  1. Still want to play Brady. Your courts are all jerks.
  2. I love watching these guys compete for a job. There's something beautiful about watching someone give everything to achieve their dream. I'm the kind of nerd that takes notes during preseason games.
  3. I think the Seahawks will play the Packers.
  4. I'd actually like to see a catch ruled legal with one foot in bounds (or make 2 feet count in NCAA). That inconsistency seems to be unnecessary.
  5. It's a roster evaluation period. 4 is absolutely fine. Am I the only one that actually enjoys preseason games?
  6. Right, not any real bold predictions. Just trying to be a little accurate. Production is based on the ideals of all participants being healthy for 16 games. Tyrod: 289 of 448 (64.5%) 3674 yards (8.2 YPA) 27/11 TD/INT ratio 99.8 passer rating 108 rushes, 572 yards, 2 TD. McCoy: 280 attempts 1316 yards (4.7 YPC) 41 receptions, 377 yards 9 total TD RB2: 115 attempts 552 yards (4.8 YPC) 11 receptions, 91 yards 6 total TD Watkins: 85 receptions 1428 yards (16.8 YPR) 11 TD Woods: 54 receptions 610 yards (11.3 YPR) 4 TD WR3: 29 receptions 351 yards (12.1 YPR) 3 TD Clay: 49 receptions 578 yards (11.8 YPR) 6 TD
  7. I'm still weighing up how much production matters to me. I think that, for the most part, all good players are productive but not all productive players are good. On the All-Time passing yards in a career list for CFB, you have to go down to #10 before you find anyone with a pro career worth talking about (P. Rivers). The biggest test case for 2017 will be Auburn DE Carl Lawson. Watch him against Laremy Tunsil and you think he'll be a phenom. Look at his stats and it's 18 games, 37 tackles, 10.5 TFL, 5 sacks, 2 FF. At some point, like with Robert Nkemdiche, you have to see talent become production.
  8. One of the things that I often wonder is how my process differs from others when watching football. Having spent a lot of time watching draft prospects over the past 3-4 years, I've certainly noticed that I've developed a type. I can watch a certain player in a certain position and key in on my focal points. I feel that it's more a case of refining a process to try and eradicate future mistakes. I've learned to not fear being wrong but to embrace it and learn from it. To get a bigger point of reference, enlighten me on what you look for in any particular position.
  9. I'll be honest, I don't pay much attention to a lot of NFL-related US media. I find most of it to be drivel. The podcast that he mentioned is well worth a listen. Duke is one of the smartest OL guys I've listened to. I really hope Geoff follows the lead of Matt Bowen. Former journeyman player turned writer. Matt is probably the finest X's and O's writer out there. Informative without coming across as overcomplicated or dumbing down.
  10. A look at Chad Kelly by @QBKlass - http://www.qbmecca.com/chad-kelly-impending-downfall/
  11. Pretty much the same as me. I'm not sure if arm length is crucial. I'd hate to be the guy that saw Joe Thomas with 32 1/2" arm length and called him a guard. To be an effective C/G, patience is no virtue. Got to win the rep quickly. If the Fins are really playing Tunsil at G, he'll be declared a bust before their bye week.
  12. Biggest thing I got out of that is that there seems to be a less-than-subtle hint that Monroe got cut by Baltimore for his pot stance. I know it's been mentioned before but it seems that idea took hold in locker rooms too. There's no doubt in my mind that Geoff will be a great analyst of the game once he retires. He's intelligent and willing to share his insight. Offensive line play is something so crucial to the game and yet so little is understood or respected about OL play by the majority of football fans.
  13. I really hate analysis like this - http://draftbreakdown.com/outland-trophy-watch-list-includes-utah-ot-j-j-dielman/ And I quote: "His struggles tend to be in pass protection, especially against defensive ends who have good hand play. Dielman doesn’t always win the hand battle at the snap and because of that, he loses balance and lunges in a desperate effort to recover" "If he fails to elevate his play on the edge, he’ll likely project as a guard in the pros" Okay Bryan, I can really see a guy with slow hands translating to guard. It's really !@#$ing lazy and it plays up to what should be a dead narrative.
  14. I did a 2 man league with a friend on the NFLUK site last year but it doesn't really appeal much to me (mainly because I lost to a novice). If I took it seriously, I'd probably be half-decent.
  15. With the CFL pre-snap motion, Cyrus could play every down without a false start penalty!
  16. I don't quite know if the Reception Perception stuff that Matt Harmon does is entirely my kind of thing but a lot of football & fantasy guys love his work. All I know is that Matt loves him some Moncrief - http://www.thebackyardbanter.com/reception-perception-improved-technician-donte-moncrief-is-set-to-explode-in-2016.html
  17. Not gonna hold my breath on another general election. As much as May might dislike what Brown did, she can also argue that it set a precedent. I just want to get the process moving and take away some of the uncertainty. I'd rather plan for a future I don't like.
  18. I'm not a big fantasy player but I will say one thing. Draft. Donte. Moncrief.
  19. I remember when May said Gordon Brown shouldn't be PM without an election. Wonder if she feels the same now?
  20. I've got a few dozen Pokemon cards from my youth (I stole the packs, I'm not a complete nerd). I feel like I might be pretty popular if I brag about having them.
  21. It led to this. God bless Pokemon. https://twitter.com/AndyCole84/status/751810635839643648
  22. Scrap defensive holding being an automatic first down. Only becomes a 1st down if it's 5 or less yards to gain. Also, remove DPI on severely underthrown deep balls. Stop rewarding terrible throws.
