him from the game for playing bad, turns out Darby was not feeling well.
  11. I thought he was gonna say, at least we can't lose next week.
  12. How can the loss of Wood be huge?
  13. Anytime one of my buddies would tell me that the NFL was rigged, i would always shake it off and tell them, come on dude with your conspiracy theories. I know after watching YEARS of Buffalo Bills football games, that the refs actually DO favor the Patriots when we play them (for the majority of the times played), but i still never believed that the whole NFL was rigged. I'm still not gonna say that it's rigged, but not calling a roughing the kicker when it happened 10 feet away from the ref in his DIRECT line of sight, definitely has me scratching my head. And i shave my head so i have proof that i actually scratched it.
  14. I saw the guard doing wax on wax off all night. But yet Wood would always add "paint the fence, up, down" and BOOM, delay of game.
  15. Not like Tyrod EVER throws to those guys anyway smh.
  16. Can we like draft 4 corners and 3 wide receivers? That way we GOTTA hit on at least two of em. Then the following year we can draft 4 wide receivers (since we'll be calling for the head of the 1 we thought we hit on and Sammy will be hurt) and 3 offensive linemen. Year after that 4 offensive linemen and 3 defensive linemen (Since Marcel will receive another suspension and have a injury which can't be detected on an MRI). Oh and for God's Sake pick up a new kicker in free agency.
  17. Sucks that we lose Eric. I still want to know why he was taking forever to snap the ball though.
  18. Thanks man but i dont know if you heard or not but the Bills are already 4-5 for the season before even playing their 9th game. Yup. Bills fans gave the win to Seattle around here already. Smh.
  19. The reason why he gives the receivers a cushion is because the refs know that he will be holding as soon as he's at arms length of the receiver. It's just the way he plays. He holds. Nothing more to it. On the plus side, at least we have ONE good corner in Darby. I think Darby can go toe to toe with the best of em. Sad to say but, we need to give Gilmore Safety help on every down. I dont trust him as of late on one on one matchups and i have no reason to. About Dareus. Im not a fan of his personality in interviews in the past month honestly. I don't sense any regret or humbleness but, i can look past something as petty as a (personality) as long as he plays solid football when he's on the field. I know for sure when he plays, he's needed. So i can't hate on that. He's a great player. Nothing else to say except that i wish he was playing. Very different situations with Gilmore and Dareus. One has ZERO personality AND sucks lately and the other is a guy full of personality (but not the right kind as of late) and is a great player who you want on the field.
  20. So basically from what i understand, you guys are taking a "realistic" approach by handing the Win to Seattle correct? So basically you expect the Bills to lose and if we win it would be considered unexpected right? Ok got it. Smh.
  21. But what if you DID specify "good"? If this kid doesn't pan out its all your fault.
  22. I actually am pretty serious. Aaron Williams wasn't that great of a CB either and then shined at safety. I think at least it's worth a look. Doubt it will happen but it was just a thought.
  23. I understand that a coach is a very important role on a football team but Donnie Henderson isn't on the field holding the WR on every play and neither is Ed Reed and the other DB coaches. Even when Gilmore thought he was all that as you said, he still got called for holding numerous times. I know all cornerbacks do it but Revis mastered the way to do it so the refs couldn't see the hold. Gilmore isn't good enough to cover man to man against top receivers. He depends on safety help and as you saw on Sunday when he got beat, the 1st thing he did (before the receiver even reached the endzone which baffled me) was look back and complain about something (most likely not having safety help). He's better in zone coverage but im ok with drafting or getting a different cornerback in free agency next year. On a side note, since Aaron Williams is more than likely out for the season, I'd like to move Graham from corner to safety. He's a veteran player who knows the playbook and knkws his assignment and the assignment of a safety is easier than of a cornerback imo. That Blanton kid gives me nightmares. He just is not good at all. I wish Nickell Robey could grow about 3 to 4 more inches (pause) but he cant. I like Robey alot but he's just too short to contest jump balls against top receivers so moving him to Gilmore's spot wouldn't work. All in all, i agree Henderson was a good coach but players are the ones that take the field and i say, let's pray Gilmore can get away with some holding plays that he WILL do and deal with it this year but move on and save some money to get another player. I wonder how Gilmore would play as a safety. Maybe that could work too?
