  1. Gil doesn't really need an excuse to hype up the tall white guys but this should be good. The list of former QB's that Leigh Steinberg has represented is ridiculous though - http://www.steinbergsports.com/quarterbacks/ On top of that - Lennox Lewis, Oscar de la Hoya & Evander Holyfield.
  2. Ahhhh. I'm kinda torn on where I rank him and Goff against each other. Pretty sure they're my #1 & #2 but not sure which order. Don't buy the Paxton Lynch hype but he signed with a friend of Gil Brandt so Gil will be hyping him up beyond human comprehension.
  3. They overhype quarterbacks every year out of necessity. Wentz is a solid QB but taking him that early is only going to heighten expectations. I'm as big an advocate for Wentz as there is but 1st round is a bit rich for me.
  4. My favourite bit is where they mullered the name of Jalen Reeves-Maybin.
  5. If you haven't seen the injury to Jaylon Smith, don't go looking for it. It's gruesome, the still pictures look very similar to Nick Chubb's injury. I just hope the prognosis isn't as bad as with Chubb. Been a brutal year for injuries.
  6. I've not read the whole thread so I apologise if this name has popped up before. In terms of guys to bring in, I'm intrigued by Broncos LB Danny Trevathan. Experience playing in Wade Phillips 3-4 scheme and Denver have got quite a few guys to pay as well as a huge QB decision to make. If he's the odd man out, I would like to bring him in. Good against the run, sheds blocks, has coverage ability. Total package and he's only turning 26 in March.
  7. Oh, I know. That Bama front 7 is one of the most ferocious things I've seen on a football field. A couple of their rotational guys would be the best defender on other SEC teams. I didn't base much on last night with Cook though. I want to like him and he does carry some mercurial brilliance about him but he's just not developing as a decision maker or as a passer. I'm not a box score scout but when your highest completion percentage for a season is 58.7%, alarm bells start ringing. From the 2014 games I've charted (I'll get onto 2015 games shortly), 2 things became apparent. Cook has a significant amount of targets beyond 16 yards (highest percentage among all QB's charted) and that drops aren't a huge issue for his completion percentage. He's not a lost cause but I really have my doubts that he'll succeed.
  8. To be fair, I've had him as a 3rd rounder since there was talk about him declaring last year. I've seen very little in the past few months to change my mind on that, not sure he has any more room to grow.
  9. I swear, Manish has written more about Rex and the Bills than he has the Jets this year.
  10. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2603942-trevone-boykin-arrested-latest-details-comments-and-more-on-tcu-qb I want to know what caused him to fly off the handle. Everything has pointed to him being a really mild-mannered and humble kid. There's no excuse for what followed but I'm really curious.
  11. Already seen someone project him to the Cowboys.
  12. Well, it seems Trevone Boykin got arrested last night for a bar fight and "striking a patrol officer". Kinda stunned, never heard anything but glowing praise for the guy. Seems way out of character.
  13. Chip's approach isn't really conducive to the NFL. Works wonders at the college level but his personality seems to grate on grown men. Also, never ever let him be a GM again.
  14. I thought someone leaked a sex tape. Thank god it was this!
  15. Is that why the OP has his hat off? Marcell ate it?
  16. If I'm being serious, I quite like the way Isa Abdul-Quddus has played for the Lions this year. Not seen every game but he's shown up when I have. Maybe David Bruton too. Bruton has been a core ST player in Denver for a while now.
  17. Maybe coax Jim Leonhard out of retirement.
  18. 9 accepted, 3 declined, 1 offsetting - http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HughJe99/penalties/2014/ It's not really a Rex thing but it's certainly a thing Rex has inherited and needs to deal with.
  19. My biggest fear is that everything is fine until the first contact of the summer and he feels the need to walk away. No blame attached if he did but we could be left so short-handed with no options to replace him at that point. The money reason is why I'm open to drafting a couple of safeties.
  20. Iloka would be a superb addition but I don't see the Bills pursuing a highly touted FA safety unless Aaron calls it quits in the next few weeks.
  21. Unfortunately, football isn't a sport for the well-adjusted. I think the larger problem is that either he or the coaching staff doesn't recognise that he's being watched like a hawk after picking up a lot of flags. His margin for error is becoming smaller by the week.
  22. Anyone who watched me play sports as a kid would know that I'm the last person that's allowed to be critical of passion coming out the wrong way. It's nice that he cares and that losing gets him pissed off. Once the Ryan defense beds in next year with true personnel fits, he'll be back to his deadly self. He's too talented and too driven to allow me to think otherwise.
  23. I'm kinda torn on his value but his length (and use of it) is pretty ridiculous.
  24. Should have something on Shaq Lawson from Clemson out by Monday at the latest. SPOILER - He's kinda good.
