  1. I can only judge him how I see him but I don't see a 1st round pick when I watch him. I see a strong safety with athletic limitations but a seriously educated football player. Smart players won't ever go out of fashion. If 19 is the only place I can take him, I wish him luck elsewhere. Not a player I'm chasing around the board. They did indeed. Shaq is seemingly listed as the SAM for now but he's a ready-made WLB. It was acknowledged in many circles that Shaq was taken as the heir apparent to Davis.
  2. Does it bother you that he turns 25 during his rookie year?
  3. Su'a Cravens (or more likely his agent) are refusing all private workouts. I get the quoted logic behind it but it seems like an error to refuse all requests. He's not a slam dunk prospect by any stretch, can't afford to be seen as burning bridges this early. Some teams have long memories, some won't forget in 4 years when he's a free agent. I put this in the DB thread because he ain't a linebacker.
  4. The tape I've watched on him is 2 years old so I don't feel qualified to give an evaluation. Rob Quinn has watched him though - http://buildingtheherd.com/scout-team/scouting-reports/kyler-fackrell-scouting-report-is-utah-state-edge-a-potential-buffalo-bills-target-in-2016-nfl-draft/ Haven't watched anything post ACL surgery myself. I know that he was a really good athlete before the injury.
  5. I'm not sure exactly where he fits, classic tweener type. No doubt that he's a really good athlete, but his weight density isn't ideal for playing SLB. I don't particularly like him as a pass rusher either. Lacks the instincts to play ILB full time right now. One of the players that Mockdraftable have him athletically similar to is Kyler Fackrell. If we're going to draft an athletic profile in need of refinement, why take Floyd in the 1st when Fackrell will likely be there in the 3rd? Too many questions about Floyd to take him at 19 for me.
  6. Me thinks Todd was watching the other corner by mistake or something.
  7. People who loved Tom Savage and Sean Mannion also love Kevin Hogan. The guy has a winning complexion for some in the draft media. I don't draft Kevin Hogan at all. He's a dagger through the heart in the red zone, he's inaccurate as a passer. I've not seen this reinvented throwing motion yet so I can't comment if he's shortened it up by much. There's also no telling if he's going to revert back to old habits under pressure. Kevin Hogan is a guy I pick up as a UDFA. He's my QB3 (or PS QB depending on roster composition). He's a smart guy, he's routinely made checks/audibles at the LOS and that's a testament to his film room preparation. I'd rather have him as a coach than a player. He has a place in the NFL, it just isn't on the field.
  8. I've been working on a 2016 roster for a while now and thought I'd look at how the draft would go if I went purely with need picks based off the holes left on my roster. I used the Composite board on Fanspeak so that I wasn't just picking guys from my rankings and making things work out wonderfully for me. Starting ILB: Reggie Ragland - LB - Alabama #2 WR: Kenny Lawler - WR - California Developmental QB: Dakota Prescott - QB - Mississippi State Backup boundary Corner: Eric Murray - CB - Minnesota Nose Tackle: DJ Reader - NT - Clemson Swing IOL: Joe Thuney - OL - NC State Depth LB: Blake Martinez - LB - Stanford Kicker: Ka'imi Fairbairn - K - UCLA First of all, the thing that stands out is only 1 DL and he's a 30-40% of snaps guy in the 4th. This isn't how I would draft (although, with the exception of Murray, I like/love every pick) but I thought it was an interesting exercise to see what I'd get drafting BPA at a specific position in a specific round.
  9. Decent piece on Josh Perry by Nicholas McGee on Draft Breakdown - http://draftbreakdown.com/the-frustrating-case-of-ohio-state-lb-joshua-perry/ At least it's not just me that thinks he's deficient in areas he can't afford to be.
  10. According to my Twitter pal Chris Shanafelt, the Bills met with Lindenwood WR Greg Coble after his Pro Day workout yesterday. Pro Day results - 6'0", 190lbs, 4.46 40, 43" vertical jump, 10'1" broad jump, 9 3/8" hands, 33.5" arm length. 68 catches for 1126 yards and 7 touchdowns in his two years at LU. Transfer from Murray State. Limited experience as a KR in 2014.
  11. CollegeFBDude on Youtube put this up on Tuesday - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mo3l5TM_ijI
  12. I've always thought that one point for an XP was fair, given the relative difficulty (or lack thereof) of the kick. As you stated, it doesn't make sense the way the scoring system stands now. If you made a chip shot FG worth 1 point, it would make teams go for it on 4th and Goal more. It would penalise teams with an inept RZ offense. That would make the game much more 'sexy' than the rule change for the XP. Try as they might, you can't make the kicking game sexy. There's too many mouth breathers that resent special teamers even being on the field to make it more watchable.
  13. I don't think it should have as much bearing on the game as it did last year. I think making it permanent is the right move, if only that kickers can solely focus on it without any potential limbo about it changing back again. Kickers are creatures of habit, it clearly shook a select few of them last year (Carpenter included). 33 yard field goals aren't hard outside of rain and frozen conditions. I think where your team plays dictates how you see the rule change.
  14. I still can't decide where I'd play him. I think ultimately he'll get kicked in to RG. He certainly has the requisite nasty to play on the interior. If I can get Decker/Stanley at 19, I take them. RT upgrade, shown ability to play LT, gives leverage with Cordy.
  15. I really really hope not. I'm aware that I'm lower on him than most are.
  16. Maybe it refers to teams asking him to throw particular routes after his scripted set?
  17. What you should've done while you've been invading the world recently is teach them your sports. We gave the world football and cricket while we owned half the planet and didn't have to take meaningful games abroad for financial growth. Global games, the NFL is small fry in comparison.
  18. Boaty McBoatface for Prime Minister. The best bit? The guy that suggested it apologised for all the commotion. How English of him.
  19. Best - Myles Jack Bust - DeForest Buckner Sleepers - Joe Thuney (Offense), Jason Fanaika (Defense)
  20. Totally unrealistic but....... 19: R1P19 OT TAYLOR DECKER OHIO STATE 49: R2P18 DT CHRIS JONES MISSISSIPPI STATE 80: R3P17 OLB JORDAN JENKINS GEORGIA 118: R4P19 WR TYLER BOYD PITTSBURGH 140: R4P41 DE CHARLES TAPPER OKLAHOMA 157: R5P17 ILB BLAKE MARTINEZ STANFORD 193: R6P17 G JOE THUNEY NORTH CAROLINA STATE 219: R6P43 K KAIMI FAIRBAIRN UCLA
  21. I think Shittu could be a really versatile guy for Rex. Could play 3/5/7-Tech pretty comfortably if he's close to his Stanford listed 279lbs. Shittu is kinda similar to how I see Charles Tapper's NFL career going (I think Tapper plays at a higher weight than he was at the Combine). Do it all rotational stalwart that'll make a decent 5-8 year career for himself. Anderson is more a pet project. I like him but I have a sneaky feeling that he'll fall short in his testing numbers.
  22. Intrigued to see workout numbers for Kevin Anderson & Aziz Shittu.
  23. The joy of trying him at corner is that you automatically have a secondary option to make him viable. I think he would be the third best WR in Buffalo but probably only the 5th/6th best corner so I wouldn't move him if picked by the Bills but I see the appeal.
  24. That's still only 159 of his 624 pass attempts to fall off (from last season). Brady is already distinctly average 11+ yards downfield.
  25. I saw reports as low as 4.27 (hand times) but I thought he was probably a 4.4 guy on the field. I don't care where you play him, just give him a year to put on a little weight and let him flourish.
