  1. This would be hilarious if it weren't the team I want to see win! Anyone think if he hires another ten coaches the team might be able to beat a team with a winning QB? The really sad thing here is I don't think the owners are unhappy with thier HC hire.
  2. It makes no sense to bench Tyrod. What does make sense is benching Ryan's defense! Believe it or not, there is still a slight chance the 2016 Buffalo Bills make the playoffs. The Bills haven't beaten a winning QB all season and yet face three scrubs in the next three weeks. So, Bills fans should rejoice that the team will finish 9-7 and the Rex Ryan fans will be doing backflips. The Bills probably keep the Ryan Bros should the Bills finish 9-7.
  3. I like this year's version of Rex Ryan as he has kept his mouth shut and his foot out of it most of the time. That could all change as soon as this team wins the next three games against bad teams or should I say teams with not so good QB's. Like Dr Doom said, he had his chance with the #4 defense on a 9-7 team and did some things right and a lot of things wrong for a 7th year HC who was in his second NFL head coaching stint! Rex did find a starting QB and brought in the first all pro-OG this team has seen since Ruben Brown and really wanted to sign another in La'el Collins who signed with Dallas instead. What we don't know is how much effort Doug Whaley put into landing Collins because those two players could have elevated this offensive line to the heights of the early 90's. This was the good stuff. The bad stuff was his big mouth and he kept stuffing his foot in it almost every week taunting opposing teams in various ways in his first year in Buffalo. Ruining a great defense in an attempt to fit an outdated scheme on players that didn't fit his scheme. That defense going from first in the NFL in sacks with 3 of the 4 players making the pro bowl in 2014 to none making the pro bowl and 31st in sacks under Rex Ryan. Many, Many Penalties on both sides of the ball. Miscommunication between players on defense so they looked out of position when the ball was snapped. Late play calls and late substitutions on the defense as Rex was the one calling the plays. The coaching staff putting in what looked like very little game planning effort on any team outside of the division in many games. Both years under Rex Ryan his supposed defensive genius mind has allowed his defense to set franchise-worst records for the Buffalo Bills. Against Tom Brady in week two in 2015 with a fully healthy team! The Bills allowed a franchise-worst 466 yards passing and 3 TDs. Those yards are the most by any single passer against a Bills defense in the 46-year history of being in the NFL. And the next franchise-worst was against the Steelers on Sunday when his defense allowed a Buffalo Bills franchise-worst 236 yards, 3 TDs to Le'Veon Bell which BTW was also Steelers franchise best. Things aren't going to get any better under Rex Ryan unless his teams can play a full 16 games against bad teams or teams with bad QB's. Expect the Bills to win the next three games and attitudes around here will turn 180 degrees and he stays for 2017.
  4. I can see the Bills winning the next three, Browns, Miami and the Jets finishing 9-7. At the end, we all know even if the Bills should somehow make the playoffs they won't even look good in losing to whatever team they face. Seems like It's Buffalo Bills karma that this should happen and Rex and Rob will be with us for another abysmal season. So many will be cheering Rex for another year because we beat up three crappy teams to finish with a winning record. I still want to see them win no matter what.
  5. Interesting stuff and the man does seem like he left the NY Giants with something to prove. Another thought is that If there is one man who knows how to beat the Patriots It's Coughlin. The guy does favor a 4-3 defensive scheme and likes to build a stout run game. He also knows what assistant coaches to hire and although it was his defense that failed him in 2015, 30th in pts allowed, 32 in yards allowed. The NY Giants kept the same DC in Steve Spagnuolo and that defense is much better this year 7th in pts, 14th in yards. I'd be for hiring him for whatever he wants to do. Buffalo is currently 7th in team penalties and although it's not as bad as last season in #2, those damn things can kill a drive or stop fast. Coughlin would bring some serious discipline to Buffalo.
  6. This is correct as the Bills just have different playmakers at different positions. Seahawks in the secondary and Buffalo on the D-line. Let's not forget that Lorenzo Alexander was the leading sacker in the NFL for most of this year and the Bills has the #1 pass rush for a while. These past two weeks against a good team Ryan's defensive scheme has been exposed as an inferior scheme that can't rush the passer against a good O-line. No sacks on Derek Carr or Big Ben. The Bills defense seems to be able to either shut down the passer or stop the run but can't seem to do both at the same time. By this same token Jim Schwartz held the league's MVP passer in Aaron Rodgers to 17 of 42 for 185 yards, no TDs, 2 INT's a 34.3 rating. That year Rodgers threw for 4381 yards, 38 TD's and only 5 INT's! While the 2016 Bills defense managed almost a similar feat against Big Ben, that 2014 defense didn't allow a 100-yard rusher much less 236 yards, 3 TD's.
  7. What makes this leak more interesting is that the Bills announced a 4:40 PC to say that Tyrod Taylor would remain the starting QB. But also at that time it was known that Kim Pegula would be on twitter talking to fans about Rex Ryan. I suspect the Pegula's love the guy and have no desire to fire him just yet and someone wanted these owners to see what the fans were saying. Just some thoughts.
  8. Really? Rex called the defensive plays in 2015 and Dennis Thurman is calling them this year. Simply google 3/4 two-gap vs one-gap to comprehend the difference between the two schemes and then perhaps understand that Rex was completely foolish for utilizing the wrong scheme for most of 2015. There is literally no question as to which scheme he used the majority of the time in 2015 to be 31st in sacks. This fact was pointed out by an ex-NFL player. Nor is it that difficult to understand that the defense has been using more of a one-gap scheme this season to be #5 in sacks this year. The Bills defense in as little as two weeks ago was #1 in sacks and had the leading sacker in Lorenzo Alexander who is now 6th. The Bills want to stop the run they simply switch from the one-gap scheme to pass rush scheme to a two-gap scheme to stop the run and this makes it very difficult for any team to gain a lot of yards on the ground. Clearly, the Bills coaches were more intent on stopping Ben Rothlisberger all game then they were in stopping Le'Veon Bell. Big Ben was kinda shut down as he went 17 of 31 for 220 yards, 0 TDs and 3 INTs. Bell, on the other hand, had almost 300 yards of offense with his record setting 236 yards rushing, 62 yards receiving. Granted, whoever let it slip to the media that Rex Ryan might be fired after this game if they are blown out by the Steelers might have influenced this game quite a bit. It sure impacted the Bills players as they seemed to lack any kind of fire that you would normally see in a team fighting for a playoff spot. And it may have influenced the Bills coaches to not allow the Steelers to get their potent passing game going in which they could easily roll up a big score.
  9. I hope they sign him as he deserves a shot at HC. As for Buffalo if they make a change again I hope it's for someone with a winning NFL record as HC.
  10. Hunter currently leads the Bills in receiving TD's with four... Goodwin has 3 Watkins has 1 Clay has 1 Woods has 1 Salas has 1 McCoy has 1 Gillislee has1 Hogan has 32 receptions for 632 yards, 4 TD's and looking at the current state of the Bills receiving corps I'd say Buffalo could have really used a guy who was nicknamed 7/11 this season. If anyone is overpaid it's Clay. Now that the Patriots lost Gronkowski for the year and Amendola for a time and Edelman can't seem to catch anymore I think Hogan will really start to shine for NE. Against the Ravens, Hogan had 5 rec for 129 yards, 1 TD. You guys think what you want.
  11. The Bills offense has been stymied quite a bit this year and when the run game fails it all falls on the QB to make plays. Looking at Hogan's play from last year and the fact that the kid caught more first down passes than any other pass for Buffalo I tend to think Tyrod Taylor misses him a great deal this year. Plus, Chris Hogan was basically the only healthy Bills receiver for all of 2015 and still is healthy for the Patriots this year. So, I don't get why anyone would think he is anything like the current glass WR's on the Buffalo roster, excluding Woods. Look, I don't really care that Hogan is now a Patriot. What I do care about is GM Doug Whaley allowed him to leave and like with other positions didn't adequately replace him with an equal or better talent. There is a real reason as to why the Patriots went after him and signed him for so much money and it's because the kid makes the clutch catch and can stay healthy!
  12. Good luck with this as Brandon is more of a fixture at OBD than Ralph Wilsons statue. I get the impression from hearing the Pegulas talk about the team that they are still very enamored with Rex Ryan and can't understand why Bills fans don't love him. At this point I kinda doubt any change happens any time soon.
  13. I think it's not unusual that so many Bills fans bought into that story about Rex Ryan getting fired after the Steelers game on Monday if the Bills are blown out. And that TT will be benched and Cardale Jones will start the last three games. Then, kinda strange that the Bills call for a press conference at 4:40 just to announce that TT is still the starting QB. Anyone else it was unusual that Kim Pegula is on twitter at around that very same time wanting Bills fans input into the assumed firing of Rex and the benching of TT? If someone at OBD leaked this story to the press they really screwed the team because it looked like the players all bought into it as the entire team seemed to lack a spark or purpose even though the team is still fighting for a playoff spot.
  14. Some fans would rather disparage the QB then acknowledge that Chris Hogan would have been a great asset to have in Buffalo this year.
  15. JAG... who caught the TD bomb that was the difference in the game for the Patriots against the Ravens! JAG, that caught more passes for first downs than any other pass for Buffalo. Yea, Tyrod Taylor couldn't have used him this year as they have had Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods, Marcus Easley, Walter Powell, Percy Harvin all year and the Bills passing offense is 31st...oh wait!
  16. #1) totally wrong as the Bills defense focused on stopping Big Ben and the Steelers passing game while never changed their defensive scheme. Just by playing a two-gap more the Bills D could have done so much better against Bell and should have considering the weather conditions. This year's defense is now currently ranked 18th and 28th against the run. Complete and utter coaching failure! #2) Rex Ryan would argue with you as he thinks Tyrod is the man for the job as the Buffalo Bills starting QB and when Tyrod is on and the run game is working the Buffalo offense is tough to stop. #3) new Bills OC Anthony Lynn has had some games just like Greg Roman did in the first two weeks and since there isn't another viable OC waiting in the wings the team stays the same. IMO Lynn has made some rather bad calls in different situations, Take that Raider game for example as the Bills had the ball on their own 4-yard line so Tyrod is in his own end zone as Lynn calls a shotgun pass play. This, knowing that RT Mills in a turnstile and Khalil Mack has been getting beaten like a drum! Should have given Mills some help with Mack and should have never called a pass play in that situation as 99% of other NFL team would call a run to give the Bills offense some breathing room. There have been several games since Lynn took over that the run game faltered and Lynn had no answer to get the offense going but put it all on the QB. This!
  17. Someone remind me why the Bills didn't resign Chris Hogan!
  18. My point was the Bills offensive line is not as good as the stats say IMO mostly because of a running QB and LeSean McCoy has had some unreal games against some bad defenses. This Steeler game Mccoy was held to 12 carries for 27 yards a 2.3 yard per carry average. Now granted this was without Glenn who left early with an injury and Cujo replaced him. Woods was not in there either as he was replaced by Groy and Mills and Miller are simply not good enough. This same thing reared it's ugly head against different teams this season. In the Miami game where I think McCoy had a hamstring issue, McCoy 8 rushes for 11 yards, Gillislee 5 rushes for 20 yards and Tyrod Taylor was the leading rusher with 7 attempts for 35 yards, one TD. Again against the Ravens the Bills had only 24 rushes for 65 yards and against the Jets 19 rushes for 86 yards and this game got Greg Roman fired. I used to look at the 49ers with envious eyes until the moron for a GM dismantled a great run blocking line (ranked 27th now)and now I look at the Dallas Cowboys who have that distinction. The Dallas Cowboys have the exact same run first offense and yet are doing so much better with better players and better coaching. I don't think much of Bills OC Anthony Lynn anymore because he hasn't found a way to get the offense working when opponents shut down the Bills run game. Plus, against the Raiders the Bills had the ball on their own four-yard line and Lynn calls for a pass play on first down deep in their own territory when 99% of other NFL OC's would call a run play to get the offense some breathing room. Then, in knowing the Bills offense was forced to pass the ball they didn't give much help to Mills at RT who was getting owned by Khalil Mack. Cam Robinson will probably be a top 10 pick and thus be out of reach for the Buffalo Bills this next draft. However, the Bills might have a shot at Ryan Ramczyk or Garet Bolles. Alas, If Whaley is still the GM expect a safety to replace Aaron Williams and if Rex is still here expect the next two picks to be for the defense again this draft.
  19. This whole thing was probably a ploy from Brandon to see how the fan base would react. All it did was prompt the Rams to fire their HC first so they could pursue Harbaugh.
  20. Good lord, I'm agreeing with peterpan... Pay the guy 10 to 15 mill per. EDIT: Kirk Cousins would do for #1 & #2 Move freaking Russ Brandon over to the Sabres and keep him out of the football stadium entirely or at some point he is going to want to be the head coach.
  21. This! Bill Belichick is an evil genius that can make anyone look good at QB in his offense and he just wants draft picks for these scrubs..and he gets them! The only reason the Bills lost to the Patriots this year was because they were forced to start a rookie, third string QB who was injured and went on IR after that game. I would prefer to see the Bills trade away picks to move up to the top 3 to draft a QB or get Kirk Cousins.
  22. I agree with this and must say that Greg Roman was made to be the scapegoat. just look at what happened this week against the Steelers as Tyrod came out throwing. The Bills offensive and defensive lines were manhandled! LeSean McCoy 12 rushes for 27 yards a 2.3 yard per carry average. Now granted the line lost Glenn early on and with Groy at center, Cujo at LT, Mills and Miller this O-line couldn't move anyone off the line. Still, the Bills had no answer in getting their run game going. The Raiders stopped the Bills run game and forced Tyrod to throw too. As bad as Tyrod Taylor played he actually had better stats than Big Ben! Too bad a lot of that came in garbage time. Some fans want Lynn as HC and I look at the game against the Raiders when the ball at the Buffalo 4 yard line and Lynn calls for a shotgun pass out of the end zone with Mills blocking Khalil Mack, a disaster waiting to happen. 99% of the NFL teams would run the ball in that situation. Baalke sucks and he didn't become the actual 49ers GM until 2011 so he wasn't the one who brought in all that talent to the team. While he did properly evaluate the talent it was GM Scot McCoughlan that built that team. The 49ers are 1-12 and only the Browns are worse.
  23. Hey Bill, hope you are fairing well. I think Rex Ryan had the right idea with a run first team but alas he was fighting a GM who doesn't put much worth in quality offensive linemen. Although the Buffalo Bills have the best rushing team in the league that is misleading as the QB is also a running QB who has 471 rushing yards himself, 6 rushing TD's. Both Miami and now Pittsburgh manhandled that Buffalo offensive line. The Bills defensive line was also pushed all over the field at will. This is what it looks like when a bad team plays a good team that is about to make the playoffs. The Buffalo Bills need to clean house with the entire FO in Brandon, Whaley, and the coaches all need to go. It was very disheartening to hear that these new owners have cooled on the idea of a czar, though.
  24. Don't look now but the 2016 Buffalo Bills defense is currently ranked 18th! They allowed a franchise-worst record 236 rushing yards to Bell and that was also a franchise best for the Steelers! Shades of Dave Wannstedt..hey, the Bills should have just fired Gailey and hired Dave to get this kind of success. The Bills are 28th against the run and 9th against the pass. Even Mike Pettine was better.
  25. Harbaugh was hired by the 49ers in 2011 after they went 6-10. The 49ers went to 13-3 in his first year 2011. 11-4-1 and a super bowl his second year 2012. 12-4 his third year 2013, and 8-8 2014 his fourth year mostly because his GM dismantled the best offensive line in the league, their QB Colin Kaepernick regressed. (Buffalo should be so lucky) Harbaugh took all the blame but it was Trent Baalke who the real problem with that team and he should be fired this offseason. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/gm-trent-baalke-likely-done-with-49ers-chip-kellys-fate-up-to-next-gm/ Nice try, though, Crayonz.
