  1. I agree. That defense went on a tear to keep the Ravens to 3 points. Defense won the game.
  2. Phew...dunno why i get so wound up with a 14 point lead.
  3. It takes time, dedication on offense to build a strong run game and this OC simply would rather throw. Nothing wrong with throwing a lot, just gotta be able to run when needed...and not just by the QB.
  4. We need a strong run game in times like this...as always my fervent wish
  5. He is already gone, Josh should check down to runs or run it himself
  6. 20 min ago there was only 7 min to go...now 5:30 need some xanax...
  7. Nothing new about this... kinda glad he will be leaving.
  8. Last season Daboll's / Buffalo Bills offense was ranked 23rd in points, 24th in yards. So, it's easy to see why some fans weren't happy with him. My take is I give Josh Allen more credit for his / Bills offense meteoric rise this season. As for his development I also credit Josh himself along with Jordan Palmer, Ken Dorsey over Daboll. Though I do admit that Daboll has called some really good games this season. Plus, the offense did make proper adjustments to the line to keep Allen clean against many teams this season. Is the latter from RT Williams (and CO)who has graded as the Bills best linemen. I simply don't see Allen pulling a Carson Wentz after Daboll is gone
  9. The problem was that Watkins made most of his plays / yards at Clemson from screen plays. Like to the tune of 70% or so. Which is kinda confusing because the Bills offense didn't run many screen plays back then.
  10. Or WR Mike Evans! Right after the first round there was chatter that the Bills were still looking to draft a big, tall red zone target. There are 16 NFL players from that 2014 NFL draft from the first round drafted after Watkins that have all made a pro bowl roster...Watkins never has. Best decoy in the league.
  11. Its complex. Remember what John Brown stated when he got to Buffalo, the most complex offensive scheme I've been in. Daboll runs the New England playbook only calling far more passes than NE (Josh McDaniel's)does. Josh Allen grew into this scheme in Buffalo because Daboll has called pass plays like he has a veteran QB under center from the start. He called plays that Nathan Peterman couldn't throw. He called the most deep passing plays Josh's first season with perhaps the very worst offensive line the last decade. Daboll has developed into being a top coordinator just as Josh Allen has grown into a top franchise QB. It is somewhat easier to game plan and call plays when you have one of the top 3 QB's in the league this season. Before Daboll moved upstairs to call plays he was on the sidelines sometimes yelling at Allen. Being a HC is not just game day managing, its being a leader of men while running the entire coaching staff. We will see if he is up to that. On another note, I hope he game plans / call plays better than he did for the Colts game...or has he already been checked out? If I'm McD I'd keep an eye on what's going on in the first half and if checked out...let Allen call his own plays like Kelly used to do.
  12. Very, very nervous... Then, I think that this is a "prime time" 8:15 NBC game unlike the Colts one o'clock game and I feel somewhat better knowing that Josh Allen usually seems to play so much better when the spotlight is brightest. Recently, Mon night 49ers 34-24 against a top defense, Sun night Steelers 26-15 against a top defense, 4:30 Denver against a top run defense 48-19, Mon night New England 38-9 against a top secondary. Sports sites saying that the highest paid secondary in the league were the Dolphins corners and Buffalos receivers didn't stand a chance, 56-26. Then, very very nervous again!
  13. Good stuff, although I'll focus on one area. The 2020 Bills offensive line has been so much improved this year over last season. RT Williams has been a god send. Big Jon playing well and that line is much better with him in there. The entire line played so well all season and against the Colts whos strength is their D line. Buffalo held their best player DeForest Buckner to two tackles and no sacks. Against the Steelers the Bills made some adjustments and took Cameron Hayward out of the mix, who also had only two tackles and no sacks. The Steelers have the #3 defense overall and a leading pass rusher in TJ Watt, 15 sacks. The Bills only allowed one sack in that week 14 game by Tyson Alualu. If we look back at the 2019 Ravens-Bills game, the Ravens went crazy blitzing Allen all game. The only response the Bills had was to attempt some deep throws to make them back off the blitzing. When those throws failed to work the Ravens stepped up their 50% of the time blitzing to 65%. How the Buffalo Bills handle the Ravens blitzing will be a big factor in this game IMO. If they can handle the Ravens like they handled the Steelers and Colts. The Bills just have so many weapons, Diggs simply can't be covered or stopped from what I've seen. Brown, Beasley, Davis, McKenzie, Singletary, Knox. If that line gives Josh Allen the time he needs... Look who the Ravens have played since week 13 loss to Pittsburgh, 6-10 Dallas, 11-5 Cleveland, 1-15 Jacksonville, 6-10 NY Giants, 4-11 Cincinnati. Yes, they beat 11-5 Titans who had the 28th defense in yards given up. Last week the Bills faltered a bit on offense and defense, didn't play their best and yet managed to win. If the Bills team, offense plays their best, like they did against the Patriots, Dolphins they should do well.
  14. Gotta be better than Mr Wildeyes. The Jets might actually be relevant next season. It will be tougher for Buffalo to sweep the division and also tougher for Belicheat too.
  15. This! I'd rather see Williams crashing thru that Ravens line too. Yeldon meh.
  16. Or the DC who gave up 48 points to the Browns... the Steelers came back to score 37 points with Ben throwing 68 times for 501 yards, 4 TDs, 4 INTs. So, it was all the OC's fault. Like in Miami when the Bills beat them by 56 in week 17. So Chan Gailey gets the nudge out the door. The HC lost control of A Brown, L Bell in the past and now Juju is dancing on opponents field emblems before games. Lets fire the OC tho. Think about one thing, HC Tomlin has had Big Ben his entire tenure as Steelers HC and look what happened last season when he didn't have him...
  17. After this last game against the Colts it's giving a lot or people pause to think the Bills might be on a downward trend now. 24-27 that the Colts could have easily won and perhaps should have won. 76 plays vs 58, 27 first downs vs 22, 472 yards vs 397. ToP 34:17 vs 25:43 The Bills just blew out the Dolphins the week previous and against the Colts they just kinda blew... The Josh Allen fumble at the end...the Bills were very lucky to have recovered that ball. Not kicking the FG, a missed FG. Josh Allen needed to carry the Bills offense as the Buffalo run game wasn't really a threat. So, It all comes down to who shows up on Saturday night. The Ravens will bring it along with their very good defensive secondary, blitzes and offensive run game. The latter is usually more productive in snowy, cold weather games. Hence the worry for Buffalo which is mostly a passing offense. Will the very good Buffalo offense show up? Like the one that destroyed the Miami highest paid CB's in the league and made them look silly. Like the one that put up 56 points against the #1 points allowed Miami Dolphins defense in week 17? Will the good Buffalo defense show up...like the one that made that Miami rookie QB look like a bust or the one that made old man Rivers look he was a youngster, no pressure on him really, no sacks, no INTs which he is noted to throw in big games. Will the Bills OC and DC remove their craniums from their posteriors and game plan better, call better games this week? If the good Buffalo Bills show up and score a bunch, get the lead and make the Ravens move away from their run game...while containing Lamar Jackson, their big TE Mark Andrews. If the Bills O line has an answer for that daunting Ravens blitz while giving Josh time to throw...it should a win. P.S. Let's not forget that a bunch of sites were saying that the Dolphins defense was going to shut down the Bills offense. Look what happened there.
  18. Philly has contacted Lincoln Riley, HC of Oklahoma who coached Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murry and Jalen Hurts. Jets have interviewed 12 candidates so far, 49ers DC Robert Saleh 2x, Marvin Lewis to the Jets? Chargers, Daboll as he has ties to their GM.
  19. I agree. Think about what's involved in talking to a team about being their new head coach and all that comes with it. It must take a great deal of presentation along with outlining your particular plan to make their team into a winner. Schemes, coaches you plan on hiring etc. All this probably takes a bunch of time away from the game planning you normally go though during a normal week. Yet, now you are in the playoffs and I'd imagine the film work only intensifies as does the practices. Lesie Frazier was also interviewed by the Texans and I gotta wonder if this same thing obstructed his game plan for the defense as the Bills gave up 472 yards to the Colts. The Ravens, as good as they are their defense and offense have been doesn't appear to have this problem with their coordinators. Neither did the Colts. So yea, no interviews until after a team is eliminated IMO.
