Making the case for Lamar Jackson

Oh, one other thing. If you think he needs to switch positions, go with RB and not WR. He actually has RB traits. -
Making the case for Lamar Jackson

I'll go as far as saying this. Lamar Jackson is a quarterback. If his film says anything but that to you, you're doing it wrong. His mobility is a plus in theory. PFF put out a stat about 70% of his rushing yards being on designed runs, not scrambles. If you watch the games, you should tell the difference between a scramble and a zone read or inverted veer play. Does Lamar need work? Of course. His feet get too narrow, causes accuracy issues. He can look to escape pressure but he does a good job of keeping his eyes up against the rush. I think the biggest difference between him and Tyrod is that Lamar wants to be a passer and will stick with his reads longer. He's more intuitive and aggressive as a passer. -

Lamar won't run as much in the NFL and he didn't miss a single game as a starter. Not sure why so many are worried about injuries with him when Ben Roethlisberger is a 300-pound pocket passer that's basically the Bionic Man. -
Pardon my French but !@#$ a duck.

Matt Miller's latest Mock makes sense
Blokestradamus replied to D. L. Hot-Flamethrower's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All about those clicks. I spent 2 evenings studying film, making notes, making GIFs, wrote about 1500 words on a player matchup during the 2016 season. Might've got a couple hundred views. Spent half an hour on a basic mock draft - thousands of them. Coverage is idiotic because we demand it. -

I haven't a clue about how accurate they are. For all I know, some of them are doing the bidding of teams to help push/create false information & narratives. If you're watching Brandon, I'm more than happy to be a shill for a price! I've done mock drafts for just the Bills in the last 5 classes in some way, shape or form. In all that time, I think I got Dustin Hopkins, John Miller & Matt Milano correct. That's 3 out of 34 picks -

I wrote about half a dozen concept mock drafts for BillsWire last year. Let me tell you, that stuff is stressful. If you don't take the guys that most people want, folks get angry. I have nothing but respect for the guys that do it on a national scale. Their Twitter mentions must be carnage. -
If the story goes that Cordy was making more money than they wanted to pay considering Dion seems capable of playing the spot on a rookie deal, I can buy that. Combined with the injury and the whole pursuit of the QB thing, moving him on made perfect sense. I just really hope that this isn't a sign of things to come. Guys like Sammy and Marcell, I can get why coaches might not be willing to put up with their ****. If they're going to talk crap about guys like Cordy that have given the team so much in the past, the Process might want a look in the mirror.

A guy that I had to stop following because even I, the !@#$ing king of creepy, think he's plain weird. On the mock side of things, this really is the Cinderella story. -
The Bright Side Concerning Peterman

favorite post first round players

I love a pair of linebackers - Jack Cichy (Wisconsin) & Shaun Dion Hamilton (Alabama). TE Chris Herndon (Miami), K Daniel Carlson (Auburn). I'd also take a UDFA stab at a long corner with ST experience, Gabriel McClary from BC. His dad was a member of the Commodores. -
I'm a big believer that good football players will typically be good as long as you can quantify how they win. If you can find a role for a player (I think this is especially true at linebacker), you can find value in players that aren't necessarily 'elite' athletes. I like Ateman's physical makeup, even if he's got weirdly small hands for someone of his stature. His route running is pretty good for his size, probably has the best grip strength and spatial awareness since Josh Doctson. The simple issue is that running around a 4.6, a lot of his vertical threat is based off blown coverages or they'll likely be more contested. I don't mind his chances in contested catch situations but I'd rather not be banking on them a lot for chunk plays, you know? Deep balls are already a low-percentage play without lowering your odds. In many regards, Ateman might end up falling into some of the same pitfalls as Kelvin Benjamin. I don't consider Kelvin a true #1 and I think you need to be in that classification to be a top draft pick. Not to say that Ateman can't have a good career, I just have trust issues with guys that miss certain athletic criteria.

TSW Mock Trade Draft vs Actual
Blokestradamus replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be happy to do a 3-rounder. We could even pick this one up again in a couple of weeks and go from #33. -
Blokes has actually got a hot take for this draft. If Marcell Ateman ran 4.5 or below, he'd be WR1.

With the 17th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins select: Isaiah Wynn, guard, University of Georgia. Statement from head coach Jay Gruden - "Going back decades to "The Hogs", our franchise has always placed an enormous value on the offensive line. In drafting Isaiah Wynn, we hope to continue that proud long-standing tradition. Isaiah is a fine young man with a blend of size, strength and athletic ability that we hope to mould into a true superstar. His partnership alongside future Hall Of Famer Trent Williams on the left side of our offensive line is something we are truly excited to watch blossom." -

@RapSheet: My #sources are telling me that the #Redskins are torn between two players with equal grades. @AdamSchefter: Can confirm @RapSheet's tweet about tension in the Redskins war room. @IncarceratedBob: Hearing that #Redskins owner Dan Snyder has threatened to fire everyone that doesn't agree with him. -

The Washington Redskins will not be entertaining offers for the 17th pick. I think we've already confused poor Virgil enough. -

TRADE ALERT!!!!! The Washington Redskins have traded out of the 13th pick in a deal with the Los Angeles Chargers. The Redskins will receive the 17th & 84th picks in the 2018 Draft. The Chargers will receive the 13th pick. @billspro and the Chargers are officially on the clock. -
