  1. It’s been over 30 years now, but I miss the mid-afternoon (eastern time zone) super bowl starts. They used to kickoff at 2:30 or 3pm
Sunday night games with extended halftime shows go until almost 11pm and we still have to work in the morning. Lousy time for a party for us folks in the east.
If it’s got to be a prime time game, I wish it could be Saturday, but I know that will never happen.

Interesting to hear a person with no skin in the game talk about it being emotional.   I found it very emotional and I am still not over it.

On a different personal note…since this is referencing a guy who produced the game…I find myself frustrated with prime time production of nfl games.   Too many shots of non football related stuff.   I want to see the field and what’s going on there!   Not fans.   Not the coaches.  Not the other teams QB when we have the ball or our QB when they have the ball.    Take your collective heads out of your arses and produce a football game.   Not another dumb tv drama!

That is all.   I go now into the off-season angry and bitter.

    Go Bills!

To your point, there was a play (can’t remember which one) that I really wanted to see the replay. But they already had all these graphics and stats cued up comparing past QBs or games. I don’t care! Can we focus on the game we’re watching?-please!

I want to see the alignments and other pre-snap activity and too often, the broadcast is showing something else and only cuts to live action barely in time to see the ball snapped.

I’ll just say I watch all the player interviews and I see a big difference in how he answers questions versus most of the other Team leaders…

Maybe. But sometimes shyness or general discomfort in from of the cameras and press could easily be misconstrued as lacking intelligence.  For whatever reason, the people who make personnel decisions have a lot of faith in him - at least that's the public face. How they handle future contract or trade offers will tell the true tale.

after several of his interviews smart isn’t one of the things that come to mind. That may be the issue.

I don't know about his smarts or lack of. My presumption is based on his role as defensive QB.  Maybe he's given that role because he's dead center in the defensive alignment and is in the best position to communicate assignments coming to him through the helmet radio.

  5. What are you talking about? He made that one really nice hit and tackle. Extend him by all means.

Even my wife, who has limited knowledge or the game, asked why # 49 looks like he's not running hard to the ball carrier.  I'm usually in agreement with the Tasker & Co on the various WGR shows that discuss Bills' football, but they continue to praise the merits of Edmunds.  IMO, he doesn't pass the eye test.  He gets blocked out of plays, takes bad angles, and often looks like he's scared to put his shoulder down and make the hit.

Opposing teams know they can run right at him and get positive yards.

He is great at being near by when another Bills defender makes the tackle. More often that not he's standing right there or jumping on top of the pile.

The argument is that his length clogs passing lanes. So what is he, a glorified DB?  Hell, sign Manute Bol to make like a windmill.

I've stated this before: His true value could be tested in the trade market (though his contract may prevent such a move).  He was the 17th overall pick in 2018. He's still very young, but has 4 years of experience.  Are there any teams that would trade a first round pick for Edmunds? Highly unlikely, but if offered, the Bills should jump on it before the potential trade partner has a chance to review all his game film.

BTW - I believe Edmunds is smart and probably a great teammate.  It's his toughness that appears to be lacking.

On the plus side - there should be no doubt that the Bills got the best QB in the 2018 draft.

Like any player, Josh has had a few off games, but he continues to get better and better. He's reading defenses like a vet should. He's seeing the whole field. His accuracy has improved 100%. He's become the undisputed leader of the team and the chemistry and friendships are reminiscent of the ones from  90's teams.

Some of his stats have been skewed by the horrible weather conditions the Bills have endured in 2021.  He's quickly become one of the elite QBs in the NFL and we should be so thankful he's on the Bills and under contract for several more years.

Well they gotta pay for all those stimulus's somehow 😅. They're actually going after venmo too. Starting this year, venmo transactions have to be reported to the irs. You can't expect the government to let money move without them getting a piece 🙄

Yeah, even though income tax has already been collected from the earnings of the original buyer.
After buying a ticket, he could then become a seller, trading the ticket for the same cost. In effect, he’d have no more money than he started with, no ticket, but would somehow pay tax twice on the same money.
Hypothetically , a ticket could be sold and re-sold 10 times (or more) and Uncle Sam would have his hand out for a piece of each transaction. It’s like buying a car and there’s supposed to be sales tax for every transfer of ownership when funds are involved.
I’ve never understood how this is fair.
The secondary market is getting less attractive and riskier.

I wasn't worried & really truly don't care it was a question . I no longer live there & don't pay for any thing NY in my taxes so it will be on you & the rest of the NY tax payers & it's apparent you don't care so then ya'll can pay for it .

But if i was there i ain't that proud that i would & haven't gone dumpster diving before one mans just is another mans treasure .

Not trying to break balls. I haven’t lived there in 35 years, so I don’t pay NY taxes.  There’s a ‘think small’ mentality that’s pervasive among the simple hard-working blue collar folks who reside in places like Buffalo. They’re thrifty and value the dollar, so it’s not surprising someone would think about re-using materials. I’m not knocking it. It’s commendable. But do you think people like Jerry Jones ever think for a second about preserving something from an out of date facility?  When they calculate costs and consider contractor bids, no one is thinking, ‘gee, couldn’t we save a few hundred thousand by taking something from the old place’.
    Go Bills!!

Didn't they just recently as a year ago or so spend something like $3 MILLION on renovations ? That is more of what i am talking about not old piss troughs thats just ignorant !!

In that $3 million reno was there some brand new state of the art video equipment that could be utilized in the new stadium Oh & i do believe that they did put up a brand new state of the art video screen at one end of the field hey maybe some of the brand new 70" big screen TV's in some of the bars in the Jim Kelly section .

Those types of things not piss troughs from Rich stadium really come on man ...

To you and me, 3 million is a nice chunk of change. For the high rollers like the Pegulas, 3 million is a drop of rain in the ocean. They waste more than that in dead cap money in any given year. If they get 4-5 years out of that 3 mil video gear, they’re fine with it. They got their use out of it.
    It’s a write-off!

Wait until 2027 and go dumpster diving at One Bills Drive if you’re worried about wasting the equipment.

With all the talk of a new stadium coming to OP in the not to distant future and all that comes with it i was wondering a couple of things about the build .

I watched a piece on Buffalo Bills .com that showed the room that controls the big screens at the field now & seeing the recent renovations at the stadium was wondering if any of that newer equipment might be taken from the old stadium & used in the new one to off set some of the pricing of the new build or will they just junk that & go with all brand new in the box stuff ?

I know that the things that have been there for the entirety or the life of the stadium will be tossed but i would think that there may be some things that could do the same job especially if it is newer equipment but knowing how today's world works with tech changing so fast i'm not real sure if it will be used.

The stadium now has the 2 big screens at the one end of the field and they were recently upgraded couldn't they be used ? Then there may be some of the vendors equipment that if not very old that could be moved to the new stadium like the lights that keep food warm & such .

Then there are things like the goal posts & other stuff used to put on the on field presentation and the benches with the helmet warmers & all that kind of stuff .

I know there will be those that say that this is a brand new stadium & would want all brand new gear to go with it but was just wondering if this is even a consideration at all to possibly curb a small amount of the over all cost rather than just demoing the entire thing & putting it in a land fill ...

This sounds so Buffalo. Let’s be thrifty and repurpose our old crap!! It still has a few good years.

when they build a new stadium, they’re not going to re-use old video screens and piss troughs from Rich Stadium days.

anything that can be re-used will likely be auctioned off or donated for future use by a small college or high school. And they’ll probably have to uninstall, transport, and re-install at their own expense before the stadium is imploded.

You are right, I pulled this from the other thread.

4-2: White jersey  -  White pants  -  Losses to Pittsburgh and Tampa            - Notable wins over NE 2.0 and KC

0-2: White jersey  -  Blue pants     -  Loses to Tennessee and Jacksonville   - No wins

1-0: Blue jersey     -  Blue pants     -  No loses                                                   - Win over New Orleans

6-2: Blue jersey     -  White pants   - Loses to Indy and New England             - Blow outs over NYJ, Houston, and Miami 1.0

1-0: Red jersey      -  Red pants      -  No loses                                                   - Win over Carolina

Bills are 4-4 in white jerseys and 8-2 in Blue/Red.

    0-0  white jersey, red pants

    0-0  red pants, white jersey

    0-0  no pants, no jersey

0-0 Sabre's banana slug sweater, boxer shorts

Obviously, there's a science behind this. Hmmm

All kidding aside, I can't help but wonder if superstition has crept into the heads of the Bills. No white over blue pants since the embarrassment in Jacksonville. May be the last we see of that combo.

.....and politics.  So pass.  I'd rather hear what TBD posters have to say when it comes to football.  Cavett was good.

The current breed of late night hosts, SNL cast, TV show reboots, and their writers have alienated half of their potential American audience by over-politicizing content.  They naively expect all viewers to nod in agreement with cheap shots and misguided attacks on those who lean right of center.

Worst of all...they're attempts at most of their comedy falls flat. They're not funny.

Okay I will say it here, as people seem to not be concerned, I am about the defense vs. elite QB's.  Yes the Bills annihilated the Pats, but NE moved the ball, again converted too many 3rd downs & when not were 4-4 on 4th.

This week is Mahomes & not Jones.

Are the Chiefs undefeated?  They can be beaten. Not concerned.

Yes, they need to contain Mahomes and stuff the run. On the other hand, the Chiefs will (should) have their hands full with the Bills QB/Receivers and newly energized running game that utilizes size and strength.

I believe it's all going to come down to playing smart, not taking needless penalties, and staying focused. The Bills are coming into this game with a full head of steam and have played nearly flawless football since halftime in Tampa.

Pants puppet?  I like that. I'm sure I'll find a family gathering or some equally inappropriate situation to use that euphemism.

The video edit was brilliant at the 45 second mark where they showed Kelly lofting a TD pass to Metzelaars (# 88) in the right corner of the end zone, followed immediately by a nearly identical positioning of QB and receiver from the Pats blowout when Allen threw the first of 5 to Knox (# 88) in the right corner of the end zone. Nice touch!

Just sort of spit-balling here and thinking about the worst QB rooms in the league right now/this offseason:

    • Cleveland - Highly doubtful
    • Pittsburgh - Won't rule it out, but my guess would be that they'll pursue an established starter
    • Houston - Probably just roll with Davis Mills next year
    • Denver - Same deal as Pittsburgh
    • Giants - Don't really see the point in moving on from Jones to Trubisky
    • Washington - More possible now after Heinicke's late season collapse. Would be sad but not entirely surprising for them if their inaugural season with a new brand is anchored by Trubisky as their starting QB.
    • Carolina - No clue what they might do after they tried to make win-now moves this year and completely collapsed
    • New Orleans - Would make at least some sense

All in all, there's maybe 5 situations that at least kinda make sense and a couple of them may just go for a rookie instead. He might be able to go somewhere and keep the seat warm for a rookie like Tyrod has done the last few years, but not sure if he'd rather go for that vs. sitting behind Allen with a good situation if anything goes wrong for Allen.

Good list, though I could probably eliminate 2 or 3.

Pittsburgh may be the most attractive team for Trubisky if they show interest. They'll have QB vacancy and cap room, and with only a mid to late 1st round draft pick in a weak QB draft, will probably not look to the draft for an immediate starter. Historically solid organization with winning coach and good fan base.

Another factor is DeShaun Watson.  How does he figure into it? - assuming legal issues and contract disputes don't keep him off the field. Does he end up in Miami, throwing Tua onto the QB carousel.

Depending on how everything plays out, my guess is there's a 50/50 chance Trubisky could sign another 1 year deal with the Bills.
