Chargers finally sign Bosa: Who blinked?
Blokestradamus replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Chargers are being morons. They knew really early in the process that Bosa was the guy. How can this still be an issue 5 months after you decided you'd take the guy? Quibbling over offset language and losing their 3rd overall pick as a result would be monumentally stupid. -
Spotrac Looks at 100+ Bubble Boys
Blokestradamus replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Phil Loadholt retired. Kind of a glaring error. Names that would pique my curiousity: WR Brandon Coleman WR Jeremy Kerley DT Terrance Knighton (Pot Roast might have a little more oomph than Casey Walker at NT while Marcell is out) Outside of those guys, not a great deal there. More intrigued by young guys for the PS. -
Everyday expressions that "make your blood boil"

Take it as consent and find an explosive element to blow their mind. -
I understand the principle (especially with the issue of gameday rosters) but I don't particularly agree with it. Center is a specialist position and I'm fine with my backup 3 OL being swing T, swing G and a specialist backup C. I think teams lose so much without a specialist C, like when the Bills have had Urbik playing C. If you have a backup IOL that can play C, that's ideal. I'm starting to feel okay with Ryan Groy there after the past couple of weeks. Just wouldn't hate another C replacing Velasco.

Is Cyrus Kouandjio Still a Bust?
Blokestradamus replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm guessing some people know who Tim Henman is. Former six-time semi-finalist in tennis Grand Slams and a Silver medalist at the Atlanta Olympics. He used to get so much stick from fans and press alike because he only made semi-finals and only made it as high as #4 in the world (in an era with Agassi & Sampras). In a male population of 3 billion plus, being the 4th best at something isn't that bad. -
The concussion part is true. I'm not sure about if that's had an effect on his behaviour but I don't remember him being that prickly at FSU. If he was, I probably would've liked him more.

2017 NFL Mock Drafts & Top Prospects
Blokestradamus replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
There's nagging issues there for me. When he has zero safety help, he HAS to dictate an outside release. Can be a little grabby at the catch point too. He's quick, he's sticky, long enough, can locate and has ball skills. His coaches have spoke about his play coming along as his confidence does. Senior year, everything riding on it, being "the man" now that Mac has left. It could be spectacular. -
Four concussions in and already exhibiting behavioural issues possibly stemming from them. Nope.

I'm currently watching some corners for Cover1. You know, emergency measures if Gilmore buggers off. Spoiler alert - Cordrea Tankersley is a bit good. -

I'm just glad that the "Glenn should be a left guard because someone said it four years ago" thing has died. -
2017 NFL Mock Drafts & Top Prospects
Blokestradamus replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
Well, we definitely have Dareus, Williams, Washington & Worthy (provided he makes the 53) under contract next year. Kyle could be a cap casualty depending on this year. We could be one stupid mistake from Marcell away from looking down the barrel of a gun. Wouldn't say in the 1st but somewhere on Day 2, it might be prudent to add to the depth. On paper, there's a lot of decent options. -

Just looking through the Watch List, few small school guys that are definitely worthy. RB Tarik Cohen - North Carolina A&T LB Nick DeLuca - NDSU WR Cooper Kupp - Eastern Washington TE Phazahn Odom - Fordham (6'8", 245) LB Connor Harris - Lindenwood (D2) Mason Schreck of Buffalo made the list too. -

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. It's here! http://www.seniorbowl.com/watch-list-profiles.php And within minutes, the watch list lost a man. @jaypo1961 10m Bad news for #Badgers and their fans: Senior Dan Voltz (knee) has been forced to quit football. -
Crossman likes to mix it up. I don't care for him doing it but that's his thing. Gay could be a consistent 80% touchback guy (not accounting for atmospheric hinderences) but, because of his hangtime, Crossman gets him to kick short and high for the coverage unit. Since the 2011 rule change, Carpenter's average yardage gained on returned kicks is around 24 yards (very rough maths in my head) with his TB% getting steadily worse. In the past 2 years, Jordan Gay's 18.3 yards (16.7 in 2015). For a team that's going to rely on defense, those 5-6 yards per return could be massive for field position. This from ESPN on return yardage on kickoffs puts the Bills best in the league - http://www.espn.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/returning/sort/yardsPerKickReturn/position/defense I'm not saying having a kickoff specialist is the best use of resources but Jordan Gay is a net asset for this team. Hate the principle but appreciate the player responsible is all I ask.

The Bills ranked 23rd in TB percentage. Jordan Gay's stats alone would've ranked 15th. Dan Carpenter and Billy Cundiff had 7 kickoffs between them, all returns. Just for clarification.

2nd Round Kicker Consults Mental Coach
Blokestradamus replied to KellyToTasker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bucs put so much pressure on him by taking him when they did. Every miss is going to be met with howls of derision. The chances of him being able to perform well enough that the team can think they're getting a good ROI are next to zero. I hope he can settle down and have a good career. The Bucs also need to be aware that this is a monster they created, they had better support him. -
Foul ball hits young fan, player criticizes team
Blokestradamus replied to Beerball's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I think the bigger issue is how many people at sporting events are on their phones and generally not paying attention. -
I'm the president of the Albright fan club and even I'd rather see him get a redshirt year on the PS to add weight and refine technique. The problem is that outside of Jerry, we've got almost nothing in terms of pass rush. Lawson, Biermann, Alexander are different versions of the same guy when it comes to pressure. Useful in their given roles but if Shaq misses 8 games, I think they'd get 3-4 sacks between them in relief. Bryson is a spark plug and he's all action. If there's no solid option available after rosters get cut down, I'm carrying him as a wild card. If it's a direct fight between him and Striker, give me the NFL frame. Albright's biggest knock is his weight but his play strength isn't terrible.

Who hurt and who helped.... Pre-season game 2
Blokestradamus replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And there was a huge missed block by someone that took him back 7 yards. Not sure if Woods was supposed to crack down on Thompson, if Felton was, if Groy pulling had him or Darian just made a great play.
