  1. COACHES FILM HIGHLIGHT REEL ALERT!!!!
  2. He had two 300-yard passing games last season. Some people here will love him.
  3. I think there are a few edge guys that can still wreck **** in isolation and Jerry isn't one of those guys. I think the Murphy signing gives the rush a better chance of being productive, especially if you can utilize Shaq as a run-downs player and keep Trent fresh.
  4. I definitely like Gesicki's potential. TE tends to be a bit of a slow burner in terms of production so I'm normally wary of taking one that early. I was willing to take the risk on Njoku last year and I think Gesicki would be the exception to my rule in this class. Maybe not 1st round but potentially top-50.
  5. Lorenzo and Kyle are 2 of them
  6. Yes. My top score for the Bills is 22,449 I would highly recommend it - https://first-pick.com/NFL/DraftGame.aspx We have been running some of these and putting them in this thread in the CFB channel -
  7. It's some safety net though. "Jump out of the window and we'll catch you" "But you just laid more concrete on top of the concrete. This isn't how this work"
  8. I definitely have some reservations with Darnold (aside from the fact that I keep seeing him as being Cubert Farnsworth all grown up). From an entertainment standpoint, Darnold is about as fun a prospect as I've ever watched. He's got some of that devil-may-care attitude that Andrew Luck has. I think he'll certainly win people over very quickly both in terms of the locker room and the fan base because he's just that requisite amount of bonkers for people to think that he's really just one of us. If he can get the ball security stuff sorted and he can stop with the back-foot throws into coverage, I think he'll be just fine. I don't think we're going to solve the Mr. Whippy arm action telegraphing some throws and that's something I'll learn to live with.
  9. I think someone in that building was being pig-headed. They traded up to get Bodine and they just decided not to address it. I guess it's easy to think that you're getting value for money when his rookie deal averages less than $700k/year. I still have flashbacks to their game against the Jets a couple years ago. Steve McLendon absolutely bulldozed him for 60 minutes. I guess the positive is that he's been durable and has 64 starts under his belt. Coming in off the bench, he's not going to be some wide-eyed rookie. I would be very surprised if he started and not at all surprised if they eat the $500k guaranteed for '19 fairly quickly after the '18 season.
  10. I'm 98% confident that Sam Darnold is the #1 pick. After that, I have absolutely no idea. That Thursday is going to be carnage. Considering that I have a borderline 1st round grade on Crosby, I'd happily take him if there's a pick left over in the 2nd or the top of the 3rd.
  11. Oh, I am so down for Tyrell Crosby. A real process type with a mean streak, I absolutely adore him. I'm just not sure how early we end up picking if they draft a QB via trade-up. Bodine has his '18 base salary guaranteed so he's probably on the 53-man in pen already. Having witnessed Russell Bodine play Center before, I bloody hope he doesn't start. I'm sure he's a nice dude but that boy is a train wreck. I wouldn't exactly rule it out if you're trying to use the 'best five' idea with the OL. I remain staunchly interested in Ryan Groy at RT, as unlikely as it is. Athletically, I think he's got some very strong correlation to some very good OT's.
  12. I keep saying it. If there's going to be an elite QB from this group, it's Rosen. He does things that nobody else in the class can do in terms of how he reads the game, especially pre-snap. It's a bit of a cliche but he really does seem born for it. Maybe he's a bit of a tough one to work with. Maybe as a position coach or an OC, you're forced to bite your tongue a bit around him and acquiesce to him. But if you're the same QB coach or OC 2-3 years down the line and he's a superstar, you're using him to vault yourself into HC consideration.
  13. I'm not really qualified to talk too authoritatively on his play after the bye week because I didn't do any film review in the last two months of the season. Just saying, that dude was better than the stats showed early on.
  14. I think that Mills is probably sticking around. They gave him a $450k roster bonus recently. I'd probably bet that he starts at RT with Conor as the swing, to begin with. I think McDermott could play LT in a pinch and they'd bring Mills back in to play RT in that case. As far as the interior swing goes, I think Bodine is a lock for the roster but maybe the backup guard isn't on the roster just yet.
  15. In terms of how he impacted gameplanning in the early part of the season, he was massively effective. After the first 5-6 weeks, I was leading the "Jerry Hughes for the Pro Bowl" campaign. Stats might not show that much but tape don't lie.
  16. He's a big, square dude with limited athletic ability but really sharp with solid technique and power. The switch to a more zone-based scheme hurt him because he just doesn't have the mobility to fully execute a lot of outside zone principles. With it seeming that the Bills will be running a lot more man/power concepts under Brian Daboll, we're going to be back firmly in Miller's wheelhouse. I'm not sure if getting benched has caused any drop in confidence or belief for John. I really hope that it hasn't because he's a really solid starter at his best. If you can keep him head-up on a defender, executing a lot of down blocks and keep his movement limited to the odd playside pull, he's capable of moving Vlad to the discarded pile.
  17. They will need some fresh impetus at some point but I think between the likely bevy of picks they'll use to get the QB and the dead cap hit on the books, their hands are effectively tied for 2018. Most teams aren't going to look at Bodine and Newhouse on the open market and think "Oh, I must have one of those guys", but they didn't really have many options to bring in experienced players for camp.
  18. I think the reason that I appreciate him so much is that he reminds me of myself. Knowing that you're one of the smartest people in any room gives you this condescending smugness that most people assume to be arrogance. It's not, we just know that we're superior to you.
  19. I know what you mean. The world and his wife are looking for reasons to dislike him and by making comments in the public domain, he's only going to invite more criticism. I like the kid and I hate Mora so I'm naturally going to side with the guy that I like. I appreciate him being willing to defend himself against some of the things that have been said about him (even if it's in a particularly passive-aggressive manner) but I fully understand that it might not sit well with everyone.
  20. Dawkins - Incognito - Groy - Miller - McDermott. I guess technically 3 new starters, even if 2 are kinda old starters.
  21. Interesting take from the man with an opinion on everything
