  1. I have to admit, my Iranian brethren did far better than I had anticipated. They just lacked that cutting edge in the final third. The only rooting interest I have for this evening is hoping that Argentina goes bye-bye.
  2. If he threw every one of his 52 NFL passes at his own feet (or even the hospitality tent), his career QB rating would be 39.6. Brohm's career QB rating is 26.0. I really regret all of my pro-Brohm posts on BBMB
  3. Walter was the first name in mind when I saw hack
  4. I'm torn with Brazil. Love their footballing history, incredibly fond of the likes of Coutinho. Won't lie that I had a chuckle to myself when the decision got overturned though.
  5. If that's a dive, surely Neymar gets a yellow for it. Comical fall.
  6. I think it's entirely personal taste. I've done a bit of blogging before and Tim is a writer that I looked up to during that time. The way he writes definitely resonates with me. As far as Wawrow goes; I think John is definitely in that raconteur class, primarily through Twitter. His flair and vocabulary come out to play.
  7. I'm glad that Doug is back involved with the game. NFLPA Bowl players tend to be UDFA types and I think Doug has always acquitted himself well finding value from limited skill sets. I look forward to seeing how his appointment changes the standard of players that get invited.
  8. I'm not a huge fan of Tim's acerbic personality, especially on social media. However, I think he's one of the most naturally gifted raconteurs I've read in sports journalism. I've read some of his work on subjects that I have little to no interest in and, somehow, Tim has an innate ability to connect with me as the reader. I'll probably give it a little time before subscribing but I'm more inclined to pay for content if Tim is writing it.
  9. I did steal Pokemon cards from Woolworths as a youth. I was a nightmare child.
  10. Remind me to start calling Turbo 'shoutbox Timmah' :)
  11. I hope so. Not a Spain fan but I love Fernando Hierro. My stepdad worked at Bolton while he was there. Lovely fella.
  12. It was down to communication. The Spanish federation were only told about him accepting the job 5 minutes before the press release announcing it. I can understand the frustration and it's really ****ty timing on the coach's part but it seems like something that didn't need this drastic action on the eve of the tournament.
  13. I don't always have the best judgment when it comes to other people. Even from my school days, I let my guard down around people that I shouldn't have and paid for it. I wish I was more self-motivated. I used to get pushed by others having little to no faith in me. As the dissenting voices got quieter, I stagnated. I wish I was a more intuitive/perceptive person. I spent a lot of time isolated during my more depressed days and it sometimes feels like I've forgotten how to human properly. I don't have a large social circle but I'd like to be a better friend to those that have been there for me in that capacity.
  14. I'll give it a go if nobody else will. A weekly punting analysis will be my staple.
  15. If you like your soul/R&B, check out Lost and Found, Jorja Smith's debut album. Not bad for a 20-year-old lass from Walsall.
  16. Turning up to a game the year before they drafted you. That's commitment
  17. I don't think there's too much being made of it with Foster/Daboll. I'd expect early on that a guy with knowledge of terminology should thrive. We'll see if that carries on once everyone else is caught up sufficiently.
  18. I wouldn't say that it's ruining my experience as a sports fan. I wholeheartedly support athletes using their position to bring awareness to their chosen causes. I don't have to like them or agree with their personal politics but I respect that they have the right to express themselves. Sports have been political for longer than I've been on the planet. Hell, Muhammad Ali got done for conscientious objection 22 years before I was born.
  19. Just from the sheer fact that he's got proven production in the past, Jerry Hughes is my vote. It stands to reason that he should be capable of converting pressure to something more tangible on the stat sheet. Kinda hard not to be rooting for Mr. Miller though. That's my boy right there.
  20. I do have freakishly long arms for my height so I'm definitely using that as an excuse
  21. I don't think I've attempted a pull up in nearly 20 years. I'd like to say that I could do one but I'm not exactly confident. And no, I don't even lift, bro.
  22. I'm moderately obsessed with Gabrielle Miller from the Trivago adverts.
