  1. A couple points I'd like to make. Shady was tremendous and really gave the offense a boost last night. That last series really sealed the win even though the Jets got it back. There were a couple of runs where he looked like he would lose yards and ended up positive. That is a huge difference for us this year. Fitz had several passes that were totally off the mark. Their defense forced so many 3 and outs and he couldn't take advantage with receivers who seemed to have beaten the Bill CBs. I figured he was good for a few picks but was surprised with the inaccuracy.
  2. If it comes down to kicking game, I think we have the advantage!
  3. I'd like to go to the game, but the weather is getting pretty miserable for an old guy. I was thinking of getting a ticket because they were very cheap ($37 in end zone) on stub hub, but then I thought that I'd probably be surrounded by intoxicated Jets fans. Any of you been to a Jets/Bills game at MetLife? I could be persuaded.
  4. I voted for the Jets wide receivers. Although Clay can be very good, he hasn't shown much the last several weeks. Just to play devils advocate, QB is closer than the poll indicates because Fitz is better at getting rid of the ball when pressured. The Jets have the DL that could make life miserable for Tyrod if he can't get rid of the ball a little quicker than he did last week. In last week's game, I was happy Tyrod got rid of the ball, but Suh had him in the grasp.
  5. Bills 24 Jets 17 Bills will have trouble in early going but will eventually find their way. I think Clay will have a big game and Sammy will get open deep at least once for a TD. Neither team will be effective running and Fitz will throw a pick to end the game as Jets are driving for a score to tie.
  6. With all the changes on the Lions yesterday, there was an indication the Lions may part ways with Stafford. He has put up some big numbers albeit with a receiver like Megatron. I like Taylor, but do you think the Bills should see what it would cost. He's got a big contract although I'm not sure how many years are left.
  7. If the unis make us play like the Patriots do now, I'm all for it!
  8. Last time I checked Stub hub tickets in end zone were as cheap as $31. They were cheaper than tickets in Buffalo for Jets game on Jan 3.
  9. Thanks for the advice. I saw tickets as cheap as $45 on stub hub, but I may wait until after this weekend to see if it is worth the trip.
  10. I was thinking of going as well because I am working in Manhattan that week. Can I get to the game via train? I'm staying near Penn station and I know there is a PATH train but not sure of connections.
  11. After reading a few fire Whaley posts, it got me thinking about next year. No, I'm not ready yet to give up this year but since we are on the bye I'd like to pose the question "Who do we keep?" Offense: QB Taylor RB McCoy WR Watkins, G Incognito (resign before season ends) C Wood T Henderson, Glenn (contract may be $$$) TE Clay, Gragg Defense: DT Dareus, K Williams DE M. Williams, Hughes LB Brown, Bradham S A Williams CB Gilmore(more $$$), Darby P Schmidt ST Easley I know there are a few contracts that need to be worked out, but these are my keepers. What say you?
  12. I saw Easley when he was at UConn and he was tremendous with many big plays. I wish they would use him more particularly with the current WR injury problems. BTW what has happened to Clay? He seems to have disappeared from the offense the last few weeks.
  13. I wish we didn't have to have a kickoff specialist, but I'm happy to have him back. Let's hope Carpenter gets back to his old form on FGs and PATs.
  14. If EJ starts it could be an ugly first half. My guess is the defense picks us up in the second half and scores a touchdown so we can all breathe easier for two weeks. 31-20 Bills
  15. I agree with OP and am disappointed in Jerry Hughes because of all the stupid penalties. He did get the strip fumble on Brady but hasn't accomplished much this year after the big contract. I suspect a big hit if he was cut or traded, but maybe it is time to draft a stud lineman and reduce the heavy payroll invested in the line. Rambo is getting to be a real liability out there too even when playing nickel.
  16. I seem to recall we've had a similar stretch of games a couple of years ago and managed to blow our chances losing to bad Pittsburgh, Atlanta and Tampa teams. Last year it was Oakland that did us in. Beat Jacksonville first!
  17. I'm trying to stay positive, but after 15 years of frustration, it just seems like more of the same. I'm also a Pirates fan and had to wait 20 years to break the non-losing season (and make the playoffs curse). I know it could turn around, but these injuries keep piling up and our division now looks out of reach. Now the Jets look like they could take our playoff spot if we can't start winning more than 1 game in a row. I thought we had the right pieces but the ridiculous penalties have to stop. The way we are playing no team looks beatable this year.
  18. I still need to record. Does anyone think that Directv will change your card to local Buffalo for this game. When I moved from Boston to CT a number of years ago, I still had the local Boston channels until I called and asked them to switch it.
  19. What's the prognosis on Karlos? Will they sign another back maybe bring back Bryce? I haven't seen that he signed with anyone. Also, how do the Patriots keep finding running backs every year?
  20. While we are at it, I will miss the second half and was hoping to record on DVR. Is that possible with Yahoo? How do you do that. If not will there be a replay on NFL network sometime?
  21. I'm riding high with Tyrod on both of my fantasy teams this year. I'm hoping he's the real thing all year as it looks like Drew Brees is in decline with all the players they got rid of! Glad I picked Tyrod up while trolling for players in a 2 QB league.
  22. I can't believe Brady has been in the red zone 25 times already this season. Does that mean he is beating teams methodically this year and has had to settle for field goals 9 times. I wonder if that will or should change for the Bills to beat some of the better teams in the league. At the beginning of the year, I thought ground and pound would be effective in keeping the ball out of the elite QBs hands. As NE proved you don't want to get in a shootout with Brady (or Manning or Rodgers). What do you think?
  23. You're not going to get to a QB that gets rid of the ball that fast unless you know the snap count and even then you might get called for offside or encroachment. Hopefully, Rex can figure out another way to make him hold the ball longer with press coverage and the like. I'm starting to feel the game in November is going to be for the division crown if we keep playing like we have and Tyrod improving each week.
  24. Who is the home team? I root for Miami when they play any team except the Bills. We lived in Miami in the early Marino years and its my son's favorite team. Let's worry about beating the Giants who I dislike almost as much as the Patriots. Their fans are obnoxious too.
  25. Thanks for the advice guys. I killed with Tyrod in both leagues.
