This OC class has been undersold for a while now. Kelly, Martin, Tuerk, Allen, Friend are all draftable and upgrades on the right rosters. I've seen a few suggestions for T/G prospects moving inside too. Not sure there's a 1st round talent there but most didn't see Travis Frederick going in the 1st either.

I fell in love with Elijah McGuire as a freshman, kinda disappointed he didn't declare. I know he's raw and all but CJ Prosise would be a nice pickup. Receiving skills are natural, pass pro is the early issue for playing time.
-
I do like me some Dixon. Great receiver from the backfield. With only 57 passes to RB/FB last year, is that a priority for Roman? I have a bad feeling about the McCoy case, I think RB is an immediate need.

I've only got one concern with him and that's a lack of counters once he gets tied up. It's a pretty minor thing and coachable, just trying to find a flaw in his game. Not an easy task. Scheme-versatile, solid first round grade.

Watching him at the moment. The guy is just relentless, gives the OL something to account for on every snap. A&M triple teamed him on one snap. They were all trying to keep him at bay and someone else gets a strip-sack. Domination can turn to facilitation with the right guy, Rankins seems to be the type that buys in on the team being successful.

Bills odds for Super Bowl LI
Blokestradamus replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The bookies really take this "league of parity" thing seriously, huh? Rank outsider for the SB - 200/1. Rank outsider for the Premier League - 5000/1. To give hope to Browns fans, the team with those 5000/1 odds are top of the table with 13 games to go. -
Just watched a bit of Mississippi State's Chris Jones. If he ever develops a consistent motor, that boy could be special. Used everywhere from 0 to 7 Technique, shows glimpses of being able to 2-gap, can shed defenders in the run game. Got some lateral movement skills, good burst. Just gets a bit lazy with both effort and technique at times. Definitely has the skill set to play both base and sub packages. Every defensive line coach should be banging the table for this kid. Would happily take him in the 2nd.

Biggest game of his life and losing, I'd be pretty embarrassed to do that myself. I'd be embarrased if my QB gave that kind of effort. I like the guy, he's had a phenomenal year and he's firmly cemented himself as an upper echelon QB. I'm a little gutted for him that their personnel problems caught up with them on the biggest stage.

Saints release Jahri Evans

I think there's better situations out there for him than Buffalo. More cap space, less competition for a starting spot. -
Poor Bruce DeHaven...another huge ST gaffe
Blokestradamus replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While this topic is up for discussion; what about the effort from Mario Addison to chase him down 60 yards? That's a 260lb DE hauling arse keeping up with a 180lb WR. -

I know he tweeted that he was gone but I haven't seen anything official from the team yet. I probably missed it. -

I'd happily pay to remove him from my team. He's basically Flagatron now. -

Saints gonna Saint, I guess. Dead cap number was like $34m last year. Still Browner to cut as well. -
Plays in blue, drafts nothing but WR. Did a seismic shift put Detroit in Indiana?
-
I could see someone like Indy taking him too. They need a long term backup for Luck and Hasselbeast is 74 this year. Although Grigson isn't smart enough to groom him and turn him into picks in 2-3 years time.
-
If they drafted Logan Thomas in the 4th, Cardale is going in the 1st.
-
The best way to counter it isn't to accuse everyone white of being racist. Wasn't so much the initial comment as much as the snarky tweets afterwards. I agree on the circumstances for Cardale. He just needs time to develop without pressure and away from the spotlight. Tom Herman showed that you can cater to his skill set effectively and if there's a guy in the class that doesn't lack for confidence, it's Cardale. I'm willing to buy in on him as a competitor.
-
Let's just say that if that tweet was about Paxton Lynch, Emory doesn't care. No way I'm writing about Cardale, Brissett, Boykin etc. this year.
-
You see the crap Joe B was getting for his tweet about Cardale? It's a shame that I had to unfollow Emory but he's so professionally black, it clouds his judgement.
-
My biggest issues with him are experience and accuracy. He can't really help half of that, either. If Wentz is a risk with a 23 game sample size, Cardale is twice the risk. Circumstances are understandable but they have to be treated universally. I'm undecided on Cardale. I can see the pros and cons to his game. All said and done, he came out as a 6th rounder for me. I just think he's got a long way to go and I'd be reluctant to invest much into him. The piece I linked, I think Derrik was right about him. The overreaction to his 3 game stint was riduclous but some of it has now gone too far the other way. Wouldn't love it, wouldn't hate it. I just think that, like most QB's in this class, he's a long term guy. The league isn't churning out starters enough with these picks to make me think he'll get the time he needs.
-
I would love a compensatory pick. I'd feel a little more secure about drafting a kicker with more picks. I think this is a draft where I'd probably give up a 1st rounder for another 3 picks in the 40-75 range.
-
This is my favourite Cardale piece I've read. It was written before the 2015 season about that 3 game stint on the way to a National title. I think it's pretty fair and I'm not necessarily pro or anti-Cardale. I think, to a large degree, he's the same player now as when the piece was written. http://www.footballsavages.com/cardale-jones-and-accepting-the-role-of-an-offense-in-evaluation/

Has anyone watched anything of Alex McCalister from Florida yet? Early declaration, got kicked off the team late last year. Looks like he could be a late round pick, long term guy. 6' 5", 239lbs, long arms. All finesse, not much power. Only has one pass rush move. Could bulk up and play SLB, could back up Jerry at JLB, could feasibly learn to drop in coverage as a nickel LB. EDIT: Certainly wouldn't draft him, even before the off-field stuff. Priority free agent, stick him on the PS for a while. One of those guys that I'd like to believe could develop but I'm not sure the NFL has the patience to see it come to fruition. You'd be taking a punt on his physical ability and hoping a football player emerges one day.

Honestly, I liked Wilds more last year than Mike Davis. Not watched anything of SC this year but I could buy into Wilds. Couple of other guys I've liked when I've watched them are Marteze Waller (Fresno St) & Paul James (Rutgers). The UDFA RB pool should be plentiful.
