Next 007 in new Bond film is a female
Blokestradamus replied to YoloinOhio's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I'm moderately intrigued how they'll write the script considering that Bond has always been seen as something of a womaniser and part-time misogynist. -
At this point, I think the public is just sick of it. In reality, there's probably a sub-section on both sides that are loud and entrenched and the rest of us are simply just bored with it. As someone that voted to remain in the EU, I'd actually welcome the chance to vote on an actual legally-binding agreement that I could judge for myself. The main reason that I couldn't bring myself to vote to leave was for the exact same reasons that have played out; nobody in the history of Earth has ever successfully negotiated from a position of weakness. The EU has us over a barrel and they know it. I'm not saying that I'd vote to leave for sure, just that I'd be willing to change my mind if I knew what I was actually voting for.

No Women's World Cup thread?
Blokestradamus replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in Off the Wall Archives
For me, that shouldn't be a penalty. It's a similar situation to a couple of Jamie Vardy's 'earned' penalties for Leicester. The defender doesn't instigate the contact, the striker does. And that red has been coming all tournament long. Millie Bright is a ***** liability. -
Arthur is a true gentleman and has been a great ambassador for both Buffalo and Pittsburgh. A quiet family man that worked his arse off for everything he earned. Always used his platform to help those less fortunate than himself. I know that retirement is going to be bittersweet for him but I'm sure that Shonda and the kids are happy to have him around all the time. I wish him luck in whatever the future holds.

I'm not saying that I would, just not saying that I wouldn't.

I don't think that it's a bad idea to require a background check in order to adopt a pit. In fact, I think it should be expanded to all pet adoptions as we have a big problem here with the mistreatment of animals. Alas, organisations like the RSPCA are charities so they don't have much scope to do anything until the laws/funding change. My grandparents had a pit cross-breed when I was a kid, me and my sister never had any issues with her. However, I find myself wary of pitbulls. I live in an area that does have some undesirable types that use them as a status symbol and you can see from the way they control them that they've taught them to be a form of protection. Whether pitbulls have more of a propensity toward violence or not, I don't know. I just don't trust the dickheads that own them. I wouldn't be in a rush to adopt one myself and I'd certainly think twice about letting my future kids play with one. There's enough anecdotal evidence to suggest a risk and I wouldn't forgive myself if something horrific happened.

It made me laugh, to be honest. I don't really talk about her because I've got a reputation to uphold. A hooker is par for the course with that, if only I wasn't also cheap.

What do you think she is; my cousin?

I've got to admit to a feeling of relief. I half expected you to ask if she was inflatable.

On the subject of pizza etiquette; I feel that I'm compelled to relive the horrors of yesterday evening. On Friday evening, I watched the future mother of my children do something unthinkable. First off, she ordered a vegetable-heavy pizza which includes the middle portion of the base being cut out and replaced with salad. She then ate it with a knife and fork, like a complete and utter psychopath. There's no chance that I can marry this woman after that, surely.

I think the important thing to remember is that, whatever the crust, pineapple is the greatest thing to have on a pizza.

Makes a change from being called a socialist, I guess.

I'm pretty sure that posting that when I've got 3 hours until I eat lunch is against the Geneva Convention.

Saying that it has an outer crust implies that it has an inner crust, which is utter madness.

I think I speak for all rational people; What the ***** is an outer crust?

Death, Taxes and Peterman lighting it up....
Blokestradamus replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The whole Peterman episode has been horrible to watch unfold. Nate was one of those prospects that got a visceral response from me because I never thought that he exhibited the skills required to make it to the NFL in any playing capacity. I don't like saying it because I respect anyone that dedicates themselves to a craft for the amount of time that these guys do. Despite all of my criticism (most of which has been vindicated), I've never disliked Nate as a human being. In a perverse way, I've grown to admire him because he was willing to front up when he made mistakes. While I doubt that football is his true calling in life, I think his character will allow him to succeed when he does find that vocation. -
I think Lee suffered with the fact that his holds were more noticeable than most because of that fact. Every single hold seemed to be on a 20+ yard gain. I posted his penalty numbers back in the BBMB days and he's never been that heavily penalised on a per-snap basis. Perhaps his threshold is altered due to the lower likelihood of him providing big plays in the passing game to counteract them.

8 holding penalties in his NFL career. If Lee is a penalty machine, that makes me a sex machine.
