Seriously? Go back and look at the Bills first half passing yards the last five games. 15-20 129 1 td rushing 1 TD passing 1 int is way better then under 50 yards -
Week 6 predictions: Bengals at Bills
Nihilarian replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The last time a Rex Ryan defense faced the Bengals was the 2013 and the Jests lost that game 49-9. Dalton throwing for 5 TD passes. 35-10 , you decide -
Running At The Mouth
Nihilarian replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't equate stating the truth as speaking lowly. The Bills defense under Ryan is a far cry from what it was last year. 18th in total defense, 23rd in passing defense, 20th in sacks this year so far, 27th in sack percentage. Then considering all the money that front four is getting paid along with all those first & second round picks on that defense. I'd say calling them mediocre was a really nice way of saying they kinda stink, and are under performing. Yes, Tyrod also stunk for a lot of that game, and if it weren't for his heroics at the end the Bills don't win that game. All QB's need a solid supporting cast of players around them in order to succeed, and Tyrod clearly doesn't have that! The Bills RB's had 17 rushes for 50 yards meaning they really stunk. The leading receiver for the entire game was Hogan with 3 rec for 52 yards and a TD. The QB was the leading rusher with 8 attempts for 76 yards, and one TD. Taylor set a franchise record for all his running that day. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2015/10/16/tyrod-wins-clutch-player-of-the-week/ -
When you are a young player that a team used three draft picks on to obtain you should expect to be the highlight of the offense. Last years OC stated they would use Sammy as a decoy, and I can understand that given their limited knowledge of running an NFL offense. But this year Sammy should be the highest priority target in the passing offense every game, and not used as a decoy. I don't blame the guy for voicing his opinion as he will never be great or get into the HoF as a decoy, and every player wants greatness. Right now Sammy is a victim of no franchise QB just yet, and things could still change in the near future. Still, Mr Watkins needs to get healthy, and start playing in games before he starts complaining about not getting the ball. I dunno, idle hands...

Running At The Mouth

Not for nothing but Rex is noted for his building a top defense, and this year with four all pros on the D line his defense is only mediocre right now. Last year with the Jets Ryan stated he lost because the QB let the team down in Geno Smith. This year the Bills are winning because they have a QB that finds ways to make plays and win games. That Titan game was all Tyrod, and his sheer will to win. #4 in the NFL in rushing mostly because of a running QB, and he led the team in rushing last game. I would hate to think of what this years team would look like with Matt Cassel as the starter -
The Curse of Freddie
Nihilarian replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know about a curse but it does say something about "Karma" if Freddy was right in that Whaley told him his job was safe, and then dumped him. This off season there was speculation that Jackson would be released, and he had the Steelers ready to sign him. The Patriots also wanted to talk with him. He had teams ready to sign him then, and the Pegula's stepped in and said no. Dunno why the team would go ahead and build an ad campaign for this season with Fred as the spokesman, and then abruptly cut him. Anyway, Karma's a B word! -

Like Marv used to say, "let what you do on the field speak so loud that nobody hears what you say!" Rex may as well run his mouth because that's about all this team can run right about now. I'm not a big fan of we are going to build a bully Schtick! -

Its scary how many Bills starters on offense are questionable this week against a 5-0 team. Clay Harvin Watkins Karlos Hogan Tyrod -
Watching NFL insiders on ESPN Bill Polian has his list of Championship Indicators going solely by the stats. Yards per pass attempt Points allowed per game Turnover margin Kicking efficiency 3rd down efficiency offense 3rd down efficiency defense QBR Going by the current numbers the top ten teams most likely to win the SB this year! New England Patriots 4-0 Arizona Cardinals 4-1 Green Bay Packers 5-0 Cincinnati Bengals 5-0 NY Jets 3-1 Denver Broncos 5-0 Atlanta Falcons 5-0 Cleveland Browns 2-3 Pittsburgh Steelers 3-2 Tennessee Titans 1-3 Jets, Browns, Titans really? Clearly the 3-1 Jets, 1-3 Titans have no business on this list and are mostly there because of their defensive stats. Then going solely by the teams each team has faced so far this season this list is probably way off the reality. The Broncos might be 5-0 but unless Manning and the run game finds themselves they might be in trouble. The Broncos defense just took a hit with Ware being injured and out for a few games. Then the Patriots just lost LT Nate Solder to the IR. Not on the list for various reasons, Carolina is 4-0 Indy is 3-2 NY Giants 3-2 Buffalo 3-2 Anyway, Polian said they would revisit the stats / teams again in a few weeks, and the end of the season is a long way off. Again, this is list was based solely on the numbers. (Lies, damned lies and statistics!)

Will Kromer's return help the OL?
Nihilarian replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Offensive line is all about technique, and five playing as one. If the coach isn't there to do his job to help them then the players might not play to their potential. I'd imagine its the same with any positional coach not being there for the players. Only this time there is a rookie at RG, and a 2nd year at RT who needs some serious help. -
Source: EJ Manuel to start Sunday for Tyrod Taylor
Nihilarian replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here is one for the stat fans! The last time Andy Dalton, and the Bengals faced a Rex Ryan defense in the Jets two years ago. The final score was 49 to 9, and Dalton threw 5 TD's that game. It might not matter who is starting at QB for Buffalo. -
Bucky: Trading Cassel doesn’t look good right now
Nihilarian replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perhaps you didn't watch the pre season games but a lot of Bills fans think EJ did enough to win the starting job, as did Tyrod Taylor. I would think that out right cutting Matt Cassel a week before the season started would show how much confidence the team had in Taylor, and in EJ as the backup QB. Let me ask a question here. How much did the Buffalo Bills value Matt Cassel to outright cut him a week before the season starts? As much as the Colts value Josh Johnson? and if the Colts could've gotten a draft pick for Johnson don't you think they would have? EDIT: If you watched NFL insiders on ESPN Bill Polian talks about the circumstances regarding Cassel, and the fact that many in the Bills FO thought Cassel would win the starting job. Then they discovered that in fact he played himself out of the job. Which is why they initially cut him. The current QB in Dallas is Brandon Weeden who has lost his last nine starts at QB. How about we cry over the loss of the bum when he actually wins a game for the Cowboys. -
Bucky: Trading Cassel doesn’t look good right now
Nihilarian replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As bad as Cassel has played in different years I can reconcile Whaley signing him by giving the two young inexperienced QB's a veteran presence on the roster. In the right situation Cassel has shown to be an effective QB to a degree, (under ex Patriots OC's) so I can understand signing him in the off season. Then once the pre season began and we all saw what we could expect to see from him in Buffalo it was the right thing to do to dump him. JMO -
Do we know which coaches wanted Cassel?

Bucky: Trading Cassel doesn’t look good right now
Nihilarian replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree, as most Bills fans realize that the Bills offensive line is kinda crappy right now, and so is the run game with Boobie, and another lamb off the PS. The Bills offense is basically in shambles with injuries, Shady, Sammy, Karlos, and i have to wonder if Percy isn't hurting the way he hasn't gotten separation recently. OTOH the Cowboys have the leagues best offensive line and would be able to protect Cassel better then Buffalo would. But then again we will be laughing when we see Cassel throwing safe five yard outs all game. -

Nihilarian replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Please don't equate Cassel to Tom Brady or either Manning, as Matt can't* hold any of their JS's! Cassel sucks, and all he would do in Buffalo as the starter is dump the ball off three times for nine yards per series. Lets look at Matt Cassel in 2009 on the Chiefs when he went 4-11 while throwing 16 TD's & 16 INT's. In 2011 he went 4-5 with 10 TD's & 9 INT's. His worst season was in 2012 where he went 1-7, and threw 6 TD's & 12 INT's. He was later a healthy bench for Brady Quinn If you watched him play in the pre season games he was given every chance to become the starter, and instead the Bills cut him outright. Then they brought him back for league min. -

Nihilarian replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not voting because the choices are kinda lame. Statuesque Cassel wouldn't survive long behind the current state of the Bills offensive line along with the decrepit state of the Bills RB situation. The Bills did the right thing in trading away a square block from a round hole. A blind man could have seen he wasn't a fit in a Bills uni. Then the Bills FO must be supremely confidant in EJ's ability to dump Cassel. Although EJ is being put in a very, very difficult situation against the undefeated Bengals considering the current state of the offense. I hope he tears them up with Clay, Sammy, Percy, and Robert! On a side note i'm very glad that the ex Patriot QB is long gone from Buffalo, and it wouldn't surprise me at all to hear that good old Matt also gave some info about his new team to his old team the cheaters. -
I honestly don't think EJ can live up to the expectations that Taylor has brought to the offense with his legs. The Bills are completely devoid of a decent run game with no Freddy, no McCoy, No Karlos, and the new guy just brought up is now on IR. All he has now is slomo Boobie. The Bills should seriously look at Ray Rice, and some new talent for the O line. RG-RT. Looks like Harvin is playing hurt because he can't seem to get any separation at all. But then again if the kid didn't do that bad in Mr Can't Hackett's offense for two games... then perhaps he can survive for a game or two.

When St Doug was the Jets O line coach his players did very well, and RB Curtis Martin loved what the line was able to do for him. A man has got to know his limitations!

Chris Mortensen: Matt Simms turned Bills down

Yea, once TT is back he would be gone, as will Josh whoever He probably relishes the chance to be a backup of a star QB on a winning team, and learn the right way to do things
