  1. I'm not a 'clean house' type of guy. I'd definitely keep people around that are a net asset. I wouldn't be looking to replace him as a matter of urgency, that's for sure. It's really difficult to come up with candidates when so little is known about most of them. I've kept my eye on the guys Hatman has mentioned, I figure that it's likely smart to look at the better teams. It's why I'm very open to the idea of anyone from the Patriots.
  2. Not sure DeCosta would leave Baltimore. I think he's said as much before. I'd definitely try and tempt him in the knowledge that plan B is probably needed. Do you know much about Rob Hanrahan? He's our Director of Pro Personnel (literally didn't know that until now), I think his department has done a solid job with acquisitions. Maybe not GM but possibly an assistant GM role might be a decent reward for him.
  3. In case anyone is wondering, Dan Hatman is a former NFL scout. He's in the know with this stuff. Looking at the list, would you go for a DeCosta type or would you swing for the fences? I've heard many good things about Alonzo Highsmith, I'd be tempted to give him a shot, at least give him a chance to blow me away.
  4. Live and die by your own philosophies. You're the owners, nobody can sack you. You're also in a revenue sharing, relegation-free league. The only consequence of getting it wrong is losing.
  5. Not every bit of confusion led to a big play but they were there. That's the point about the pass rush, it helps to cover up some mistakes. You don't get burned for big plays deep if the QB has 2.5 seconds before his teeth come loose. From looking at the All-22, I saw quite a few miscommunications. I did something in more detail on the other message board in defense of Stephon Gilmore because people thought he !@#$ed up when it was actually Cover-2 and the safety was late picking it up.
  6. Completely different positions. All I know is that Cyrus is a better LT now than he has been at RT. It still all comes down to that knee. If he can't get the same purchase in his post leg, he's going to struggle. At LT, it affects his kick slide but his length helps to counter outside speed and he has a better chance dealing with inside moves with the strong post leg. He may be LT-only and, long term, that's not good for the Bills.
  7. I take it you're talking about safety discipline in Schwartz's Cover-2 heavy D. There were plenty of issues in the secondary that year. Corners unsure when to pass off the vertical routes, safeties unsure when to bracket over the top. Having a mean arse pass rush certainly helped though.
  8. Someone hasn't seen the last few Polian drafts, I see.
  9. The front 7 handled the run really well but it seems that Rex wants to have that force defender rolled down in the box quite a bit. Problem is, none of our safeties have the range to play single-high. Going to be real interesting with Arians & Co. next weekend.
  10. Hard to imagine these words coming out of my mouth but.........Jordan Mills hasn't been bad enough to warrant demoting him at this point. If that changes by the time Glenn returns, it'll be interesting to see what happens with Cyrus. Some guys are just better moving one way than the other, not as simple as merely flipping him.
  11. I'm not a big fan of Aaron but I think Corey Graham is a far bigger problem. Same issues plague him, only now he's last line of defense with his slow eyes.
  12. All comes down to that knee. He's definitely anchoring better playing LT than he did RT. Hard to tell if that's a comfort thing with the knee or improved technique though.
  13. I wasn't trying to but it's definitely an added bonus I think it's safe to say that the Pegula's honeymoon period is well and truly over. Terry is good friends with Robert Kraft, I'm not sure he'd help a rival but he should be asking for advice on which opinions he should trust within NFL circles.
  14. 16th January 2017 - BREAKING NEWS: Buffalo Bills appoint Joe Philbin as new Head Coach.
  15. Just think, a QB room with AK and 12-Gauge. What could possibly go wrong?
  16. Definitely looked like Darby was expecting Duke to be there. Highly doubt he allows the easy release inside otherwise. Duke stepped up with the run fake, left the end zone wide open.
  17. If Malik McDowell isn't contained by that ND interior OL, could be a long day for the kid.
  18. I heart him but I have a horrible feeling he's going to fall short of a few NFL thresholds. Height and hand size, primarily.
  19. Rex sent 3 and 4 man rushes half the time in passing situations and had the safeties rolled down in the box a lot. Gilmore and Darby were expected to cover 1-on-1 for an eternity, waiting for a pass rush to help that never came. When they did eventually give safety help, Corey Graham bit so hard on a play fake that Robey-Coleman was lucky he didn't give up a TD to Decker. Aaron Williams, Duke Williams and Jonathan Meeks all saw coverage snaps and were all a second late picking up routes. Yes, Gilmore was bad. Darby was up and down. Rex/Rob/Thurman, whoever is in charge was worse. If Roman deserved to be fired, so did the moron that came up with that.
  20. Rex happened. Everyone with All-22 access needs to watch it, as stomach-churning as it was.
  21. To me, it looks like Zach got there first. Preston got the credit but I'm not sure he forced it out.
  22. I maintain that you could make Corey Graham walk into traffic by enticing him with a shiny piece of tin foil. Eye discipline is abysmal.
  23. That awkward moment when you have a go at short corners and Nickell Robey-Coleman played pretty damn well.
  24. The argument is about how sustainable and repetitive the deep balls and backyard football YOLO balls are and how he operates when they're not there. It's an asset for Tyrod but he has so much trouble keeping the team in rhythm when they're not there.
  25. Through the first half of All-22. A tale of two defenses. Run D - superb. Pass defense - atrocious. For a guy that's not a natural 0/1-Tech, Corbin Bryant has been PHENOMENAL so far.
