Clearly, there must be two different versions of the video circulating. The one I viewed indicates a completely stupid 'elder' who got exactly what she deserved. Kudos to the police officer. To preempt some anticipated commentary: (a) if it were my mother (beyond the embarrassment of her lying on TV) I would absolutely tell her to stay away from her grandkids as they do not need that as a model......pathetic. (b) she LIED on TV and now is nowhere to be seen.....huh. © if she would have complied this would not have happened.....pretty basic...follow instructions of law enforcement 101. (d) and to those wondering why did the police officer not use a different 'skill set' to subdue her, I guess there is a pretty basic out there that needs to be addressed by you.....<insert drumroll about here>......Why? While I do not find it funny that she lay on the ground in pain, I guess she asked for it and deserved it. I am simply not a fan of the thought that you 'respect your elders' unequivocally.......nope, simply just because someone is an older adult / senior citizen does not mean, defacto, they have earned anything. Oh, to support my case, what happened in DC earlier this week and what was his age? or what about the case in Ohio (nazi war criminal) earlier in the month or about the senior citizen crashing a car into a farmer's market killing a few people... the list is growing... older adults are not immune from being criminals, or mean, or needing to be held accountable........cased closed.

I recently had wings at the Sports Page in Sarasota....I ordered the 'hot', and they were marginally hot - like most, they are probably cautious on what 'hot' really should mean. However, the wings were very crispy and perfectly cooked. I have yet to find a city/state that I travel to that does NOT produce a very very good chicken wing. Nostaglia is great but reality suggests there are good wings to be had outside of Buffalo. On a side note, I actually think the original intent of the blue cheese as a side was to dip the wing in. So for all the 'authentic' die-hards, you may want to re-consider your position on that.

Tony Snow Tells It Like It Is

He seriously has no idea what he speaks of. Having lived in East Central Wisconsin, I can say with a lot of certainty, Milwaukee is in poor shape (quality of lake water, parks/beaches, general environment, jobs, and especially the SCHOOL system). Milwaukee is currently in a downward spiral. Facts? Citations? Read the local paper and then do the research. Start with the early June editions, that will really captivate you. -

Yes, that the 'real' and 'hardy' Bills fans are perpetual complainers that are only happy when complaining. It is no fun highlighting the fact we have (a) one of the best special teams in the NFL (b) one of the leagues best red zone quarterbacks as of late (b) our revamped offensive line is playing pretty solid football and makes drafting on OL (thankfully) less imperative (everyone think Mike Williams) © very few, if any 'high stakes' drafting needs; in fact, IMHO the only glaring needs on the team maybe limited to LB and a run stopping DL; certainly depth or marginal upgrades at some positions are ok but nothing is jumps out lately (d) have a pretty effective and strong running back tandem (e) a secondary that has the makings of being in the elite of the NFL (f) a core coaching staff that is quite strong and only in their first year here at Buffalo (sans April) (g) a real chance at finishing 8-8 which nobody seriously thought would happen. Bottom line, it is easy to complain and try to sound 'smart' then it is to see the positives. -
Yeah, the dolphins 12-1 record is real impressive under Mularkey While I hate pointing out the obvious, Mularkey kinda underperformed as the HC here. Hence the spirit of this thread. Are you saying Mularkey should have been demoted to our OC?

Absolutely one of the best books I have read for a while. Certainly makes one think about societal issues regarding either (or both) causal or correlational relationships otherwise overlooked in a whole new light. The book is humorous, informative, and educational. For those of us who spend a lot of time on dry statistical interpretation and application this was refreshing science.

There are two types of people, ones who think JP
IndyMark replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Am I the only one who chuckles yet at the exact same time is somewhat disturbed with the quickness to which some posters (while defending their position or previous post) type the following: " oh yeah, but why don't you get your buddies dick out of your mouth before typing next time". & a -
Seriously, if we can improve upon CV our OL is instantly upgraded to average. And that will help..... alot. We won. Why does it have to be perfect? Like I said and has been reiterated multiple times over the last 4 years on this board....Bills fans complain when they win - let's all come to grips with the reality that JP led us to a win. Hey, if you are going to pin a loss on him when he plays ok you sure as heck pin a win on him when he plays ok. Double standards ought not be allowed on this board.

Yes, thanks to Chris V, WM took a shot and got carted into the lockerroom. -

.....I am still waiting? Remember, Chris V. - RG - what is he still doing in the line up? Thought I must say he is talented, on one play he mimics a turnstile and the other a rag doll. Is our OL depth that bad the Chris V is our best option? -
Official Buffalo Bills VS Green Bay Packers thread
IndyMark replied to daquixers_is_back's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can someone remind me WTF is Chris V. doing in there? He is nothing more than a turnstile. A pretty good one at that, but nonetheless, the OL should block not spectate. So statistics lesson number 3,000 on this board; Chris V. is not only highly correlated to a pathetic offense he is causally linked to WM's injury. Yeah, I am a published researcher as well. -
This is not what being a Bills fan is about
IndyMark replied to duey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We actually agree on this issue more than disagree, but a few points worthy of note: (a) I have seen worse fights at a bar also or at underground fight clubs as well. But then again, those are not purported to be family friendly. Like, ugh, well an NFL game. (b) RARELY seen fights in the stands? Huh, I wonder why if fighting is so rare in the stands during a game, that RWS would emply 700 yellow jacketed security who suddenly become real popular and real active from late third quarter to the end of the game. Ask anyone of them and I am sure the words RARELY and FIGHTS and RWS are not uttered in the same breath. © Parking lot violence even more rare? Geesh, I guess the mounted police that patrol the lots are just good will ambassadors? (d) Taking kids to a game - there is no way the drunk 20 something crowd would simmer down upon looking at my kids after a vulgar laced diatribe. Yet, I would predict they would keep it up all game, but add a "sorry man" after each one. Kind of like a consistent pardon. Are you saying their behavior would change upon seeing children? Because in a similar conversation on this forum last year, some people told me RWS was not for kids? So which is it? Bottom line, RWS is a microcosm of absolutely nothing aside from maybe the community it resides in. It is certainly not representative of all NFL stadiums game day, that you can be sure. -
This is not what being a Bills fan is about
IndyMark replied to duey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, and overall I like it. I also have a feeling that in the future, the economy of WNY will pick up (although I have no idea how). Nice people and good food are at least a start. 821860[/snapback] ......let's hope so; seriously, it would be great for WNY to emerge into a progressive region that is not only proud of what is has been, but proud of what it is becoming. Plus, less pessimistice would be helpful. Good food and nice people are always solid foundations; especially the people part. -

IndyMark replied to duey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for making an unrelated, and unfortunately, lame response. I especially like how you only highlight my negative response and omit the others. Nice. By the way, my Hoosier days are long gone. Yet, Gary is to Indiana as NYC is to NY state. It should be it's own state or at the least merge with Illinois. Anyway, back on point and to remind you: (a) conversation was on NFL games (b) I never said any of the other states do not have crime, only the other states' / cities NFL stadiums are not like RWS. © Basically, if the environment of RWS is reflective of the population to which the stadium exists, then WNY is in deep trouble. It would be curious to argue otherwise. Generalization? Somewhat, but remember Bill I was born and raised in WNY. I know what I left and what I come back to every year. Again, that is exactly why I left. Have you noticied the economy of WNY? The political climate? The converstations of Casino's vs No Casino's? - downtown or where ever? Speaking with some of my family and friends about those issues and others is downright depressing. I know why they don't move, some can't - others could. It is a love/hate thing I guess. The overall ethos of WNY is very characteristic and somwhat unique. No? -

As has been mentioned by some, this story is completely with in the realm of possibility. Bar none. Nothing left unsaid. I have seen enough games at the Ralph over the last 5 seasons to absolutely confirm that random acts of violence occur. Whomever said they had never seen a fight must NEVER EVER have been to RWS. What a joke. I have seen probably 3 fights a game IN the stadium and much worse OUTSIDE the stadium each and every visit. Unfortunately, crowd behavior at RWS is pretty predictable. Liqour plus ignorance plus immature losers pretty much equals dumb behavior each and every time. Let's hope the guy got a few good shots in and rattled a few of the wonderlics. This really is not even arguable. Case in point....here in this thread the argument has emerged that "there HAS to be more to the story." Really. Why? To preempt any witty retorts. I still would never bring my children back to RWS. Sad but true. Not much to be proud of. Unless, those in WNY are proud of the super smart yellings of "suck my *ick" or "!@#$ !@#$" over and over and over and over and over and over......... Why do I go? One, yearly family / friend tradition.....making the trek back to WNY. Second, I like to be reminded why I left WNY. And, not all stadiums mimick this. I have been to games (more than once in each spot) in Green Bay, San Diego, Indianapolis, and Tennessee and the atmosphere is markedly different than RWS. Not even remotely comparable. -
Ironically, up until about 5 years ago I almost never travelled by plane. Last year alone, I traveled by air 26 out of 52 weeks. Lessons learned: (a) If someone is wearing a hip sack, a polo shirt, and looks 10 months pregnant, they are going to Las Vegas from <insert midwestern city here - Columbus, Des Moines, Indianapolis, St. Louis, etc> . (b) There are a ridiculously high number of travellers who think if their flight is cancelled due to poor weather they should be entitled to a free night at a Hotel at the expense of the airline; in addition, they let everyone know about it within a two block radius. ©The number of people who start drinking liqour at or before 9:00 am is striking. I am not judging, I am just sayin'. (d) I am still not sure how the shoe shiners stay in business. (e) TSA attracts really interesting 'personalities' that work for them. Again, not being condescending - I am just stating the facts. (f) Pilots have a really witty sense of humor. (g) Flight attendants have to be underpaid. (h) NYC taxi drivers and Orange County super shuttle drivers must be trained at the same NASCAR training facility (slight contact during a lane change is ok). (i) All planes should pipe in some type of nice scent to balance out the skank of people mixed with the high octane fuel. Airliners just plain stink by default. (j) It is amusing that the simply social acts of making eye contact and small talk are both super high risk while, ironically, sitting real close to others in the normal course of travel (as in on the airplane or in a really crowded terminal). (h) It is amazing how boredom makes sudko seem interesting and challenging. (i) People watching and being engrossed in a good book make waiting at an airport almost bearable. (j) I need to own a long-term parking lot near an airport.

Actually, in the spirit of the negative nancies of this board who whine when we win, I believe the consensus would be to trade JP to Green Bay for an "conditional pick" THEN pick this CB up off waivers. Somehow we gotta dump JP...right everyone?
-
Agreed. He got lucky he did not get suspended the rest of the season. 5 games w/o pay is way too light. 8 games minimum - the rest of the season would have been better. Remember, it took over 30 stitches to close the wound.

What would possibly entice a fane to leave early?
IndyMark replied to MDyl7993's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Catch a flight? - Am I the first to highlight this fact to all the great conclusionists of this thread. Some people travel across time zones to watch their beloved Bills multiple times a year. That isn't "fan enough" for you? Interesting. I think I am as much of a fan for taking a flight to a Bills game (you figure the cost time and money wise) and then leaving early to catch a flight, as a local who "stays to the end". But why bring clarity and logic into this thread? Continue on with the generalizations and self grandizing.
