  1. I was being critical of Mills, not Kromer. Aaron Kromer isn't my kind of human being but there's no doubting his credentials.
  2. I guess the truth does hurt.
  3. I gave him credit yesterday for seemingly taking things seriously. Absolutely moronic.
  4. And yet, he can't polish the turd that is Jordan Mills.
  5. Colt Anderson is taking his ST reps away too. I'll post my full thoughts here later. I've got a provisional 1.700 words on the game waiting to get published. No shock that Bryson Albright gets a mention!
  6. Jonathan Meeks is hawt garbage. You can hear the cogs whirring as he remembers that he's the last man in coverage. Also missed the tackle that sprung Rainey.
  7. Cyrus still has the odd lapse where he forgets that he's got arms but his technique is much better than last year. He's behind where I hoped he'd be at this point but he's at a sufficient level to contribute to the roster. I'll take it and hope he can continue to show progress.
  8. The opticians keep telling me I need stronger lenses.
  9. Roberto Aguayo struggling. If only some handsome Englishman told everyone he wasn't the best kicker in the draft.
  10. I was stuck with the Giants broadcast so I put the Bills radio broadcast on. A little out of sync but not by much. Murphy and Kelso aren't a bad duo at all. Helped me out no end. I was on duty for Bills Wire tonight and I watched part of that game vicariously through them in my ears. Would listen again.
  11. Hahahahahahahaha. Bye.
  12. If you can follow along online. we'll have a live blog for the game at http://billswire.usatoday.com Got to give the site a plug
  13. I've been playing around with the one from FantasyPros - http://draftwizard.fantasypros.com/simulator/?sport=nfl I've looked at the Zero RB stuff but I can't stop getting googly eyed with Zeke, Gurley and Miller. Been a couple weeks and Zeke's ADP is now 79?!!!! Maybe those allegations carry some real weight.
  14. I'm not just a pretty face. If this happens, I'm printing this and getting it on a t-shirt.
  15. There's one outside bet that's tempting me (honestly might put £5 on it now). Detroit. They're pass heavy and I think they want Abdullah to be their RB for the next few years (and would probably prefer him to be off KR duties). Theo Riddick got 80 catches last year and he's a UFA after this season. Their GM is Bob Quinn, a former Pats front office guy. He's been educated in an empire that lets certain role players go when their price escalates. A decent receiving RB is getting $4-5m on the open market and a mid 1st pick would be about $3m/year. That's my wildcard and I kinda like it.
  16. This thread needs a little humour. https://twitter.com/spitty22/status/766847769873035264
  17. I really do appreciate the kind words. Having somewhere to bounce ideas around year-round with intelligent people is so much fun for me. Looking at recent history with these receiving backs - Gio Bernard; LaMichael James; Shane Vereen - 2nd round Duke Johnson; David Johnson; Jet McKinnon - 3rd round Some time on Day 2 seems like the sweet spot for his skill set. I think he's at least on par with Duke and I had a 2nd round grade on him. Hard for me to take him in the 1st but I won't fault anyone for falling in love with him.
  18. I agree that he's better as a runner than your typical receiving back. He's shifty, effortless cuts, patience and vision are good. I just don't want him smashing it up the middle. There's "safer" ways of getting him touches out in space. Use that dynamism isolated on a linebacker and it's a win every time. It's tough to make comparisons when so few exist. He's definitely of that type but he's unique at the same time. He's exciting to watch and I couldn't fault him being an early pick. Just as long as they don't make the mistakes that the Rams did with Tavon Austin. He wins in multiple ways, just let him go and be great.
  19. Different body types but he could be a Darren Sproles type of player. Matchup nightmare and dynamic role player. Just looking at Sproles' career stats make me appreciate just how versatile that guy has been. Such a outlier and yet so productive.
  20. Absolutely. It's why I've liked guys like Devin Funchess and De'Runnya Wilson. Not players for every occasion but they have an intuitive feel for dealing with contact and placing their bodies between the ball and the defender. Anderson's concentration and hand/eye coordination are off the charts. He's built for sustainable drives, something the Bills struggled with so much last year.
  21. Spent a bit of time checking out some of the RB class. Today, I've got to Christian McCaffrey. He can contribute as a runner, receiver, on pass protection assignments, KR and PR. I don't want him as a workhorse back though. Struggling with how much value to assign to a guy that's, for all intents and purposes, a manufactured touch player. I think he can have the same kind of impact David Johnson had in Arizona last year. One big thing I'll be watching; will he get the Derrick Henry "too much tread off the tires" treatment? Henry in 2015 had 406 touches, McCaffrey had 434. I'd anticipate Stanford using him heavily this year too.
  22. He did indeed. Just from the NFL.com draft tracker, he was one of 11 WR's that went undrafted that I had a draftable grade on. Some teams wanted him to play corner.
  23. Dak was a guy with his best football in front of him as a prospect. Consistent and sustained development in college. It's probably helping him with fairly vanilla defensive gameplans though. If one person thinks they should bench Romo for him, they're mad.
  24. I hear that Robby Anderson went off last night for the Jets. I know "it's only preseason" but talent cannot be subdued for long. Him and Enunwa as backup options bode well for Fitz.
