  1. The 2024 Buffalo Bills defense was not so good and the only reason they made it to the AFC Championships game was because of that absurd +24 turnover ratio that led the league. Shoot, the Buffalo offense had four fumbles and didn't lose one. The Chiefs had one turnover in that game, but it wasn't enough. That kind of differential is usually unsustainable game after game in the NFL each week. I'll admit it was frustrating watching the Bills' defense not get enough pressure on Mahomes in that game, and this allowed the Chiefs to score more points than they had all season in any game. I'll also admit I relished watching the Eagles destroy that KC offense with Patty running for his life. That game wasn't as close as the score suggests as the Bird's defense took their proverbial foot off the gas in the 4th quarter as it was 34-6 at that time. I couldn't help my desire for the Buffalo Bills to run that style of defense with Vic Fangio calling the defensive plays. That guy was the Miami DC just a short season ago and at one time I do believe that the Bills attempted to hire him and he chose the smelly fish instead. Press the Chiefs receivers at the line drop into zone coverage and only rush that front four. And, the Eagle's defense did all that without ever blitzing Mahomes at all. Not once on all his drop backs in that game did they ever blitz...amazing!
  2. It's not about ONE all-pro or generational player, it's all about "teamwork" just look at some of the scrubs at QB that have won an SB. Jeff Hossenfeffer...Mark Ripen, Jim McMaham, Brads Johnson, Trent Diilfer, Nick Folio. This year the Bills might not have even made the playoffs if not for their unbelievable turnover ratio which led the league at +24, so while the defense wasn't that good and didn't have a "generational" player on it...they did well, and it took TEAMWORK!. And yes, they had the MVP in Josh Allen because, during the course of the season, he made some amazing plays. Like running for a TD, passing for a TD, and throwing/catching a TD pass. The draft is a crapshoot and even the best-graded player might not be worth a damn because you really never know what's between their ears or in their chest, with desire or passion. My old adage in finding the best... is to look for the man amongst boys and try and find out what's in their hearts.
  3. While no one knows but Beane and his crew I'm sure that he tried to trade up with every team to draft Josh Allen. He had a deal with Denver #5 but the guy they wanted was still there. I'm pretty sure if that draft was redone every team would have drafted Josh Allen. Just think, the Brownies passed on him twice. What an inept org. That with the worst QB trade in NFL history. A 5 year 230 million guaranteed contract for a rapist and is owned 46 million in each of the next two seasons. How effed can you get...somewhere JaMarcus Russell is smiling. Be happy you're not a Browns fan...
  4. I can recall the time before the 2018 draft and this entire board was going ape wanting the Bills to give up the farm in order to trade up to the #2 spot with the NY Giants to draft QB Josh Rosen. Cleveland took QB Baker Mayfield #1 overall. NY Giants took RB Saquon Barkley #2 NY Jets took QB Sam Darnold #3 Cleveland took CB Denzel Ward #4 Denver took DE Bradley Chubb #5 Indy took OG Quinton Nelson #6 Buffalo took QB Josh Allen #7... and most Bills fans were talking like they were "gut punched" because they didn't draft Rosen. What do Bills fans know? Brandon Beane stood his ground at #7 and got his man. Buffalo went after a generational talent in Von Miller, and did it again with Joey Bosa. The Bills are always changing the players/roster, coaches, scouts in an attempt to improve the team. the ONLY NFL team to win more games than the Buffalo Bills the last 5 seasons have been the KC Chiefs.
  5. Buffalo has been in the playoffs every season since McD/ Beane since 2017, 7 of 8 seasons. Three 13-win seasons and 5 division titles. Pretty GD consistent, IMHO. Usually, drafting in the later rounds every year, and the one thing that defines a great GM is his ability to find a franchise QB! This QB didn't fall into his lap because of an early draft slot. Beane traded up many times to draft Josh Allen! Then, when the majority of this board and the talking heads were all so certain that the more accurate Josh Rosen was the better QB draft choice. Beane got his guy, and what a guy he is, the best QB in the NFL! The next more important positions are the LT/offensive line to protect that franchise QB, and Buffalo currently has one of the very best O lines in the NFL with good depth I might add. Jeez, if not for the defensive injuries and a boneheaded DC calling the wrong old-fashioned defensive scheme, this team would have probably been to the SB more than once in the last few years. The last two season-ending games ended by 3 points each. Brandon Beane swung for the fences when he signed a supreme pass rusher like Von Miller to a huge contract, and it's certainly not the GM's fault that Von suffered such a horrific injury. So much of getting to a Super Bowl also depends on just having some freaking good luck. And getting by the stinking Kansas City Chiefs, who have been the most winning team in the NFL the past five years, and the Buffalo Bills have been the second winningest team. Sure, by all means, criticize whine piss B word and moan about not getting to a SB yet. It's not like this HC/GM hasn't made changes in attempting to better the team every year. Changing DC's, OC's players, coaches and even the trainer. Unlike the 90s Super Bowl teams, this regime didn't inherit a generational pass rusher who leads the NFL in sacks. Lastly, if Howie Rossman were the GM of a team in the AFC, I have my doubts he would get by the Chiefs, save perhaps this past season. Just my 2 cents.
  6. Brown is a clown!
  7. Doesn't matter, in less then a day after being released he signed with the Falcons.
  8. From what I've heard he fell off a cliff at the end of the season. Plus, he was the one on ST that drew the penalty against Denver that cost Buffalo that game. Reasons...
  9. Buffalo checked a box on their biggest need in a big time pass rusher! Brandon Beane pointed his bat to the upper stands and took a Babe Ruth type swing...we will see. All the whiners out there gotta remember that Kahlil Mack got 18 million guaranteed. Mack stated that he was considering retirement and you know what they say about an NFL player "thinking" about retirement. The biggest reason as to why the Chargers outright cut Bosa was to free up 25.26 cap space. Then the Chargers thought they had a shot at Leonard Floyd. Bosa has said in the past that he would like to retire as a Charger...probably thought the outright cut was a slap in the face.
  10. Buffalo just landed their CLOSER! Much needed!
  11. Why not him also...just don't let him play on ST!
  12. OMG is all I can say to this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...in a good way...good stuff. Now hopefully this new trainer can find a way to keep him healthy!
  13. SWEET! Great to hear for the best 3rd down back in the NFL
  14. Micah Parsons and Trey Hendrickson are both talking to their agents now...
  15. Russini reported that the Seahawks were seeking a first- and a third-round pick in exchange for Metcalf, an admittedly high price to pay for an aging wideout. For reference, that’s roughly what the Eagles gave up for A.J. Brown in 2022. Metcalf is also reportedly seeking a contract extension worth around $30 million per season. DK Metcalf Has Three Simple Criteria for His Next Team, NFL Insider Says
  16. This guy was good on a trash defense...imagine!
  17. Opposing teams thought Kincade was going to be a big part of the 2024 Buffalo passing offense and they worked to take him out of games. Everyone thought that Kincade was going to be a main target for Joah Allen in his second season. Torn PCL in week ten came when chasing down an inaccurate throw. With Kincade only 69% of targets overall thrown to tight ends with over 200 targets were catchable. Then when Kincade was targeted 10 or more yards down the field only 37% of the targets were catchable. Can Dalton Kincaid Become the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen’s Key Offensive Weapon? - YouTube
  18. This! If Beane finds a way to fill all the defensive needs and get Metcalf, I'm in! Still, to me, the defense has to be the priority this offseason. I dun wanna see DK in a Chiefs uni either though.
  19. Well said. What some Bills fans fail to realize is that Brian Daboll is now the failing HC of the NY Giants. Joe Brady is currently the Buffalo Bills OC and he runs a more balanced offensive game plan. In some games, the Bills run far more than they pass the ball for a reason as that particular team might be more susceptible to the run. The Seahawks game last year, 34 passes, 34 runs. The Arizona game had 33 runs, 24 passes. Against the 49ers in the snow, 38 runs, 18 passes!!!!! Least we forget that the QB of this team just won MVP with the current WR corps. "Everybody Eats" worked! What they also fail to realize is this team is damn close and has been the last few years. Its like lady luck has taken a crap on Buffalo in the Chiefs games in losing both games by 3 points. One a missed FG and the next a dropped pass. This team isn't one overpriced WR away from a Super Bowl. However, they are a few players away on defense. A DT, A CB, A pass rusher or two. a Safety.
  20. Ahhh, least we forget the 13 seconds that Frazier went into a "prevent defense" that prevented Buffalo from winning that game. Such Imfamy! Greatest game ever, 36-42.
