RD 5, pick 17 (161): Tommy Doyle, OT (Miami, OH)

And I thought it was tough learning how to correctly sex a chicken. -
All of the teams should grade each other's drafts like they do in Eurovision. Instead of nul points for Russia because they annexed Crimea, we could have teams giving nul points to teams in their own division. Like with Eurovision, the overall winner hosts the draft next year.

I don't make mistakes, I'm merely differently correct. -

This aged like a fine wine 🤣 -
Just going to throw Kentucky center Drake Jackson into the ring, as well. If he can land in an good spot, where he's able to spend a year as a backup or on the practice squad, and add a little more functional strength, I think he's got the potential to be a decent starter down the line. Technically superb, extremely poised, high football IQ. Just a little bit limited athletically and in terms of length.

Do you like the New number rules?

I'm not sure I'd give that many college QB's credit. Let's not forget that Bryce Petty learned how to read defensive fronts playing Madden while on the Jets roster. -
I can get 9/4 on that happening. Might be worth 10p.

I would've shopped Johnny Hekker for the 1st round pick he's worth if this news was available when we started. -

With the 103rd pick in the TSW Mock Draft 2.0, the Los Angeles Rams select Thomas Graham Jr, CB, Oregon. With the loss of Troy Hill in free agency, our corner group is a little thin on the ground. We think Thomas can come in and contribute in sub-packages immediately. His smarts and ability to play above his size are traits that we love. We feel that he gives us some added flexibility, given his experience and skill set on the boundary, allowing us to continue letting Jalen follow the biggest threat on the opposition offense. The Baltimore Ravens are on the clock @section122 Thank you for not stealing my player @HappyDays -

I tried to steer people towards a corner in the first and I voted for 'not Shelvin' in the second but the heart wants what it wants. Unfortunately, the heart wants a fat guy that, at the very best, is a functional unit peaking at around 45% of snaps and someone for a position that I'm not even 100% sure exists -
If the idea is to come out of this draft with a viable 1-tech, I think options are limited. I'd prefer Alim McNeill in the 3rd if plausible. After him, maybe Marlon Tuipulotu if he's around on Day 3. I'm not in love with Slaton and Shelvin, I just think they get a lot of hype because they break the scales.

The Athletic: NFL Draft Confidential

Even if he got down to somewhere around 250, I could make a long-term case for him to be a 3-4 Mike. Someone like Benardrick McKinney but that would mean that he flips a switch in terms of his aggression and is willing to take on all forms of contact, not just the contact that's on his terms. Being passive with block shedding is a no-no for me as a linebacker. The sight of Collins beating a tackle around the edge and then coming to a complete stop because of a 185-pound running back is going to stick with me for a long time. Especially when you've got 225-pound Riley Cole chucking RT's about for fun at a similar level. I'd rather have Dylan Moses on a gimpy leg. -

The only way that I could be convinced to like Collins as a prospect is if he cut down to around 240-245 and improved his overall athleticism. He's quite athletic for a 260 pound human but not for an NFL linebacker. Then he adds weight at the medical Combine and he's now 270 pounds. You want to take him early and teach him how to rush the passer from almost scratch? ***** that. He's way too soft to play with the big boys. -

I haven't watched him. I cannot get enthused about watching defensive backs en masse. Tall, good hair, fun name to say/spell. The totality of my analysis. -

I'm really glad that poll is public. Couple of guys that I put up that I really don't like and I'm judging the people voting for them so hard. -
I was considering Kellen because I also love him. Just wasn't sure that his name would get much traction given that we've got Josh and Trubisky under contract. He's definitely my Dak of this class in terms of the summer scouting notes being borderline draftable but transitioning into a legitimate long-term developmental prospect over his senior season. I wonder if Dak knows that I've got a grading accolade that's attributed to him? Or that he even cares?

These are the options that I came up with. A little bit of everything but trying to avoid doubling up where we've picked in the first two rounds. RB Michael Carter, North Carolina RB Rhamondre Stevenson, Oklahoma WR Anthony Schwartz, Auburn WR D’Wayne Eskridge, Western Michigan TE Hunter Long, Boston College OT James Hudson, Cincinnati OG Deonte Brown, Alabama CB Trill Williams, Syracuse CB Israel Mukuamu, South Carolina S Hamsah Nasirildeen, Florida State S Talanoa Hufanga, USC
