But then I remember him fondly as Foghorn Leghorn and smile.

Hashtag deep ball QB. @PFF_Sam Bowling Green QB Matt Johnson completed 40 passes travelling 20+ yards in the air in 2015, 20 of them went for touchdown.

I think he's a developmental QB with some endearing traits. Just thinking about Buffalo in terms of environment, he fits the bill of big hands and big arm to counteract rain/wind. He's mobile enough for what Greg Roman wants to do (he's basically the perfect Kubiak QB, rollouts/bootlegs come easy to him), not afraid to take shots vertically. Big issues come with the scheme that he was in. Asks him to do very basic reads, he's poor in intermediate areas. I don't take him before the 4th myself, at 19 I think he's career suicide for Dougie.

Worth pointing out that Gil has been friends with Lynch's agent, Leigh Steinberg, for decades.

Please draft Reggie Ragland…

"But Jon Allen.......DaShawn Hand......Dalvin Tomlinson". Every damn year without fail. That Bama D is going to be fun again next year. Tim Williams, Ryan Anderson, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Eddie Jackson -
I could put up with Murphy that early for the rest of it.

Carolina rescinds tag on Norman

Told you someone would pay it. -
I think Bosa is like a cleaner version of Robert Nkemdiche on a personal level. Guys aren't quite sure what to make of him because he's not your typical football meathead. Seeing Vernon drop definitely does add some legitimacy to those rumours. No way a player of his calibre should drop this late in the process unless it's off-field.

The guys that mentioned Hargreaves seemed quite certain. I think the Bosa link may have been more association because of the raves. Both could be wrong, just relaying what I've heard.

Please draft Reggie Ragland…

He's a matchup guy. A chess piece. I don't mind him if there's variety to his usage. I guess the main issue I have is how that gets valued. Frankly, I wouldn't take him before the 3rd. I saw the same thing said about Dont'a Hightower. About CJ Mosley. Why punish a player for having good teammates? The idea in the NFL is to surround them with NFL-calibre DL as well. Trey DePriest went undrafted a year ago so it's not like every Alabama LB gets this kind of 'hype', just the good ones. -

I don't get this Cravens at LB thing. He had to drop weight (pro day was 220 pounds) to run sub 4.7. As that third safety Rex likes to run, sure. The idea of playing him at WILB is beyond me though. He's a smart and talented guy, I hope the new small ILB fad doesn't ruin him. -
Weird. I've heard a rumour about a failed test at the Combine for a high profile player too. A few thought it was Bosa. Others thought it was Vernon Hargreaves.

Please draft Reggie Ragland…

I wholeheartedly agree that Reggie shouldn't be at the top of the Bills board. He's not the biggest need pick because Preston can do a job at MLB. As much as I love Ragland as a player, I realise that he's probably not the guy we should be after at 19. Part of me is thinking that LB drops off faster than DL does and that's leading me to thinking of taking LB in the 1st and leaving DL for later rounds (where some real talent should be left at 49). Part of me is thinking the same about an edge rusher. Take Spence or Shaq Lawson if they're available at 19 because the dropoff is pretty severe at EDGE too. Same applies to Taylor Decker if he's available. What really inspired my mini-rant about Ragland wasn't people like yourself. I'm not blind to circumstance, I know that the team has bigger weaknesses than MLB. It's simply that I hate the fact that certain fallacies (or things I believe to be fallacies) are being spread about him by people that probably haven't ever watched him play. I also dug my heels in after all those idiots decided to get after Teddy Bridgewater because of his Pro Day. Chances are, that was about all most of them saw of Teddy. In short, I think I hate the draft process. -
What if his career is similar to Justin Smith? I could see him being that good as a 5-Tech.

Bills enamored with Cardale Jones?
Blokestradamus replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I found my benchmark -
I wouldn't fault them for taking the chance. I was kinda sceptical about Jaylon as a fit for the Bills before the injury but it would be a risk I wouldn't mind them taking. Just not too early.

Biggest mistake people make is assuming he's an idiot. He's clearly not. He does have some issues with mental process but that's more of an experience barrier. Taking stuff from the film room on to the field is a process that he's not been through fully yet. Same issue for Carson Wentz. -
Crystal Ball: Top Prospects for 2016 NFL Draft
Blokestradamus replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Entering the period where mock drafts aim to be right on draft day, not analysing fit. I welcome our new Mississippi State overlord. -
The problem right there is 'thinks'. It's all guesswork, the nerve coming back could be weeks, months or years down the line. It'll take a brave team to draft him. Wherever he ends up, I'll hope for the best for him. Chances are that he's another Marcus Lattimore, as sad as that idea is.

Interesting note on Rotoworld on everyone's favourite midget, Vernon Adams: "Oregon QB Vernon Adams told Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle that he has not had a pre-draft visit or private workout with an NFL team during the draft process. Adams did attend the Rams' local pro day, but that does not count in this scenario" Source of the report - https://twitter.com/Eric_Branch/status/722996140900130816

Please draft Reggie Ragland…
Blokestradamus replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reggie has been dealing with a shoulder complaint for a while. It's why he didn't lift at the Combine. Perhaps scouts asked nicely at his Pro Day and he gave it a shot. I can't help you if you watch him play and think he's weak. He's also not slow (he just isn't fast) and he can cover better than most of the guys you probably think are coverage LB's. My real problem is that that's the ONLY game 90% of people have watched him in. I get a LOT of SEC games over here, I've probably watched him a dozen times live. I've watched the 8 games on DraftBreakdown twice over (like with Teddy Bridgewater, I did a re-check after a wall of criticism). I genuinely don't think enough people have done their due diligence on him. Saw one game and a 40 time and figured they know him as a player. Of course there's exceptions to this (we both know who talks a good game here) but I think the entire draft discussion is diluted by people who get their opinions from elsewhere. -
I hope that the NFL has the sense to let him drop enough to let his insurance policy pay out in full. That'll be the 74th pick. I fully anticipate that he'll be a Day 3 pick. There's just too much risk associated with his injury.

Wasn't a conscious thing, honest! Other way around works for me too.

Carolina rescinds tag on Norman
Blokestradamus replied to CommonCents's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There might be someone desperate enough to splash the cash on him. Even if the Panthers didn't, someone else might. Carolina value their DL more, they'll spend on Short and Lotulelei. If average corners like Joe Haden are getting $13.5m a year, Norman has every right to hold out for more. -
I'm just saying, I wouldn't hate it. I could do the same on the back end with Jalen Ramsey and it looks pretty good. I could change one of the Brown brothers for Myles Jack to the same effect. Tough to advocate trading up but, if it was for the right player, can't go wrong acquiring elite calibre talent.
