  1. Hope everyone’s enjoying their Saturday night! I’m sure some of you are watching this LSU-Georgia game as well. Not particularly close so far, but two very talented teams loaded with NFL prospects and I can’t help but imagine a few of them in Bills jerseys.

Give me any of Justin Jefferson (WR-LSU #2), Clyde Edwards-Helaire (RB-LSU #22) and Rashard Lawrence (DT-LSU #90) and I will be very happy on draft night. Jefferson looks so athletic, separates easily, and has huge YAC ability. Edwards-Helaire is so impressive as a receiver out of the backfield and runs with the power of a back who weighs 20-30 more lbs than he does. And Lawrence is so strong against the run and has a endless motor.

Know it’s a bit early for draft threads, but it’s fun to think about how this team could get even better in the coming months. Anyone else jumping off the screen for you guys that might be a fit for our Bills? Cheers!

  2. My initial reaction was to be disappointed that we didn’t get a shot at signing this kid in FA. However, think his play has plateaued a bit to the point where he is certainly not worth that money (especially from a playmaking standpoint as another poster mentioned above).

Very happy with Edmunds and Milano. Let’s draft 1-2 more and also see what we have in Vosean next year

"A HR to me this offseason would be improving the OL first and then the secondary. This isn't going to be a quick fix. I expect it to take a couple of years before the Jets can be a Super Bowl contender. Fix the OL and that will help Darnold and Bell which will help us become more competitive. Like everyone else I am tired of 4-12, 5-11 type of seasons. If the Bills can turn it around then why can't the Jets."

Saw this post on Gang Green, the Jets version of TBD, after the Jets were beat down by the winless Bengals.  This sounds familiar.  The Bills were in the same boat last off season with sub-par O-line play.  Fortunately, Beane made it a priority to address it during the off season and he has turned a team weakness into a strength and that has allowed Allen to continue to develop. Darnold has not been as lucky.  He is getting hammered in the pocket and running for his life seemingly every snap.  He's going to end up just like Josh Rosen.

From a selfish Bills point of view I hope the Jet's management continues to bring in the shiny toys like Le'veon Bell this off season and continues to neglect the O-line.  It's amazing to me that ordinary fans like the Jet's poster above has more insight on how to build a successful football team than the "experts" in the front office of these football franchises. A flashy RB is nice but the O-Line is the engine of any offense.  If you have no O-line, nothing else really matters.  Investing in a "franchise QB" like Darnold and then not making any moves to shore up the bad O-line in front of him is football GM malpractice.   Looking at these Jets fans in purgatory reminds me how lucky we are to finally have a front office that seems to get it, that has a plan, and is systematically working the plan.

Agree 100%. Think any reasonable person could have seen this coming which says a lot about the Jets former front office. Regardless of what side of the 'pay vs don't pay RBs' debate you are on, shelling out big bucks for Bell never made sense behind that terrible O-line.

Going back to the offseason, the top two Centers available were Morse and Matt Paradis (in some order) and most people expected one of them to sign with the Jets given their huge need and cap space. Not sure how Paradis has played in Carolina, but Morse (although slightly overpaid) has been a massive upgrade over Groy who is out of the league.

Our front office has their priorities straight and let's hope our division rivals don't learn their lessons. Go Bills, excited for this game tomorrow!

  4. More optimism from the local and national reporters...Jay Skurski (Buffalo News) picked us to win 24-21 this morning.

    A few thoughts:

    1) A lot has been said this week about defenses not having 'cracked the code' on the Ravens' offense yet. Baltimore has played a tough schedule, but I'd argue that no team has the combination of an elite secondary, strong defensive coaching, and versatile/athletic LBs like Edmunds and Milano like our Bills do.

Edmunds, with his speed and length, could be a great equalizer if he brings his A game and both LBs have the ability to cover the multiple TE looks that the Ravens depend on. I'd like to see us play 5 down lineman (Hughes-Oliver-Star-Phillips-Lawson with Lorax rotating in on passing downs) and bring Poyer down into the box to help vs the run. Fade Hyde towards Hollywood Brown's side of the field to protect against double moves and possibly give Siran Neal more snaps at slot given his strength vs the run.

    2) Baltimore's weakness on defense is runs off tackle. Seems like a good week to bring back the jet sweeps/misdirection plays and force their guys to make plays in space. The more touches for Singletary and to some degree McKenzie/Foster in the run game, the better for this match up.

    3) If there was ever a game where Roberts was going to break one...we're due!

    Happy Friday and Go Bills!

Found this random Mock draft and I wouldn't hate it one bit.

Shenault may not be my first choice, but I can see Daboll falling in love with his versatility.

Harris in the 4th would be a great compliment for Motor.

@whatdrought Not only do you have one of the best avatars on this board but I find myself nodding along with 99% of your posts.

No different here, like the idea of a WR in the first (or edge rusher if the value is there) but unsure about Shenault. PAC-12 is kind of a soft conference in terms of good pass defenses as far as I can tell and I believe he has also been very injury prone.

We spoke about Henry Ruggs III last week...I’m probably behind on this but have you seen his chase down and tackle on INT Vs Tennessee back in October? Well I’m officially on board, I’d even be open to trading up into the high teens to get him if we have to.

Harris is our ideal complement to Motor, would grab him in the third probably (but worried he could go higher after the combine). Another poster recommended signing Derrick Henry earlier in this thread, but Harris probably has his ceiling, is a better receiving option out of the gate, and would be a heck of a lot cheaper.

Here’s the play by Ruggs I mentioned. Anyone who hasn’t seen this yet, skip to 1:24 and prepare to be shocked. Won’t show up on the stat sheet but I had to rewatch this 7-8 times and I genuinely don’t know if I’ve ever seen anyone move this fast on a football field before.

Was previously in favor of adding a bigger/taller WR to our group but speed kills and why not add to our group of Smurfs? Go Bills!

I'd love us to go after Shaq Thompson, I think he's terribly miscast in that weird multiple front Carolina has been using. He'd make our trio Milano, Edmunds, and Thompson. He excels in coverage and hes been solid for Carolina otherwise. Knows the system plus we'd have the funds to get him out of Carolina

This hasn’t been talked about enough! Would love to see Thompson in a Bills uniform.

Has been misused as you pointed out so potential buy low value most likely!

  7. Legitimately believe that Baltimore, Seattle, Green Bay, Dallas, and Kansas City are the only teams that wouldn't make that trade (considering that the Pats, Saints, etc. who have great QBs that are older would make this trade for the future).

Potential counts for a lot in this league and now that he has improved his accuracy so much, he's matching his insane physical traits and intangibles with production.

    5-1 on road soooooo...

Need to get that 10th win first but as you pointed out, our away record bodes very well for a potential playoff run...KC and Houston are looking vulnerable after we manhandled the Cowboys' #1 offense and a legit MVP candidate in Dak.

REALLY wouldn't mind it if the Titans stayed hot and won that division either...a playoff game in Nashville might as well be a home game in Buffalo. Imagine the legions of BillsMafia that would travel to see us get some revenge/closure for the Music City Miracle  (Robbery). ?

I think the turning point was Oliver’s strip sack.  Dallas sort of had the momentum after Stars INT with us going backwards on offense and then the missed FG.

Oliver put some stank on Frederick and gave  us the ball back...then scored a TD.

I think I remember this right.  I had a special cookie and a few Weihenstephaner beers.  I couldn’t figure how to untie my shoe so I did the the big toe in the heel and kick it off.  My show went flying and knocked over one of the empty beer bottles shattering it.  It’s going to suck in the morning having to clean it up.

This! As mentioned above, Dallas still had some momentum after we wasted the Star INT and our kicking woes.

Absolutely game-changing play by our #1 pick which gave us the momentum and confidence for the rest of the game. Dallas never recovered...suddenly their O-line didn't seem so impossible to beat and our defense played lights out after that.

Had to remind myself this wasn't all a dream this morning...go Bills!
