  1. He's definitely in that 1st round discussion with a good year. There's a bunch of decent QB prospects that could be top 64 picks.
  2. I absolutely despise what he did but I think he's done everything he can to make amends. I'm okay with him getting another chance at this point, just not with my team. I can't cheer for him.
  3. I heart him so much. Biggest plus is keeping his eyes downfield when he's running for his life.
  4. I'd happily let Aaron join Fred on his sofa if he wants him so much.
  5. It might have a part to play in it but I think the biggest part of the stance he's taken is beyond just his wellbeing. The guy made himself a huge target. I don't think he does that if he's selfishly motivated. He could just sneak off with his money and get baked if he wanted to.
  6. Never failed a drug test. I'm not even sure he does partake in the weed himself. I think it's more about being against prescription painkillers.
  7. Rob Ninkovich. In his 6 years as a starter for the Pats, he's been used in slightly different roles, asked to change his weight a little to suit those roles. Never moaned, just did his job and he's been quitely productive for the past 5 years (no lower than 6.5 sacks, 5 FF in 2012, 7 batted passes last year). The thinking man's meathead,
  8. I hope it's a personal choice and not one the league is forcing on him for personal stances. EDIT: @RapSheet Free agent tackle Eugene Monroe is set to retire, as @JosinaAnderson said. He'll announce his reasons today in @PlayersTribune.
  9. Welp. @JosinaAnderson Source: Free agent offensive tackle Eugene Monroe is planning to retire
  10. He's still not good. Kinda like with Wentz, the sample size was small before his senior year. 2016 is make or break for him.
  11. I'm not sure you got the memo. QBWinz is a myth.
  12. I've got a 2017 provisional roster together (this is my guesswork, don't go quoting me). Missing starters are QB, CB1, RT, WR2, P. Depth required at WR (1), TE (2), G/C (min 1), DL (2), ILB (2), OLB (1), Slot CB, FS, SS. Some of the backups might get new deals after the season that will shift numbers around. Remember, guesswork. So, that's a total of 31 players under contract at a cost of $121.25m (plus any dead money from cutting to 53 in 2016). If the cap goes up like it did last year, it might be in the $165-167m range. Giving the Bills roughly $43-45 million in cap room. We've also got 7 draft picks (plus a pending comp pick for Bradham) to account for. Around $6m seems sensible (we know Doug isn't sitting still with those).
  13. Don't apologise, it was a pretty wonderful attempt. The numbers might be a little different as the starting point but $31m is a fair assumption (I'd anticipate a little more). I think that the majority of those cuts might happen. Seymour as a gunner might make Easley expendable. Cyrus if Seantrel's health holds up, maybe SH retiring if not. I like the structure of the Gilmore deal to get the bulk of the guaranteed money out of the way early. It's not going to leave a lot for the rest but I'd rather not worry about QB/CB for a long time.
  14. Right now, it would be a lot of guesswork. We know that the Bills currently have about $134m on the books for 2017 but, as of right now, we don't know the 2017 cap figure and how much salary from 2016 they'll roll over. Of the 54 contracts that run into 2017, not all will make the cut when we cut down to a 53 man roster. It's impossible to know exact numbers without knowing who gets cut. If the 2017 cap is the same as the 2016 figure (it won't be), the Bills would currently have $21.2m in cap room for 2017 (that's with both Taylor & Gilmore not signed). The 2016 cap number went up about $12m and the bubble seems like it won't be bursting any time soon. I will try and come up with something a little more concrete when the 53 man roster gets announced.
  15. That's very true. Like with McCoy, it seems like throwing money at it was the only way to get the deal done. Although I'm not as inclined to dislike it because, unlike McCoy, I think Clay is a perfect fit for what the Bills do. There's probably only 2 tight ends that would've come cheaper that fit the criteria (Martellus Bennett - needed a trade & Jermaine Gresham - had back surgery as a free agent). We're not getting out of the Clay deal until after 2018. I just hope that knee isn't as bad as some have speculated and he stays healthy enough to be productive. We're also still paying Chris Williams $1.75m this year. Without sounding like Comic Book Guy; WORST. CONTRACT. EVER!
  16. It would be a godsend if Dez showed flashes of being a capable 2/3 this year. If Henderson or Kouandjio really shines in TC and preseason and unseats Mills. Even if guys like Justin Zimmer or Cedric Reed could show a little bit of promise on the DL. Bills fans are starting to face up to the reality that comes with a viable QB. That reality is that you will have holes and you have to fill them as cheaply (but effectively) as possible.
  17. In the next draft, Whaley probably needs a starting WR, a starting RT and pass rush depth (at the very least). Maybe CB if Gilmore can't get done. The sort of positions that are salary-heavy on the open market.
  18. Appreciate the kind words. I'm not the most cap-savvy guy but I hope I got my points across. If it does come down to choosing one or the other, I agree that QB has to be the priority (provided Tyrod doesn't regress). From what I can tell at this point, I think there's enough room for both of them if you structure the deals right (Gilmore front-loaded, Tyrod back-loaded). That won't leave much spending money for new players in FA but we won't have to worry about several cornerstone positions for a long time (QB, LT, DT, DE/OLB, CB all under long term deals). Sammy would be the next one and that's where it starts to get tricky (and where we start cursing that McCoy deal being so guarantee-heavy). Once you've got a QB taking up that much cap, it's imperative you draft well.
  19. I think Kalis might actually fit better at RT like he was recruited to play (and Erik Magnuson needs to kick in to guard). Chad Wheeler (USC) is my senior OT1 (provided that he's not a complete loony bin candidate). Elflein is my IOL1 and I'm pretty sure he's not being surpassed.
  20. Yeah, it's just a case of being more patient. I can appreciate being eager but he's good enough to win without always beating his man to the punch. I especially enjoy him pulling, looks really good on the move. Just avoid the VT game. They had him playing RT for half the game, that was ugly.
  21. I would settle for an improvement on 2015. I feel like a realist now. Thanks Elliot.
  22. Not watched him yet (focus is on seniors) but I like any bio that includes former HS wrestler. If Miller really bombs in 2016, this thread will be 100% just me shouting for Danny Isidora from the rooftops. Dude is a stud. EDIT: If you're glutton for punishment, DraftBreakdown put up a buttload (technical term) more videos of Chad Kelly. Up to 10 now. http://draftbreakdown.com/players/chad-kelly/
  23. I love me some Land Sharks. They seem to produce well coached and fundamentally sound DB's every year. Mike Hilton was my favourite. Scrappy little bastard.
  24. I think the feeling across the board is that Rex won't let Gilmore hit the open market. I'm a little unsure about linebacker being that big a need (think safety is a bigger need myself). Starting 4 is pretty much in place for 2-3 years, just needs a ton of depth.
  25. It's one of those signings that will be completely judged by hindsight. It'll be good or bad depending on how durable he is. For the Fins, I actually like the signing. I thought they were idiots for letting Miller go but their backfield is nicely balanced if they stay healthy.
