Anybody care if we win today?

I'm more in evaluation mode for next year. I want to see how O'Leary is coming along. I want Kouandjio starting. See more of guys like TJ Barnes. -

Crystal Ball: Top Prospects for 2016 NFL Draft

I have to watch some more of him but that game against Houston really caught my eye. God only knows what he'd do with a better QB than PJ Walker. Absolutely. Once you get past the Jack/Ragland/Smith tier, he's as switched on as they come. He's probably going to be hit and miss as a Pro. For every time he shoots a gap and gets a TFL, he'll run himself out of position and gave up a 1st. I think I had a provisional 4th on him over the summer and he'd be an upgrade over the Tarpley's of this world. -

His production is 2014 was nuts but I'm not a huge fan. After missing so much of this year, I think the best thing for him would be him returning for his final year (apparently he's all but declared though). Best fit would probably be inside in a 3-4 but I really worry about his athletic ability. Not a huge Combine/metrics guy but his agility test numbers will be crucial for me. -

Give it a year and we can join forces to vouch for him. The inevitable Sproles comparisons will be mind-numbing fun. As if CFB didn't give us enough as it is, New Mexico just run the Maryland I out of the shotgun - https://twitter.com/YahooDrSaturday/status/678292520934227969 -
2011 - Lancashire won the County Championship for the first time since 1934. I'm talking cricket but nobody knows what that is. Quite a few trophies growing up as a Wigan Warriors fan too. As far as American sports go, not even seen a Bills playoff game yet and I'm in the first year of adopting the Orlando Magic. I don't care about basketball but Mario Hezonja is my spirit animal.

He can also catch 2 at once - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2_kMk4gnAw Can't imagine him declaring as a junior from the FCS level but he's not your typical 5' 6" guy. Saw him this time last year and it's like a (very small) man against boys. -

Temple WR Robby Anderson is a bit special. 6' 3", 190 pounds. Supposedly has 4.5 speed, 44" vertical. Precise route runner, great hands in traffic. Gave William Jackson, one of the better CFB cover corners, a hell of a game. Blocked him into the bench as well. Missed 2014 due to academic reasons but if you're looking for a taller target to add something to the offense at what I'd imagine to be a relatively cheap investment, he might be your guy. -
Looking at some potential 5-tech free agents. I know everyone wants to shoot for the stars with Wilkerson but it might be worth looking at the lower tiers. Couple of names that intrigue me. Cedric Thornton (Eagles) and Mike DeVito (KC). DeVito played under Rex for a few years, he'll be 32 over the summer but could be a good rotational player. Both were making around $2.3m this year.

The last time I vouched for a kicker, it was Dustin Hopkins. I was fine with him in the 5th. I think Fairbairn would represent good value there. Lot of roster turnover seems inevitable. We may have bigger fish to fry in the first 2-3 rounds than a kicker. Day 3 is for role players, bad boys and height/weight/speed types.

CBS has him as a 2nd rounder. That's a bit rich for me but there's no doubting he's good. He's coming off a down year where he only converted 83.3% of his FG's. His touchback percentage is 54.43%, which would be good for 19th in the NFL (Jordan Gay is at 54.83% for the year, partly because Danny Crossman is an idiot). I'd still rather take Ka'imi Fairbairn from UCLA later. Far better value and I'm not sure the dropoff is that great.

I think the recent emphasis on making the passing game 'easier' has made having that stud QB less integral to success. Obviously you'd rather have Tom Brady than Kirk Cousins but it's never been easier to be a productive QB in the NFL. With that being the case, the more complete roster you can surround that QB with, the better. You need diverse personnel to keep things from being predictable, to be able to play in all weathers, to be competitive against different strengths/weaknesses, to be able to play in different situational circumstances. You need at least one strong suit and enough to supplement it. As the saying goes; there's more than one way to skin a cat.

Aaron Williams to IR-DTR; Out for the Season
Blokestradamus replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a touchy subject, that's all. I know everything I set out was legitimate, I just know that Aaron is a popular guy. I guess I didn't like myself for thinking about it and thought others might follow. -

Without wishing to appear like an awful person; if the situation dictates that he steps away from the game, what is the financial situation like for both Aaron and the team? I'd assume that Aaron will have health benefits for at least the foreseeable future, if not the rest of his life. On top of that, he'd be entitled to at least a partial amount of salary left on his contract. Pertaining to the Bills cap, how much would that impact the 2016 cap number? Feel free to call me whatever you like, my intention isn't to offend. -
Potentially good. Thus far, he is 10 games of capturing lightning in a bottle. Longevity with the style of QB that Tyrod is has always been an issue. Russell Wilson is the main exception to the rule because he has an astonishing arm and can work from the pocket. I have not seen Tyrod do nearly enough to suggest that he is the answer. The idea that "good enough" just isn't good enough. I am playing Devil's Advocate, not trolling. I have a very clear idea of what I want and how I would approach it. That differs from your approach and that's fine. You're completely entitled to your opinion as I am. It seems clear that we won't find some middle ground and I'll leave it at this for now.
-
I am absolutely prepared to lose him and I would prepare as if he's not the answer. Draft someone in the 2nd round (the guy I like might well be there) as insurance. Tyrod is the unquestioned starter in 2016, no doubt about it. If he proves himself beyond any doubt that he's a franchise QB, I throw a blank cheque at him. Having that guy means everything in the modern NFL, I'll cut my cloth accordingly elsewhere. I believe in Tyrod Taylor as a man, I think he's pretty switched on. He understands the business and he understands that it's just business. I think he knows what's good for him and what's been good to him. I don't think there's a scenario on the table where he wouldn't give the Bills first refusal. I would open the dialogue over this offseason and gauge interest/expectation, that's the smart business ploy. I'd just be reluctant to have our hand forced by circumstance.

Crystal Ball: Top Prospects for 2016 NFL Draft

I go into it with zero expectations. Skip Holtz, his new head coach, said a lot about him just being a scapegoat at Florida. Maybe a change of scenery has done him some good. -

Has anyone been paying attention to Jeff Driskel at LA Tech? Just saw a couple of videos uploaded and I'm going to take a peek over the weekend. I know he was AWFUL at Florida but his stats have certainly improved this year. -

Took 5 minutes to see someone asking if he's a Gronk clone. FIVE F**KING MINUTES!!!! Yes. Someone that good was just sitting on a practice squad for 3 months. -
