Its Reid. No other QB from an "air Raid scheme has amounted to anything near Mahomes. Let's not forget that ole Patty boy sat for a year behind QB Alex Smith and the Chiefs were already a playoff team. In 2013, they were 11-5 in Reid's first year in KC. 2014. 9-7 Smith was injured and only played in 8 games. 2015, 11-5 2016, 12-4 2017, 10-6 2018. 12-4 Mahomes first year starting. That's in Reid's first six seasons with no SBs. However, since then, it's been playoffs every season with 4 SBs, winning 3. The roadblocks prior to 2019 were mostly the NE Patriots and Tom Brady. The roadblocks for Buffalo have been mostly the KC Chiefs. Yes, Patrick Mahomes is special. However, I think Josh Allen means more to Buffalo than Mahomes does to KC.

That Bill Belicheat created as HC & GM.

If we could do that... I'd nix the trade-up for Sammy Watkins (Mr Glass) and take any one of the many other better players. Like WR Mike Evans, Khalil Mack, and Aaron Donald. That 2014 NFL draft had fifteen first-rounders that made all pro or Pro Bowl and another twelve that came after the first round that Buffalo missed on. That year's draft still irks me!

If Brian Daboll gets fired, would you take him as OC?
Nihilarian replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree! There was a time when Brian Daboll was very harsh at Josh Allen by yelling and screaming at him on the sidelines. This might be one reason why he was moved upstairs into the booth. Yes, Daboll schemed up some very good passing game plans and Josh ran them well. There were other times that Josh had difficulty with certain defensive schemes and Daboll just kept calling pass plays regardless. At times to the tune of 40+ pass attempts and this while Josh was under great duress from a vicious pass rush. Daboll had his issues...also, with little or no run game. Currently, the 2024 Buffalo Bills have an offense like the old Jim Kelly/Thurman Thomas offense in which they would run first to set up the passing game. I marvel at how well the Bills can run the ball at times. The Bills have 192 pass attempts and 192 rush attempts...talk about balance. I think that the Ravens game was an anomaly in that the game got out of hand quickly and that the new center had difficulty with pass protections for the offensive line. Josh Allen wasn't the same guy we all know and love in that game and I also think it affected him the next week against the Texans. I think Joe Brady is the best OC this team has had since Ted Marchibroda/Jim Ringo with such a balanced team and stout run game. -

Well, in 2022, Belichick had an ex-defensive coordinator (Matt Patricia) calling the offensive plays, which ruined QB Mac Jones. To add to that, Ole Bill told Patriots owner that QB Tom Brady was done as a productive NFL QB. The Patriots let Brady leave and he went on to Tampa Bay to win another Super Bowl with the Bucs! The 2023 New England Patriots went 4-13 promoting the Patriots owner to FIRE Belichick! After this, I'd tend to think that the entire reason why the Patriots were so successful from 2001 (Brady's first year at QB) until he left the team (winning six SBs while going to nine) during that time was mostly GOAT QB Tom Brady. There was a real reason why Belichick was fired in New England after such a long successful tenure. Then considering that Belichick was both HC & GM their entire roster is currently garbage...the 2024 Patriots are 1-6. There is also a real reason as to why no NFL team hired Ole Bill as their HC this past offseason. Why some Buffalo Bills fans would want that bum over the 2nd winningest HC in the NFL in the last five years? (KC HC Andy Reid is the winningest) -
the Daboll/Schoen regime - on the brink, it seems
Nihilarian replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
My take is that Schoen bought into Daboll being a QB whisperer with Josh Allen, whom he supposedly coached up into a superstar QB. Daboll rode Josh Allen's arm to be a HC when he isn't even that good an OC. The NY Giants need a better than 28th or so offensive line to help develop a young QB along with building a decent run game. Here you have a GM listening to a not so good HC on what the team needs. Daboll is toast, Schoen might get another chance IMO. -

Ain't no way this team hires Brian Daboll again as he didn't get along with McD. Daboll needs a superstar QB to make him look good and with no real run game, he will get him injured fast. -

I'm pretty certain that the HC has some input into who they keep and who gets paid. The Giants chose to pay QB Jones 35 million a year with 82 million guaranteed. They chose not to pay RB Barkley who just ripped them a new one and let's not forget that they used a #2 overall pick on that RB in 2018. Right now Joe Flacco would be a better choice at QB if they had kept Barkley. The Giants made their bed and now must sleep with the dogs they chose. Daboll is partly at fault for the situation the Giants are in right now. 2-4 and they drafted a talented WR for the QB...who stinks! -

Did Daboll set up an intricate, elaborate passing offense in Buffalo? Yes! did he set up any kind of viable run game to take pressure off the QB? Hell no! I can recall Josh Allen running for his life in many Dabol-called games with sometimes 40+ pass attempts in a loss. Look what that HC is doing to his QB in NY right now. The Giants did"t want to pay Barkley so he went off on the Giant's defense for 17 carries and 176 yards in Philly's win 28-3. Meanwhile, Daniel Jones with little run game behind him went 14 of 21 for 99 yards. I realize that many Bills fans are uncertain about Bills OC Joe Brady. Buffalo FINALLY now has a power run game that actually works along with a potent passing attack! There is a real reason as to why Brian Daboll is going to get canned and I'd put him right up there next to Bill Belichick as a loser HC without his great QB. -

Yea, It's a passing league...it's also great when you can run and pass and against the #1 defense in yards allowed so far this year. -

There is only one NFL team that has won more games over the last 5 seasons than the Buffalo Bills, the KC Chiefs! McD isn't going away either!!!!!! -

Hey man, if the team is going to stumble in some games it is better to do it early in the season. Besides, some fans love to complain. -

The difference between the Bills and Chiefs is Chris Jones.
Nihilarian replied to Allen2Moulds's topic in The Stadium Wall
The difference is the genius they have at HC / OC in Andy Reid. AND only Andy Reid! The Chiefs limp through the season each year to get to the playoffs where they dominate, save one SB. (My Fave) Tom Brady is the GOAT, the only quarterback I've ever seen who can play catch with the jugs machine. -
Historically McD doesn't like to start/play rookies or new players. They are learning the system and will play when needed
