  1. I did make the effort to include the Lott trophy nomination. I have listened to you when you've spoke about his character so I thought it was only fair to include it. God knows I give out enough flack to those with character concerns. I don't love him as a player but I still like him. Will be firmly behind Jack, Smith, Ragland, Brothers & Martinez in my ILB rankings but I think there's something to work with there.
  2. So, I wrote something on Joshua Perry - http://buffalofambase.org/2016/02/18/2016-nfl-draft-ohio-state-lb-joshua-perry/ Please don't set Buckeye Twitter on me, Yolo.
  3. I actually don't know who the emergency snapper is on the roster. It used to be Lee Smith.
  4. Watching some Pharoh Cooper and it made me realise why I fell in love with him last year. Would like him as a Harvin replacement. Another note, South Carolina need to have their team taken away from them. It's an absolute **** show. It's like they willingly played the village idiot at QB this year.
  5. I like both Minnesota CB's in the right context. Murray came in a lot shorter than listed and I thought he'd be longer too. Can get really grabby, needs that coaching out of him. Take him Day 3 and coach him up, should be decent depth if nothing else. Boddy-Calhoun is NFL-ready to start Day 1 as a nickel. Good man skills, changes direction well. Scrappy bastard in run support too. KJ Dillon is a guy I'd "bang the table" for. I think he'll be a steal if he goes where he's being projected. Buffalo is a great situation for him, wouldn't have to play immediately, could rotate in at either spot. Can try him out as a KR/PR in camp too. All the guys I like at safety this year seem to be the lower rated guys, maybe I'm just an idiot.
  6. If the Bills want to add another nickel type corner, not a bad class to do it. Been watching a few CB's over the past couple of days. I'd love Briean Boddy-Calhoun from Minnesota. I think he's the premier nickel in the class.
  7. Thanks. I'm really lazy with my Vines these days but I'll bear that in mind. I use an alternate Twitter account just to keep them organised because Vine is a pain for finding my own stuff.
  8. Did a quick look at Sheldon Rankins - http://buffalofambase.org/2016/02/15/2016-nfl-draft-louisville-dl-sheldon-rankins/
  9. If I ever own a racehorse, I'm calling it Little Breather in honour of this thread.
  10. He's a space eater and that's all you need. Stand there and hold ground against a double team. He's shown the ability to do that already. Obviously you don't invest too highly in that and maybe you don't keep him around for a 2nd contract but he can be useful. As you said, 4th round would be good value. Not many guys in that range will be capable of playing straight away.
  11. He's a hard guy to put a value on for a number of reasons. Only ever been a rotational guy, doesn't play many 3rd downs, not a pass rusher. He probably tops out at a 40% of snaps type of guy. I also think he's not likely to be a 1st year starter. I think he might need some time to adapt his physique and technique a little. If he can be a 3 year starter at around 700k a year, that's priceless for a team with cap issues.
  12. I got 35 and I had nearly 3 minutes left. I rushed a few questions thinking I needed the time at the end. Same score as Aaron Rodgers. Beaten by 7 points by Blaine bloody Gabbert!
  13. I was watching 2014 games. Nothing to do with the injury, he's just not good enough. Backup, 2-down LB that might be able to play ST. A while ago, I said he was the Nick O'Leary of linebackers. I think it's true. Productive in spite of himself but limited future as a pro.
  14. Not everyone is made for that workload, it's not really a bad thing either. Not to say that Langford can't (not a big fan of his game myself) but, if he can't, you can't spend a season regretting it. You're right on Karlos though, he's not held up that well to increased carries. Frankly, I think he's too big for that role. Lot of weight to keep moving around.
  15. I'd take Fred West before this scumbag. It's a case of when and not if he gets in trouble again, why waste your time?
  16. I'm guessing you hate Tyrod. What he's done to my Teddy should bring prosecution. I guess I'm not in favour. He's terrible.
  17. With limited usage, yeah. Whether he can sustain a Forte-like workload remains to be seen. Didn't do it much in college either.
  18. When people talk about a "complete back", they mean Forte. Parting ways makes sense for both parties, Bears certainly need to find a receiving back though. I still think he's got plenty left and I hope he doesn't end up in Foxboro.
  19. Lawrence Thomas from Michigan State is a whole lot of fun. Former linebacker, moved to fullback, converted to DT, then DE and then played a hybrid DE/DT role. Reckons he can run sub-4.8 at 281 pounds. Could play anywhere across a 3-4 DL with a year to add 10-15 pounds, can play NT at that weight. Not a pass rusher at all, just a rotational 'run downs' guy.
  20. I need to resist the desire to write about Scooby Wright. It'll end up being a 3000 word thesis on mental acumen in football. I talk about him in theory and I'm quite rational. I watch him and it makes me so angry. Making plays is the physical manifestation of mental acumen. He just lacks the physical skills to consistently do what his mind wants him to. He's not even 'unathletic', just that his athletic ability fails him enough in certain situations (which are unavoidable at the position) that I don't think he'll ever be good enough to be a starter. He's a fascinating case study for evaluation.
  21. "You need this like a kick to the head"
  22. I really wanted Josh Perry to be better than he is. Physically, he's built how I like my ILB's but he's not nearly consistent enough or assertive enough to be near the top of my wishlist. Being a little stiff comes with being that size, doesn't stop him being solid in coverage. Needs to take on blockers with more power, needs to shed better, can't get away with lapses in eye discipline with his athletic profile. Someone needs to take Brandon Spikes' nasty streak and give it to Perry. Wouldn't touch him before the 3rd and would prefer Brothers/Martinez before him. I could only hope that some Ryan influence might turn him into the bastard he should be.
  23. I have decided that Vernon Butler is my new guy that I want to like but I don't. Last year, it was Carl Davis. So many times he's there to make a play but he doesn't. Athletically, he's just a touch below what I like. He can get a bit lazy, there's also a temper there that he needs to control. Not a bad player by any stretch of the imagination, just don't see the 1st rounder some rave about.
  24. Why draft a true Center? Why not another DT from UB and make him one? Probably the most likely fit for a 1st round slot.
  25. Voted for low tier FA. Bilal Powell as the yin to Karlos' yang would be a nice mixture of skills. I've loved Powell since college and has a prior relationship with Rex. Wouldn't say no to drafting one either. Would be moderately cheaper which would help with the cap hit for McCoy.
