  1. My only prayer this doesn't go the way Chan Gailey handled it in 2010 by saying all three looked about the same. Then the Bills started the guy who looked the best in training camp-pre season, and ended up outright cutting him after two regular season games. Sorry I can't help it but Matt Cassel looks exactly like Trent Edwards with his "safe", and efficient check down passes that don't result in TD's. 6 of 7 for 38 yards... EJ went 7 of 8 for 170 yards, 2 TD's EJ or TT for me!
  2. I got a kick out of Rex Ryan & co that kept putting EJ into the game to see how he would do, and all he did was impress. I'll be kinda disappointed if EJ isn't the starter. No offense to Tyrod Taylor but he looked really good in Baltimore's pre season games, and not so great once he got to play in a real game. EJ only has 14 games under his belt being led by idiots who had no business running an NFL offense. Now imagine how much he can grow under real NFL coaches going forward, and with Shady McCoy running it, Sammy, Harvin & Woods catching it. Just my opinion.
  3. Precisely! I'm an EJ fan, and am hoping he gets the nod to start. I'm fine with any of them starting as long as the team wins, and would not like to see a revolving door at the position. With EJ starting I see Taylor getting some playing time in the wildcat, and 2 point conversions from time to time. Cassel 3rd string or cut to have Simms as 3rd string would be fine with me. That last sentence really gets me when the insiders here really throw hate / dislike from the FO on EJ basing their opinions from the buffoons with the previous coaching staff.
  4. Should the team start Cassel or EJ I can see Taylor getting lots of plays as a WC QB or going for 2 pts. I'll be kind of shocked to see Cassel as the "safe" option as starter
  5. I'd also start EJ mostly because he has the most upside to be that strong armed pocket passing franchise QB the Bills have been looking to find since Jim Kelly. I like Tyrod Taylor, and he does bring that excitement to the game in his ability to run when the pocket breaks down or there is nobody open. The problem I have is that very, very few running QB's have great success or longevity running the ball. Mike Vick is a good example as those running QB's usually don't last a season. Vick has played 12 years in the league, and only had one season where he played in all 16 games. He went 7-9 doing that. Colin Kaepernick is a taller version of Taylor, and like Vick has had difficulty in developing as a pocket passer. To even be mentioned with those two QB's Taylor would need to take a team to the playoffs. All the guy has done is what he has done before, looked good in pre season. RG3 is another example of a running QB with a history of injuries, and not adapting to becoming a pocket passer. Like I said, I'm hoping its EJ If Cassel gets the start I'll really start to question the coaches thinking
  6. I'm not listening to the radio, media or the insiders. I'm thinking Rex / Roman will start the right guy
  7. BTW, this years EJ is the result of having an actual NFL offensive coordinator coaching him. I am drooling over the thought of Shady McCoy, Sammy, and Woods playing in the opener. This years Bills offense should be able to keep step with Mr Luck
  8. Good thing the Bills don't want to show anything to the Colts, and played a vanilla offense. the bigger aspect might be the play of the offensive line now that the supposed o line guru is in Jacksonville. It amazes me what two decent OG's will do for a team. I yearn to have Pears, and Chris Williams back
  9. what a great game I can only hope we see many more like this during the season and to think that Shady, Sammy, Woods didn't play
  10. Good thing those insiders know everything there is to know....
  11. yea, i was just adding my 2 cents to what "mastershake"said.
  12. 7 of 8 for 170, 2 TDs ...can we get a good trade for him now?
  13. the entire offense is so much better in every aspect even with the backup RB's & WR's...447 yards of offense i suspect two quality OG's has a lot to do with that also
  14. Think they will be able to get a 4th for him when they trade him?
  15. Tell that to Greg Roman I don't call him meh as he is more of a taller Trent Edwards. trenty Sr
  16. That was the big reason for Jaurons failures every year as his team had so many injuries. Its also why Chan Gailey brought in extra trainers, and that didn't always help as players like Eric Wood went on IR every year his first four years. in 2009 only nine starters played in all 16 games
  17. Thanks for posting that! Quite contradictory from what some have been saying. I also understand why Ryan stuck with Geno with the Jets, and with that thinking it makes much more sense to start either Taylor or EJ.
  18. I certainly hope this info is wrong for many reasons, and I'm even hoping for perhaps the opposite.
  19. First, comparing EJ to Richardson is like comparing apples to watermelons. EJ was a 1st round pick at QB, and Richardson was a 5th round pick at OG. Young QB's are going to have bad games, and its from those bad games that they learn, grow, and develop. EJ was a known project at QB, and was supposed to ride the bench his first season until vet QB Kevin Kolb ended his career by tripping on a rubber mat!! EJ was from a very successful one read system in college, and any coach with a normal brain should understand the kid needs much more learning time then someone from a pro style college offense! Then not having a veteran QB on the roster for 2013 was almost as stupid as not having a QB coach with three young QB's on the roster. One rookie 1st rounder, one rookie undrafted, one player with a whole two games of experience all being led by an OC with no previous coordinator experience at the NFL level. His sole NFL coaching experience was one season as offensive quality control coach. EJ didn't start looking bad until the coaches changed the game plan for the Chargers & Houston games. EJ was 2-0 last year until his coaches went pass crazy, and then stopped running the ball after those first two games. Last years offense 579 passes vs 402 rushes while having the 26th offense in yards. Most games last year the coaches were forcing the QB to throw around 40 times, and ran the ball around 20 times. Think about that for a min, as most RB's by themselves usually need around 20 carries to get into a decent rhythm. LeSean McCoy usually had some really good games when given the ball 20 plus times. Speaking of that Fred Jackson was 7 for 33= 4.7 YPC avg against Houston, and yet only saw the ball 7 times. Spiller went 15 for 60 which was still 4.0 YPC avg, and yet the coaches had the inexperienced 2nd year QB throw 44 times that game. I've read that Leroi stated that EJ was a disaster in that Houston game. EJ was under constant pressure all game, and JJ Watt had a career high nine hits on EJ that game. What the real disaster was in that game was the game plan, and offensive line! Oh BTW that 5th round pick at OG was starting for that game, and was benched for Urbik not long after. At that particular time the Bills were fielding the very worst offensive line in the entire NFL. Five dropped passes by the receivers, and multiple penalties by the O line didn't help in that game. The final score of that game was only 17-23, and the Bills were in that game until the very end. That Houston game was a game the Bills could have won with a better game plan. The Bills had the better RB's, and defense. I have no idea what this current coaching staff is thinking in terms of the QB for this season. Starting Matt Cassel might be the safer choice if all you are aiming for is a winning season, and that prospect is somewhat iffy considering Cassel's injury history along with some really bad seasons at KC.Lets not forget that at the end a healthy Cassel was benched in favor of Brady Quinn. Taylor looks to be an exciting play maker, and should be so until any injury to his wheels forces him to be strictly a pocket passer...then what? I would think that further trying to develop that #1 pick at QB with only 14 games under his belt should be the primary concern here, and hopefully it is!
