  1. But he's not and you've seen it very apparently this year. I can't stress enough that scheme fit matters. The guys that can transcend scheme are unicorns.
  2. It's nice that so many players have been vocalising their commitment to staying in Buffalo. Given the perception of the team/city I've seen in some sections of the media, it does the area some good to have all those positive comments on record. That being said, I'm almost certain that Nigel is gone. Really doesn't suit the type of LB that Rex wants. He's still a good player and I'm really glad he started to maximise the potential I vouched for in his college days but he needs to go to a 4-3 team.
  3. Cordy seems to be happy in Buffalo, team stuck by him through his medical issues. Nothing got leaked about it until the story broke as justification for the award nomination. Best case scenario is that he feels some loyalty to the team and takes the hometown 'discount'. Richie is a tough one because nobody else on the open market has his circumstances. He has stated that he wants to stay and, quite frankly, I think he owes Rex. Teams weren't knocking down his door trying to get him under contract. Personally, I'd offer a 3 year deal with that 3rd year as a club option to protect from falloff of production from age. Gilmore's contract is going to hurt his doubters when they read the details. Joe Haden is the spanner in the works. $13.5m a year average and he's really not very good. Even if sense prevails on the benchmark, it's going to be 8 figures a year in some way, shape or form.
  4. This is why I hate stupid teams giving stupid deals out. Glenn is a better player than Castonzo but I don't feel his deal should be as high as Castonzo's. I've said that Veldheer should be the kind of benchmark deal. With inflation, I'd be inclined to pay him around the $9m a year mark. Cordy is a very good player and you have to pay him within reasonable demands. Of course, it's not my money.
  5. Hire Chip Kelly and see if you can throw a spanner in the works of conventional wisdom.
  6. I definitely agree with Jack & Ragland. I have some doubts whether Jaylon would be a fit in a 3-4 (think he would be a great 4-3 Will).
  7. It was intended as humour. I'm sorry.
  8. It's typical one-upmanship from mouth breathers. It'll end with someone killing themselves and I won't mourn the idiot that ends up doing it.
  9. Whoever takes over from Ruston Webster needs to make him the #1 overall pick.
  10. I've had my concerns about Leodis on the field but it's obviously not for a lack of trying or enthusiasm.
  11. Maybe they need to hire Bill Polian as a football czar?
  12. Yep. I'm excited for EJ too, buddy!
  13. I wonder if Rex would be inclined to look at a guy like Shadrach Thornton as a UDFA. Thornton is a very talented guy that just doesn't have his head screwed on at all. Got kicked off the team at NC State. Suspended before that. Arrested over an 'altercation' with his girlfriend a couple years ago. Similar to be said about Marshaun Coprich from Illinois State. Got arrested for selling drugs to an undercover cop. Run for over 4000 yards and 50 TD's in the past two seasons. Not my kind of guys but I'm trying to make peace with the fact that Rex doesn't give a **** about what I think.
  14. That sound you can hear is Andrew Luck sobbing in a corner. Grigson is never going to build him a line, just not the 'Colts way'.
  15. I'm going for the Texans and the Bengals.
  16. Jonathan Dowling will make the 53 next year if he doesn't do something stupid between now and then. I will die on this hill.
  17. Buffalo media is flat out awful and Doug Whaley is a mafia boss masquerading as an NFL GM. Love that man.
  18. I've not caught much of him this year but a few trusted people that have are raving about his improvement. The leap from sophomore to junior was really impressive. Dying to get stuck in to his senior games. I'll always vouch for Dak Prescott as a human being. He is an outstanding guy and Bills fans would adore him.
  19. I only came across the foundation a few days ago by accident. Really heartbreaking to discover the origins of the cause but I'm glad so much good has come out of such a tragic situation.
  20. The thing with Dak is continuation of growth. It's very clear that he's working incredibly hard on his craft, he takes it very seriously. Sounds a little like the guy that started 14 games this year, doesn't it?
  21. The Bills sign 3 former Jets defensive players but none of the guys that are the consensus names.
  22. I'm okay with EJ for 2016. Money might be tight, no sense in cutting him because we'd be paying him full salary and then paying another QB on top of that. Beyond 2016, different story.
  23. Everyone knows what he achieved as a coach. Take a look at the Jay Fund Foundation and see what kind of man he is. Utmost respect for him, I hope Giants fans realise how lucky they've been over the past decade.
  24. Vikings - huge Teddy fan, cheering for him comes naturally.
