  1. These "13 seconds" that gets referenced were truly emblematic of that Bills season, not a stand alone occurrence. As such, I was never upset at those 13 seconds as it was who the Bills were last season. Actually, I remain perplexed that there were larger screw-ups that season that impacted us missing the superbowl way more than the 13 seconds that gets overlooked. Cases in point: (1) The 4th quarter 4th down play versus Pittsburgh in the season opener. Inexcusable on every level. Who calls that play? (2) The Jaguars game. The Bills showed they were not quite ready to be "the team". (3) The Colts game. An epic let down at an important part of the season, at home. Interesting that some posters assume if the Bills win in KC they go to the superbowl, well reality indicated quite convincingly that Cinncinnati would have had something to say about that. Plus, to me at least, wide right remains the "bar" of emotions that would rise to being "upset". In sum, the extent of being upset indicating your level of fandom is delusional, at best. They simply were not ready, and proved it multiple times last year. The key is, did they learn those lessons and will they apply them this year. I think they will. Go Bills.
  2. Actually, we had a significant change here with Daboll leaving. One of his limitations was in game strategy. He was not a solid game planner or in-game play caller. We upgraded by him departing; by a lot. Again, there are many examples of his horrific play calling i.e., 4th quarter 4th down Pittsburgh game comes immediately to mind. Plus the fact, we did not prioritize a true running game that matched our personnel until, what, week 15 or 16? To be clear, Daboll was an amazing play designer. No question. Elite. But play caller? He is mid-tier at best. Big difference in each skill set. Also, to preempt the over reactions, I have no clue how Dorsey will do, defacto by me stating Daboll was over rated does NOT mean I feel Dorsey is awesome, that deduction is flawed logic. Just sayin'. Randomly, the whole "13 seconds" from anything seems a bit dramatic.....we simply laid too many eggs (Pitt, Jax, Indy, Pats home game, 1st half of TB - come quickly to mind) to suggest the last 13 seconds of the KC game is what blew it for us. Sure was it emotional to watch? Absolutely. But if things were really lining up for us to make a run at a SB we would have entered the playoffs 15-2 with home field advantage and a balanced offense that did not need to rely on late game heroics by Josh Allen. Last season was a fun ride, but at the same time a bit disappointing with how many times we struggled.
  3. Thanks for the counter view; your perspective is appreciated. I do respectfully disagree, still. I feel the whole culture of the Bills is about the growth mindset and continued improvement. If we remain in the mindset of "who will replace him?", we will never improve. In that case, we should be content with our OL, particularly interior OL, because we have had success. I would suggest, if the Bills want to be the best version of themselves they evaluate assistant coaches in the same vein of the players. Sure, Daboll has grown over the years (stopped yelling at a rookie QB), but that may be due to him being assigned to the coaches box and removed from the field more than anything. I will say, if he calls games like he did last week, this resolves itself as he will have seemed to respond to the challenge of the HC to be better. Yet, if we see the playcalling from the first few weeks, and from the ending of last season, then it is fair game to look elsewhere. I am not smart enough to prognosticate on who will replace him, also because that is above my pay grade, but I would not be concerned at all to see Daboll move on from the Bills. Whether or not he is an excellent candidate to be a HC is not for me to state, what I can state that as of now he is replaceable, easily replaceable.
  4. From your keyboard to god's ears please let this happen, Daboll is fairly over rated and has not had the impact on Josh that some think he has. For sure, he is not in the top 3 impacts on Josh, likely not in the top 5, objectively not in the top 7 and arguably barely in the top 10. Daboll is an amazing play creator just not a great play caller. Big difference. The scary thing is pondering how great this offense could be with Josh at the helm and a top tier play caller and coordinator. Sure, Daboll called a good game last week but that was the first one all year. He needs to do that for 17 regular season games and multiple playoff games a year, not every few weeks which is what he has been doing.
  5. Well you are not wrong. Oliver does not get double teamed nearly as much as people here think he does, basic statistics indicate there is not a need to double team him, in fact there is zero chance any offense even considers him or thinks to plan around him. He is not big enough nor strong enough to warrant it. While some of his "statistics" on paper may suggest a decent "win rate" (sounds like a participation trophy) he is largely invisible on this defense and could be replaced easily and cheaply. Sure he will make 1 or 2 plays a game that are notable, but that is not enough for a first round top ten pick. He is currently rated around 75th for interior lineman, and we all heard "wait until Star comes back" and then he will shine. Well, I wonder when that will happen? Hopefully this week, as he is easy to like and I am all about him succeeding - I truly root for him because he is undersized and such hard worker. Really, I hope he proves all the critics wrong, but I fear this was a rather underwhelming draft pick. On the bright side, he absolutely could be worse. While he is solidly a slightly below average player, he is not a bust quite yet. And to his credit it looks like he tries a lot, he is certainly a hard worker. I feel that we have seen his ceiling and he has likely maxed out. It was funny on a thread last week someone on here said that he was a big factor on two sacks from Groot, but in replay on one of those sacks Milano then Hughes were the disruptors with Oliver having no impact and on the other Oliver was on the bench - some people have observer bias toward Oliver, and that is ok. We are all human. Maybe with McDermott calling him out, finally, it will motivate Oliver to actually produce over the course of a game? We can hope, right?
  6. This. Listen to Bills Fan of Maryland on this. As someone who took my soon to a "home" game every year since he was in 1st grade, I can attest to this. He is now 18 entering his freshman year in college and we both look back fondly on the yearly trip back for a Bills week-end. Sure, some years we could make a later flight out so he did not miss school the next day, but the majority of times we flew out the next morning and he missed school. The lack of stress in staying over was notable and lead to more positive memories. I communicated in advance with his teacher(s) and there ended up being nothing he could not either do in advance or make up upon his return. The memories are lifelong and pretty awesome. Please trust us on this. You and her will look back and have this yearly "tradition" to lean into and share widely and often.......I am excited for you, and please try to make this a yearly event. The juice is worth the squeeze. Oh, I am from the midwest so I can absolutely appreciate the flight concerns.
  7. I get the "athleticism" of Oliver, to an extent. But, he graded out pretty poorly last year and is probably stronger against the run than the pass. He just isn't big enough to finish plays on the pass rush....he was so close so many times, but simply did have the capacity/tools to finish the play. I would not put him in the top 4 pass rushers that we have on the team, particularly after the draft. Unfortunately, he may be near his ceiling as it relates to a pass rusher. Now, as a run stopper provided that Star returns and is productive I am sure Oliver will excel in that regard. Beane even admitted as much, recently, about Oliver. It seems everyone was hoping/expecting his uber athletic disposition would make up for being undersized (reach, hands, just length overall) but at least for pass rushing this has not panned out.
  8. What a painful trip down memory lane, plus sadly, lots to pick from. First, that Perry Tuttle was a future lock for the HOF (start of the Clemson curse); Second, we finally hit on a terrific HC in Mike Mularkey. This is a fun read. And confirms we have no business making NFL decisions. None.
  9. I think before this draft, that may have been a decent argument. However, I think both picks this year have higher ceilings than Oliver and will not be so dependent on "other things" to shine. Rousseau and Basham will likely have impact regardless of who lines up next to them, Oliver needs a big body next to him to shine; or so we hope.
  10. Agree 100%. In fact, and I understand I am likely an outlier on this I would explore (again, explore) trading Oliver. Too many excuses on why he underperformed last year (out of position, no Star, etc). At some point a top 10 pick needs to elevate everyone around them. It appears Oliver needs a lot of support to shine and at that we are hoping he elevates his game. If the return is right, there is no harm in trading Oliver.
  11. Currently we have, what, 15/16 DL on the roster? Clearly the math does not line up in keeping that # on the active roster. Sure there are a few that would be easy to PS or cut (i.e., Cox, Love)....yet, I also think that Johnson is safe as Beane made a point to acknowledge him in the conversation about Rousseau. I actually think Addison and/or Hughes may not make it out of camp. Addison is just not that effective. He may be a good mentor early on and in camp, but then his work would be done and it would be an easy cut. Butler also is expendable. This gets us closer to 10. I think the youth movement on the DL is actually upon us now, not two years from now. Really, if we played Basham and Rousseau how much of a drop off would it truly be from what we saw from Addison or Oliver last year, honestly? Not much, in fact it could be an upgrade. Regardless, the camp battles will be healthy and helpful to our defense moving forward.
  12. And the 2020 election interference is not a big hoax? Manufactured by Trump? Trump could not stay out of his own way, 100% of his falling is of his own doing. No help needed, he is a pro at self-imploding.
  13. To confirm, you believed this during the Trump impeachment proceedings and the investigation into Russia interfering with the 2016 election, among the other alleged improprieties by the Trump administration? You support those legal proceedings right? And would tell those on the "right" the bolded also? Good. Just so we are clear. *** also to state the "majority" of claims have gone against the trump team is a bit of an understatement, no? How about 99.99999%? And the harm is a waste of time, money, and inciting his cult followers. But I guess seeing as this is coming from real americans, that is ok? Finally, you may be surprised how many military personnel absolutely abhor trump; with the GOP needing to be mindful of their association.
  14. I wonder why you only made a comment on the poster here, but decided to question TBBills about deep reflection and a very, seemingly, genuine and noble cause to listen and perhaps question one's view point? If you spent any time on this board the last 4 years you would know that those who blindly supported, without any hesitation, trump were brutally pious and condescending at...every.....single....opportunity. Your presence would have been useful then. I am fairly confident two wrongs do not make a right, but you really should have spent time on this board or you should now go back and read the posts and post titles from the last 3 years, once you do a lot of your questions will be answered. "What about-isms", loving when "libtards" heads will explode, stuff like that got old and many people just kept quiet, took notes, and waited for Karma. Now that the tables turned, suddenly we should all be Ghandi? The blue collar axiom of "payback is a B word" should have been heeded by the trumponians who only cherished "snowflakes" being crushed by real god-fearin' 'Muricans trying to make america great again....whatever that means. I appreciate your tone, but instead of questioning posters who are expressing an equal and opposite reaction to nearly 4 years of ridiculous behavior on this board spend time on the history here; you know, those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it. Or, the next time someone on the right or a trumponian makes a broad generalization, ask them to reflect and accept that they may be wrong also. If not, it comes across as insincere. And to pre-empt, admittedly I have dropped in recently to take engage with a bully who was taking pot shots......you kick a lying dog enough you ought to expect a reaction.....getting a taste of their own medicine so to speak....very deserving. This stated, I have been wrong before and actually apologized to those that I may have wronged. It is a really liberating feeling. I am 100% sure if the majority of people on this board met each other in real life, without this forum's context, we would likely enjoy each others company and learn that we have more in common than not. Now, when will the cycle stop? Or who should be the bigger "person"? Considering the true trumponians (those who think he can do not wrong, ironcially) engaged like this for 4 years, at least give the other side one year.....then worry about being the bigger person. If the cycle remains then, of course there is an issue....but for now......if you were big enough to dole it out, you must be big enough to take it. This is life.
  15. Actually, as Biden spoke I realized I had forgotten what a coherent and articulate leader sounded like. Biden actually used sentences. Like full sentences. Plus, the adjectives....they were multiple and different. No reading off a script. I was wondering where the pugilisitic rhetoric was? Unity? What a novel concept. My lord that was refreshing to listen to; for several reasons.
  16. You have now gone from projection to displacement. And appear to be easily triggered like a snowflake. In other words, you look really "trumponian" right now. Not a good look. Big baby.
  17. In watching the McD post game locker room debriefing, you have to love Ed Oliver....right in front, excited for his teammates, etc. This stated, when re-watching the game, Oliver played pretty poorly. At least 4 missed tackles (pretty basic ones at that) and he lost many 1 on 1 with the OL, they really do not even need to double team him anymore. In fact on one of play the OL literally spun Oliver around so forcefully, Oliver's back was to the play in about one second....all with a basic punch block. That video clip is much worse than Zimmer getting plowed by 2 KC OL, which is used too much around here. At this point in the season, taking into account Oliver's draft position, salary, and experience on the team, Zimmer is completely outplaying him. No question. Any other thought is wrought with bias. Listen, I like Oliver and hope he develops.....but right now, it looks a bit dicey. Oliver, he seems like a great teammate, but to say he is playing well is simply uninformed. Plus, anytime one has to reference "statistics" like hurries and pressures, it is super revealing. DL's should be all about TFL, Tackles, Sacks, caused fumbles, etc. Hurries and pressures are weak indicators and typically do not translate to anything of merit.
  18. Deep post route, to DiMarco......oh, wait.... Given that DaBoll is OC, JA sweep right. No one can see that coming <roll eyes>
  19. Fair enough. You have your beliefs, I have mine. As it should be.
  20. Seriously, do not text and drive. That is not cool. Really....you win. If that makes you not distracted, then I am good with admitting my fault in logic and defaulting to your train of thought. This conversation is not worth risky driving. There I said it, you and your cohort here have made me do a 180 degree turn and accept that you are right and I am wrong.
  21. I am fairly confident I did not make the assertion all is well in America. Clearly, it is not. However, it is not multicultural thought that is the issue, it is separist thought or supremacy thought. Do you not agree?
  22. For all that is good, it is LOATHE. And it is YOU'RE. I feel I will tire of protecting you from yourself. I thought you were done with me? Also, the poster I was replying to was arguing that multiculturalism was the cause of current issues and events. I simply offered an alternate thought. My apologies for trying to have a discourse on this. You are right. Is this better? PS- I just noticed, I believe you meant to say "much", I am too much of a $#@!&^% to debate with....."; corrrect?
