  1. New man crush! Navy RB Chris Swain. Came in at 6'1", 245lbs at his Pro Day, ran a 4.67. Personally think he's a RB, not a fullback. Watch this game vs Memphis (http://draftbreakdown.com/video/chris-swain-vs-memphis-2015/) and tell me you don't love him too.
  2. He wasn't draftable anyway. Baylor really has a problem with this stuff. Kinda makes you think that Art Briles might be a scumbag.
  3. Absolutely. I don't always agree with Rob but I respect his opinion higher than most. Talking football with him over the past couple of years has been a lot of fun.
  4. He's really not good. He's actually worse than EJ as a prospect in my eyes and I didn't like EJ one bit.
  5. Browns game showed up more of what others have told me about him. Got turned around by misdirection a couple of times. Bit on a couple of fakes. Coverage game was still solid. On a side note, I adore Jim Dray. Browns trusted him to reach block Orakpo and Morgan in that game. One missed assignment on a wham block but overall, he's just mean.
  6. Agreed that Preston is the more likely guy for it given their respective size. Just a point that if he's asked to, I'm not sure Zach can do it (at least not consistently). He was still disruptive against the run in that TB game without doing so.
  7. Smart decision for the guy. It's all about risk management and the benefits stopped outweighing the risk. It's a shame because AJ is a lovely dude, been a fan since his days at Stanford. I wish him all the best for the future.
  8. The Temple game was the one for me. Averaged about 4.6 yards per attempt. So many bubble screens. His FB/TE Alan Cross might be a decent UDFA pickup though. Could knock O'Leary off the roster.
  9. Rankins isn't the phenom Aaron Donald was/is. Donald was a better pass rusher by a country mile. I don't think Donald was scheme-diverse like Rankins is though. Rankins is a future-proof pick if the Rex effect flounders and we end up back in a 4-3 scheme. He's athletically shy of guys like Gerald McCoy and Geno Atkins in that 290-something range. He's not far off Malik Jackson coming out of Tennessee though (and 15lbs heavier).
  10. They tried! @ChrisBrownBills 40s40 seconds ago Confirmed: #Bills put in claim for released Browns CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu. Former 7th-rd pick on I-R in '15. Awarded to Miami based on record.
  11. The repeated mantra in my head is 'They did this with Bryce Petty'. Is it clear that I don't trust this team?
  12. Mackenzie Alexander is probably the most likely 'shock' pick. Rex loves DB's and Clemson so a Clemson DB might just make him happy. Another guy that no Bills fans talk about is Kansas State OL Cody Whitehair. The world and his wife projects him inside but maybe the Bills like him as a RT?
  13. If the Bills draft that overgrown Pirates of the Caribbean reject, I might need to find a team that treats me better.
  14. A'Shawn Robinson, Sheldon Rankins, Andrew Billings. Obviously there's Bosa, Spence, Shaq Lawson too but they go in the Edge class for me.
  15. That seems to be the sweet spot for the media. He's not a finished article yet as a route runner but he plays quicker than his measurements suggest. Hard to judge him considering how awful that SC team has been recently. His best QB was Dylan freakin Thompson! He's one of the jack-of-all-trades types. Played WR, RB, wildcat QB, KR, PR. Teammates and coaches seem to adore him as a leader. As far as I know, he never moaned about how bad the team was and helped the transition after Spurrier left mid-season. The kid just loves the game, he's infectious.
  16. I'm much higher on Decker than most are. I think he's a top 10 player in the class and a future franchise LT. Hence why he would come into the reckoning at 19 as BPA. Only got 3 DL players higher ranked than him.
  17. It's a possibility that's he's undersized to play NT in the NFL (it would only be situational in my plan for him) but he's played NT & DE at Louisville quite successfully playing 1-gap and 2-gap roles. With teams being in nickel/dime packages so much these days, I think it's better to target Rankins over Billings as the interior complement to Dareus. I don't see Nkemdiche being able to play any spot in a 3-4. For me, he's a pure 4-3 1-gapping 3-Tech. On top of that, I wouldn't call him gifted either. Gifted players produce and Robert just hasn't. He's nothing but recruiting hype. As I mentioned a while back, he's just a souped up version of Rakeem Nunez-Roches (who KC drafted in the 6th round). RNR had 21.5 TFL's, 5 sacks at Southern Miss, Nkemdiche had 16 TFL's, 6 sacks at Ole Miss. Add into the mix that he can't put the bong down and his brother hangs around like a bad smell (Denzel is a huge influence on his little brother and might be schizophrenic). I just don't see him fulfilling what potential he has.
  18. A round too early for me but I certainly see the logic. Things have gone a tad overboard with Vern, particularly the comparison to Mo Wilkerson. If there was a Wilkerson calibre DL in this class, he would be a consensus top 10 guy. Sheldon Rankins is probably my dream DL scenario at 19. Can play all 3 DL spots in base, rotate with Kyle at 3-Tech in packages (maybe even strong side DE in a 4-man front). The man makes me salivate.
  19. I like the idea of Braxton but I'm just not convinced that he's worth anything but a Day 3 pick. I love the guy, I actually liked him as a QB and I respect him for making the change and working hard at it. It's one of those projections where I'd rather err on the side of caution (Miller is my 22nd ranked WR on film grades). Plenty of guys who are 'proper' receivers in the class that I have a higher comfort level with. I wouldn't hate him on the roster though. If we do go down the Harvin replacement road, I think I'd just prefer Pharoh Cooper. Woods is a guy I can live with as my #2, particularly with the kind of passing attack we have. If the talent is there to knock him down a rung on the ladder, that guy is going to be pretty decent to dislodge him. Win-win. Passing targets are lacking, especially if they want Tyrod to prove something. Roman doesn't throw many RB passes. It's essentially Watkins/Woods/Clay and then Greg Salad and Jim 'Forgot About' Dray. Cringeworthy.
  20. I don't see him fitting well in a 3-4 base scheme. Agility scores were a bit meh, think he would struggle mightily on coverage drops. As a 4-3 LDE, I don't mind him. His effort levels soured me quite a bit. If we're taking that kind of guy, I'd rather get value from Jordan Jenkins in the 3rd-4th range. Situational pass rusher type.
  21. I'll admit, I'm torn about when we take WR in this class. All I know is that after Watkins/Woods, we don't have a receiver that deserves a place on the roster. I'm a big Treadwell fan. As noted above, his blocking is just the cherry on the icing on the cake. Fantastic scheme fit. I think Doctson can be special. The more I watch him, the more I'm convinced that he's a potential superstar. The body control, the high point ability, the sheer audacity of the man at times. The class has horses for courses and thankfully we already have our #1 guy. No need to reach for someone. I just think I'd consider drafting 2 at some point.
  22. Aaaand it would be a guy I really don't like! Doug has this down to an art form with me.
  23. If Taylor Decker makes it to #19, I think he would likely be my personal BPA. Tunsil already gone and Decker gone? It might be a big need but don't reach for one. Not in this class.
