Ouch! That five minute gag reel was painful! LOL But seriously, just looking at those 35 throws my gut feeling is about half of those misses are 100% on the receiver. The other half do have at least a small percentage up to 50/50 QB error in the mix, because of less than excellent ball placement. So at worst, gut feeling is those misses are 25% on Allen. I agree they were all catchable. I do think he makes average receivers look worse... Most throws in the NFL involve at least a little bit of receiver adjustment to the ball while it is in the air. Josh throws the ball so hard that an average receiver doesn't have time to take more than one step to adjust their route. Zay Jones has quicker feet and pretty good instincts, which helps him a bit. They need to continue to add receivers with uncanny instincts and twitchy/smooth quickness and good hands with just enough size to not be Isaiah McKenzie. That's pretty much a description of Antonio Brown, so I'm hoping all the issues in Pittsburgh are traced back to Big Ben, not AB and his character doesn't keep him out of Buffalo...

If Browns go QB at 1, we should work the three way with Browns at #4 and Giants at #2 so that we give whatever is necessary to get to #4 unless it's outrageous, then trade #4 and next year's 1st for #2. That way Giants know Barkley will be at #4 and they'll have two first rounders next year in case Eli really is finished. In addition to getting #2 this year, I'd want another Giants pick this year or next.

NEW Bills Stadium question
wakingfane replied to bills in oregon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow! Has a domer conversion taken hold or is this thread a matter of small sample bias? Because this question as you probably know is asked on the board at least once a year. I probably haven't clicked on one of the threads in years because it was a tired argument and the thread title was obviously about whether or not we should build a dome. BUT I can say rather confidently that when this question was asked 10-15 years ago the answer was at least 75% outdoor stadium. My vote is for outdoor stadium because the weather helps make games and memories special. Sure I've been there for the 10° cold night game Tom Brady Patriots drubbing. The 29° freezing rain Tom Brady Patriots drubbing, but I've also been there with my friends freezing our butts on the metal bleacher seats, watching Steve Tasker catch two receiving touchdowns over the Jets, and on beautiful warm fall days with blue skies and puffy clouds rolling through when the stadium feels like the greatest place to be on Earth and the early Jauron Bills strangled the Vikings offense, or the "not terribly cold for December" game when the TKO Bills held the Jeff Garcia Browns to negative yards passing, I wasn't there for the snow game this past year but on TV it sure was special. I wouldn't trade all those memories for comfort. -
Project QB's who DID reach potential

What about Joe Flacco? He had all the measurables with a high ceiling but there was no consensus that he would reach it. -
Your favorite 4-6 round picks
wakingfane replied to RocCityRoller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Logan Woodside, Toledo. He is the Rockets’ career record-holder for passing yards (10,514), touchdowns (93), and efficiency rating (162.9). He had a 29-9 record there and sits 12th on the FBS career efficiency list. -

New League to Start 2/19, sooner than XFL
wakingfane replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been wanting to see a minor league for the NFL that is based in regional cities/ college towns and is focused on skill /career development. Anxious to see the cities/markets but I trust these guys to deliver football, as opposed to whatever Vince McMahon dishes up -

I agree... I think they meant the team that is behind in score. I think that's the only explanation that really makes any sense -

I suppose this means that after a team scores and goes for two, they can either give the other team the ball at their 25 or they can keep the ball at their own 35 in a 4th and 10 situation... Same boom or bust scenario as an onside kick and usually only would be endeavoured by the team that is "losing" / behind in score -
Nate Peterman's performance against the Chargers
wakingfane replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even the DiMarco miss was 50% Peterman... Not to name name's but... Tyrod throws those passes low. Aaaaand... true to form, often throws those passes soooo low, being careful, that the RB has no way to make a play. Yay. -

What's the difference between a crappy lateral that bounces off the ground and a fumble... Intent? . Ah., Thanks seregil -
No responses?? Isn't this the reasonable viewpoint for anyone who wants to take this stuff seriously? No one American or group of Americans OWNS the flag or free speech. Or are the only hot takes the EXTREMES of one side or the other... I can understand the people who say it's all a joke, so I don't care what Shady wants to do. But if you take the issues seriously, how can you not accept both sides and move on? Or... Are we so entertained by arguing over it that we keep beating each other over the head with rhetorical bats until we are senseless exhausted, even though we might actually be ready to live and let live. None of that, Not on Twitter. It makes me nauseous. Sports please.

I support the players' choice to respectfully use the national anthem as their moment to make a statement. I agree with JK that Shady was disrespectful to the flag. I DO NOT see the players kneeling and allowing somber consideration to a National issue as disrespectful. Actions we agree AND disagree with are conducted under our flag and under the protection and empowerment provided by the government that flag represents. Yes it represents the people but it more closely represents the government: 50 States United in a Federal system. So yeah, using the flag for justice and freedom as well as consolidated power and authority is what happens every day all across this Country. Most of the players are making a serious effort to be part of that. Shady's choice was DUMB AT BEST
