  1. If he stays healthy, he's their best RB. Savvy receiver that might be going against 240+ pound LB's in isolation vs the Bills. Not wrong to mock because history says that he might not make it to Week 7.
  2. To this point, @ITP_ChuckZ wrote this on the new discussed regulations - http://insidethepylon.com/nfl/long-form-editorial/opinion-long-form-editorial/2016/07/19/kicks-chips-nfl-thinks-kickers-good/
  3. Chris Brown seemingly confirming Bush got offered veteran minimum. Link to the tweet - https://twitter.com/ChrisBrownBills/status/755404476794765312 @ChrisBrownBills @fishboy1986 Believe they see him purely as insurance. Offered minimum deal. Bush prob hoping for more.
  4. I was doing some early research into the cap issues that face the Bills in the near future. Robyn Mundy asked me to write something on the subject of future spend. About 1800 words later, I came up with this - http://buffalofambase.org/2016/07/19/bills-salary-cap-primer/ A look at minimum open market expectations for some pending free agents, at a couple of under-performing players fearing the axe and a couple of grisled vets that might be looking over their shoulder.
  5. I'm on the side of waiting until there's a bigger sample size to assess but I'm warming to Tyrod more as time goes by. I think it's more the fact that he's better than certain other QB's that have got paid recently (I have a salary cap thing out for BillsMafia tomorrow hopefully where I'll outline one of those a little more). I have no doubts about paying him if he continues to progress. Even if his ceiling isn't a great deal higher than what 2015 showed, not having him might be more costly than what might be seen as an overpayment. I also think there's plenty of ways to pay both Tyrod and Gilmore. Might not be a lot for new goodies in FA because of that but securing cornerstones for the future is the right path.
  6. Count me in. It's always better to lose against people you know.
  7. Forrest Lamp is a really good OT prospect from Western Kentucky. Going to end up typecast as a guard like Ali Marpet and Cody Whitehair were (in that 6'4", shade over 300lb bracket) but he can play LT in the NFL (as could the others mentioned). Probably closer to Whitehair in terms of athletic ability. Hopefully I can have my OT and IOL rankings done before the first preseason game.
  8. Obviously 2015 was a great year for him but I'm not sure he's in that upper echelon after one successful year. I guess I want to watch 2016 before I put him up there. 2015 was markedly better than what went before, it's tough to know if it was a fluke or his potential being realised.
  9. On his sofa, I think. I'm always going to be a Bryce truther. Just wish the guy was as invested in his future as I am.
  10. Because perfection is boring and failure makes for more critical opinion. Helps fill column inches.
  11. The kicking game wasn't broke until they started chipping away at it.

  13. 2 things: 1) People who spell definitely as defiantly. It's not even close, you !@#$ing morons. 2) If you Twitter, search for things like "the smell of his colon". Literally thousands of girls who seemingly think that a man's perfume is from his insides. I could rant forever on this topic.
  14. It was ancient history right up until the 2010 Combine. Really good prospect, genuinely attempted to rebuild his life, didn't shy away from it. When you look at some of the scumbags playing in the NFL, it's hard to stomach that he never got a shot. Give me a guy that tries to make things right over a victim blaming maggot like Frank Clark any day.
  15. As someone who only watches games online, I can't say that cheerleaders add anything to my gameday experience. It seems like a pretty archaic concept. I doubt anyone would notice if NFL cheerleaders all disappeared.
  16. This isn't going to end up with a court battle and Darron's primary Google search being 'Can an adult emancipate himself?'. Not a chance.
  17. RB decline is an issue but I'm not going to guess when it'll hit Shady. There's a chance he can maintain his prior level of play and, if he does, his ROI will be pretty good. At his best, he's mercurially brilliant. Personally, I don't like the 2018 cut idea. $5.25m is a significant cap penalty but I could see them biting that bullet if he's a moron off the field or a dud on it. Still feel like after 2018 would be the ideal point to break ties. When I look at the RB spend of teams like Pittsburgh and Oakland, I feel like they're making better use of resources. It's obviously bound to change if Bell/Murray have big years.
  18. What I'd be looking to run is some variation of the West Coast offense. What I want is a QB that excels in the short & intermediate areas, has the placement to allow yards after catch, is cerebral and brings a degree of mobility to the table. For me, I think that's the exact structure that sets Teddy up for success. Why I want him above others is that Teddy understands his limitations deep and won't take undue risks. It's a ball control, clock control scheme. The reason that he's not regarded that highly by most is because he's been in a scheme that doesn't fit him. I believe he had the most 7-step drops in the NFL with one of the worst pass protection lines in the NFL. He's still the supremely talented QB he was at Louisville but Norv has really struggled to cater for him. If he joins me in my crusade, I'll have him ticking in no time.
  19. Specialists excite me. It's a sickness with no known cure. Don't even get me started on Daniel Carlson at Auburn. Man, that kid is good.
  20. Might need to start a 2019 draft prospect thread. Little bit in love with Western Kentucky's punter.
  21. The trade was a good one. An injury-riddled linebacker (who was surplus to requirements) for a talented running back, that's a Bills win. The contract was !@#$ing awful. Essentially tied into the deal until 2019 because of handing him piles of guaranteed money. The only non-rookie RB deals with a higher percentage of guaranteed money are Chris Johnson (1 year, $1.5m, 86.6% guaranteed) and Matt Forte (3 year, $12m, 75% guaranteed). In terms of average salary, he's only behind Peterson and Charles. The amount of production you have to get from him to 'break even' in terms of return on investment is huge. Also bearing in mind that he's the polar opposite of what you think of when you imagine a Greg Roman RB1. I'm glad we've got him but not at the price they had to pay for it to happen. I'm a running back advocate but I'm not sure you shouldn't just keep drafting them, using them while they're cheap and discard them after 4 years.
  22. Oh, I understand that I'll be alone on this island. Not saying that I'd pass up Luck/Wilson/Winston if given the chance, just that Teddy is my guy if you put a gun to my head. His strengths are a perfect fit for the kind of team I would build. I have a clear idea of the guys I want around him. I'm very loosely working on my own playbook with these scheme fits in mind. If I'm going down, I'm going down in my own way (I hate how much like Rex that makes me sound).
