You sir (I am being serious) should be commended by this post. I admire it wholeheartedly. Please know, NoJustice, I am 100% serious. Thank you. I know you do not know me, but from what I have viewed here over the years posters (probably me as well) typically do not do things like you just did ("own" a post). I am impressed and a bit humbled, yet, I know you may not care as we do not share a view on the topic....but I do want you to know I respect and admire you and this post. Thanks.

See, this is the beauty of continued banter of this type......we are more near agreement than not......I agree this kid had a sick f&*king.......and his actions were clearly below human standard.......now, how much do we need to talk about religion - that is probably our difference......I say none, others disagree. But if we do not have this interaction, too much gets left unsaid......and then it becomes rinse and repeat in perpituity. At least now, we have a good idea of what we have in common and what we don't.......with the hope we can drill down to reasons of human behavior so acts like this are not repeated (or compressed). If we simply default to the 'Devil' or "God's will" we will never be able to change.....understand....whatever.....yet, if you look at reality then we at least have a chance.......

Really? You are going there? .....the Devil did this? So, let me get this straight, you believe in God, defacto then, then there has to be a Devil? Quick question, Einstein, so, where was God during this massacre????? .....or before, when this mentally ill / nutjob kid was planning this? Oh, it must have been God's will then, right? You must be a relative of Richard Mourdock. That is one interesting "God" you believe in......... Please. Go. Away.

Congratulations on posting quite possibly the most irrelevant post of this thread; the good news, it was far from the dumbest. But your point is.....well..... pointless - even to the quote you referenced. ......ill-timed and irrelevant; given the absolute and utter tragedy that is central to this thread it is dumbfounding to try and even ascertain a point to this......beyond provoking a response; to that, "well done" - I responded. I hope you are not disillusioned into thinking you possess any overview on this topic (by your thread) because you do not; clearly.

Not sure I postulated a stance on public schools…..simply highlighting the fact that generalizations are not contributory toward much of anything. Plus, with being addressed as “a—hole” indicates to me that I have much less invested in this forum and airing my views than others…..the juice, for me, is not worth the squeeze….so please chalk this up as a “win” and running off another moderate. For the record, I love the competition that private schools offer that is not otherwise evident…..in the hopes it forces all educational systems to educate our children in the most effective way as the enter our society and the global economy. Simple as that – I do not want to see public schools fail simply because they are public (or private simply because they are private).....schooling is too important to hold either simpleton view. I can also wrap my eyes around the fact there are terrific public schools and private schools and there are pathetic public and private schools……so to overstate or generalize does not allow the real issues to be discussed. Really? I addressed you in the same fashion? Accept my apologies, I did not realize I did. -

Not sure that is the smartest way to start a post......that is a bit revealing of yourself. Moreover, I will let your words speak for themselves. -

Yes, because if I defend public schools I must be a part of one....your logic is impressive. Yep, you win....no way I can engage in a debate with you. Well done. -

I would have no issue with my middle school daughter engaging in civil debate, similarly; the issue is with the commonplace overgeneralizations of good (private) versus evil (public) in this forum. It is just amazing that the discourse found here really has not evolved past that of, well, the level expected of upper elementary students. Almost like anything 'private' is a blessing from above against the rooted evil of anything deemed 'public'......because, again, nothing bad has ever occured within the confines of the typical 'private' space of life..... The teacher was nutty, plain and simple....yet, to generalize that to everyone in that public sphere is like that is comical and demonstrates the mouth-breathing aptitude of those trying to justify that logic. Perhaps we should cover the assumptions to be gleaned from an N of 1? Yet, I believe there are a few pre-reqs needed before some could handle that content.
