commitment? I have the option to cancel Directv at any time without further obligation. If I lived alone and only needed one or two TVs, I might be content with over the air and the numerous streaming options, but as I stated in earlier post, DTV has several features that appeal to me and work well multiple rooms and with our family's viewing habits. As far as cost goes, just wait until all the streaming services have you thoroughly hooked - guarantee you'll see more advertising and escalating monthly fees. I can't believe Netflix is still commercial-free. It's only a matter of time before we start getting regular interruptions for ads. Remember when there weren't ads on Youtube? Then there was only a quick/short one. Now, there are often 2 or 3 before you can get to the content you're accessing. We are marketed to death!

Maybe Brady, like Rodgers and Favre just has great passion for the game and doesn’t want it to end. What’s your passion? Imagine if you were a musician, golfer, painter, etc., early 40’s, in great health, but you knew that you could no longer participate, you might try to prolong it until it was completely unreasonable to continue.

Big and athletic- so, when healthy, daily work on the jugs, learn a few seam routes, then turn him into the oversized lumbering TE that creates mismatches and moves the chains. 😉 I’m only half kidding.

Why isn't Frazier interviewing for Head Coaching positions?
SoMAn replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
Or, promote from within as they did with Dorsey. I have absolutely zero knowledge regarding the qualifications of the other defensive assistants, so that may not be a viable option. I would hope that part of the hiring process for assistant coaches that’s employed by McD and Beane would include having an eye on the future. i.e. hiring assistants that have the desire and potential for promotion and greater responsibility on their side of the ball. Maybe there’s a good candidate within the McDermott ‘coaching tree’. -
Why isn't Frazier interviewing for Head Coaching positions?

Why? So they can be the hot prospect who moves on in 2 years? With Frazier, we have years of valuable experience and he’s probably following McDermott’s defensive blueprint anyway. Keeping him provides stability and continuity with players who know and understand the system. The down side may be that the defense has become predictable to opponents. That may be the best argument to bring in a young defensive-minded assistant to put some fresh ideas into the scheme. -

Why would a rebuilding team hire a 64 year old ? That ship has sailed. His days as HC are over. -
Yes, I’ve had that thought. They were 20 days away from a traumatic event in which they witnessed their brother being resuscitated on the playing field. Standing along side them were a team with tiger stripes against orange helmets., It’s been reported that many of the Bills players were still experiencing psychological repercussions, and here they were, looking across the field at those same striped helmets. A lot of these players are still very young. What they saw in that first bengals game may have been the worst thing some had witnessed. Playing against the same team may well have had an effect, consciously or subconsciously.

Prior to this playoff loss, the Bills played 17 full games, losing only 3, by a combined total of 8 points. They lost to last year’s AFC champ by 17 points with missing or hobbled players on defense. There are improvements to be made, but the mindset that there needs to be a complete overhaul is an unwarranted knee jerk reaction. Be careful what you wish for. It wouldn’t take much to return to the days of 6-11 and draft talk by week 10.

We all had high expectations for the Bills this year, and now there’s all the predictable finger pointing, including the ‘fire McDermott’ camp. For perspective, look at the pre-McDermott teams that for years won 7 to 9 games annually and never sniffed the playoffs. In 6 seasons, the Bills have made the playoffs 5 times, including one season with journeyman QB Tyrod Taylor behind center. So, you want McD gone. For further perspective, examine future HOF coach Andy Reid’s history. As a head coach in Philly and KC, how many times did he miss the playoffs or lose in early rounds before getting to and winning a conference championship? The Bills somehow won 14 of 18 this season despite of a mountain of adversity. Shouldn’t McDermott get some credit for that? A few short years ago some of us would have given our eye teeth to enjoy a season with that many victories. So, you want to throw the baby out with the bath water? Who would you armchair GMs fill the coaching staff with? You’re ready to start over…again? The culture created by Beane and McDermott has produced an attractive destination for free agents. A good draft, impact signings, and a healthier 2023 might be all that’s needed to get to the promised land. Silver lining: the Bills not winning the Super Bowl saved us from a lifetime of NFL Films highlights with the radio broadcast voiceover of Chris Brown screeching “Bills win” 3 octaves higher than a normal speaking voice. 😏

That’s what it looked like- Like they were mentally spent. I don’t doubt that all the physical and emotional obstacles they’ve endured throughout the season finally caught up with them. It didn’t help that the play calling was pedestrian. I think they were simply due for a ‘let-down’ game and this was it. in some way, I’d rather it happen now than in the Super Bowl. They would have been saddled with that Bills losing super bowls stigma going forward, making it harder to get there again.

1/22/23 GAMEDAY THREAD Divisional Playoffs Bills vs. Bengals

Who is that? -
About time for another timely pick from Taron Johnson. Pick 6 perhaps?

How confident are you the Bills beat the Bengals?
SoMAn replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
Considering the number of injuries this season, the Bills are relatively healthy. Cincy is banged up. Home crowd should make it tough on Burro. Giving the edge to our boys, but they need to tighten up and eliminate stupid penalties and missed tackles. Ball control. The best defense against Burro is to keep it out of his hands. D-Line must bring their A-game. Bills 33 Been Gals 3 -
Next tee? Lol. Hold my beer…on a good day I can peg the lady duffers 3 fairways to the right with my slice on a links course.

Bills/Chiefs Atlanta - Official ROLLCALL thread

Thanks for the explanation. Somebody messed up in a BIG way. Good luck. On the plus side, should it be a Bills/Jaguars game, it’ll be a moot point. -

So, you completed the purchase transaction, but TM canceled, either deliberately or unintentionally??? Strange. Sorry it went down like that. -

How are tickets ‘clawed back’? I presume they use computers and that the software isn’t overly sophisticated and that they were the exclusive seller at 10am. I mean, there’s been computer-generated reserved seating/ticketing since the 70’s, right? -

I am fascinated by adults who fear bad mojo, bad juju, or whatever else it’s called. I’m not knocking it. It’s your right to have any phobia you want. It’s just interesting to me that in an advanced society, superstitious beliefs with zero scientific basis can be so pervasive. A lot of people will wear their ‘lucky shirt’ on Sunday. Hey, keep the good vibes cooking with that that well-worn Bills top if that’s what gives comfort! -
Is it just me or do we always let offenses convert 3rd downs on us?
SoMAn replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thanks for researching it. I’m surprised it’s that low. It seemed to melike opponents don’t usually have trouble hitting 2-pointers. -

And 2 pt conversions. I have no way to look up that stat as far as I know, but it wouldn’t surprise me if their failure rate defending 2 pt conversions is around 80%. -
Shady and Poyer talking about Hyde possibly returning this week
SoMAn replied to extrahammer's topic in The Stadium Wall
It sounded like Shady let the cat out of the bag and then realizing (oops) tried to backtrack by saying “Micah told me he might play [this week]” -
I noticed on the NBC game the images seemed much sharper. I don’t know how much of this is due to positioning of cameras in different stadiums, daylight or artificial lighting. Or just better technology. I’m frustrated that I bought a Sony 4k TV* 5 years ago and there’s almost never football in 4k. * this stupid TV needs to go through 15 minutes of multiple-try reset procedures half the time just to turn it on. Ready to put it at the curb.
