2017 NFL Mock Drafts & Top Prospects
Blokestradamus replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
I really like Sefo, injuries were the only thing that worried me. I watched him against Colorado St in Week 1 and, minus the goal line fumble, I thought he was superb. I think he's probably the best play action passer in the class. Gorgeous deep ball. If he can stay healthy, he's got a case for overtaking the likes of Falk/Kelly. EDIT - That placement - https://vine.co/v/5nrJQAKPKqW -

#BadForChad and #KollapseForKizer are my favourites but that's not bad -
I'm the only person in the world that hasn't seen Jackson play yet. I had heard that his receivers dropped a lot vs. Syracuse so that'll explain the low completion %. Naturally wary of guys that run that much, good thing is he's got 18 months to develop his passing game.

One of the film breakdown guys (Erik or YPP, can't remember) said that opposition coaches have actively worked on taking away the Bills pin and pull run blocking. That would be the result of offseason tendency scouting. There is merit to Bobby's idea too, no linebacker cares about what's behind them and will sell out on the run if they know the QB won't make them pay for it.

Roman almost Kapernicked Tyrod!
Blokestradamus replied to Jobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's a fine line with athletic ability. Having it is a huge plus but it has to be a part of the recipe, not the whole meal. You've seen guys like Rodgers, Wilson & Luck that can use their legs to buy time but it's normally run to set up the pass. Taking it away from Tyrod is foolish but he also has to earn the respect of the league for his passing before they commit to stopping him through the air alone (which makes him more dangerous as a runner). -
Personal favourite is Baker Mayfield but I know deep down that he's not a Whaley QB if Doug stays. Mayfield falls short in areas that Doug likes. I wouldn't mind Watson, I think he's a solid prospect. Kaaya is probably a low-end starter. Mental acumen is there but consistency needs to occur, arm isn't strong enough to get away with being sloppy. Kizer is way off where he needs to be but experience this year might accelerate growth. So much depends on who the OC or HC is.

I got banned after the 2015 draft for reminding people that Karlos hit his ex-girlfriend. Apparently that was slander, two days after someone quite literally proposing that La'el Collins contracted an assassin to kill his ex. He's a Day 3 guy for me but I don't over-value quarterbacks. I call them as I see them. The NFL is typically horrendous when it comes to quarterbacks. By rights, he's both UDFA quality and a 1st rounder, depending on the principle you use.

Benjamin Allbright said that Kelly is getting late Day 3/UDFA grades from scouts he knows.

Mike Rodak is an idiot

I also saw a plethora of mouth breathers responding to it. Some act like he has to be a Bills fan to write about them. Mike's hilarious and so many fall for it. -
Favorite Moment as a Bills Fan
Blokestradamus replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly, Mario Watch was probably the first moment that I realised that this awful team had consumed me. It felt like a landscape change for the team, a priority FA actually wanted to be in Buffalo. I've not been a fan long enough to have too many memorable on-field moments. Maybe the Pats game with the Florence INT or beating GB a couple of years ago. -

Just went through Kizer's first 3 games of the year. He's a talented kid but he's nowhere near ready to declare right now. Biggest issue is his feet, just so inconsistent. Root cause of his accuracy issues, same as with Wentz and Lynch last year. Good arm, not great. Can throw the effort ball but he falls away a bit doing so. In the pocket, he's gutsy and willing to take a shot to buy time for a receiver. Over the course of 3 games, he's getting better at taking what's there with short passes and checkdowns. A lot of the mental side just needs experience. Can throw with anticipation, needs to learn when to force it and when to use touch. Shown he can do both but the consistency of his decision making is missing. Right now, he's my QB5 behind Mayfield, Watson, Kaaya & Mahomes. Equates to a 3rd round grade. -
My fantasy bench had Corey Coleman, Quincy Enunwa and Vance McDonald on it. Thankfully only need 9 points tonight from JMatt for 2-0.

Is Gilmore really worth the money?

Because it was one game. I don't know the reasons behind it. If it's a trend that continues, I'll reconsider my position. For now, Thursday was an aberration. -

For the first 4 years, he has. I know it's popular to **** on him but he's a damn good corner. The idea is to neutralise the opponent, he's proven that he can do that on many occasions. If you're asking me to defend Thursday night, not a chance. I've ripped into him when I wrote the game up, I called him sloppy and lazy. That doesn't change the player he is though. -

Okay. 55 career games. 51 pass defenses, 9 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery. That's more than one meaningful notch in the box score per game. If you take a look at how he's covered in his first 4 seasons, you'll also know there's numerous occasions per game where he ties a man up to take away an easy target. -

Classify 'big plays' for me. If you're taking the interception angle, don't. There's more to corner play than picks. -

I don't think that one awful game (one that I think the game plan had a major role in) is necessarily a sign of regression. I think you need a bigger sample size to call it that. If you want to talk injuries, that's fair. I think he represents injury potential with his tackle technique but that can be taught. I just think that if Buffalo stays a man cover team, he's an asset that would be difficult to replace. -

Would you care to expand on why? -
He's beatable and I think the fear factor has gone with him. Defensive coordinators aren't scared to bring it and challenge him. I do think that some blame lies with Ryan Grigson, hasn't protected him enough. I think he's probably a little too proud at times as well, fails to protect himself.

Bottom 3 when they picked Dareus so more than likely. -

Absolutely. You let him play the year out, the tag is in play for 2017. I think Darby can be a bit more scheme-versatile, no point in tying up Gilmore and hamstringing your future DC/HC options. -
The idea is that they give you protection. Neutral is a win for the OL. That Seahawks OL can't manage neutral plays that often.

Yes. You don't judge him solely on that game. You judge him on his entire body of work. The career is worth top dollar pay.
