  1. Yes sir, seems to be the way other teams have done these scrimmages as well. Sounds like both the first team offense and defense flat out dominated which is somewhat expected but definitely not a given and great to see.
  2. Loving this news about #17 bossing it especially compared with news of the infamous Jets scrimmage yesterday. Also happens to be 17 days until the Jets game...come on Goodell, let's move the game up to tomorrow!
  3. True! Except that Diggs stood up the way that human beings usually do instead of the 'I'm a gravity-defying alien who can't catch a football' Zay Jones method lol
  4. Thanks for posting this @ColoradoBills, I hadn't seen this elsewhere! Man this front office just continues to get me through these strange times we're living in! Increasing the cap hit in 2020 when we have the extra room makes too much sense and correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like the contract is 4 yrs/$58.3 million which is $1.7 less than initially reported. Every little bit helps, keep it going Beane!
  5. Add more highlights/news about Ford and Darryl Williams forming a fearsome duo on the right side of the O-line to Dan's top three and we are really cooking. Must have been the 90s since the last time the Bills had a good RG/RT, a strong WR corps, and a QB who could hit the deep ball all at once. These 19 days until the opener can't come fast enough...
  6. Along with AJ Epenesa and Donovan Peoples-Jones, Weaver was the other prospect who fell significantly in the draft that I was most surprised about. He had some legit 1st round buzz for a while, but I think he fell victim to some of the same combine pitfalls that got AJ. Not a bendy/twitchy athletic type at all, but a super productive college pass rusher with really good technique and football IQ. Who knows what kind of player he becomes in the pros, but a good upside move for the Browns and happy to see the Dolphins lose him. Wonder if Beane put in a claim or at least thought about it? We don't really have any roster spots to spare but Hughes/Addison etc ain't getting any younger...
  7. I figured that was probably the case but couldn't pass up the opportunity lol. Your name is maybe more relevant now than ever, onwards and upwards with McBeane! Go Bills brother!
  8. Also does this leave Winters as possible trade bait (there was reportedly a lot of interest after the Jets released him) or as a really strong depth piece on our O-line? I think the Bills could get a 5th rounder for Winters if they wanted given his talent/contract, but if he's on board with starting the season as a bench player, Winters as the next man up is a huge asset and a testament to the depth Beane has built in that room. I'd keep him ahead of a season where we are cautiously optimistic about the division title and a playoff run.
  9. Agreed, Williams was asked to play too many positions last year and was still recovering from injury. He used to be an excellent player and hopefully will regain that form. If the Bills have decided Ford is best at Guard, I hope they keep him there and let him get comfortable at the position (no more flip-flopping between OG and OT). On a side note, given the recent stadium situation, aren't you contractually obligated to change your name to 'Bills Stadium' now? ?
  10. Having lived in Belfast, Northern Ireland for the past 5 years (along with my wife who is from Dublin), I can confirm this is still very much the case. Ordering a Black and Tan in a bar here would not be recommended. Besides, the Guinness here is the freshest/best in the world, wouldn't want to dilute it with anything. Slainte!
  11. Great news, has made my day. Amazing how far this organization has come under the leadership of McBeane in just a few years in both on-field results and reputation (see Josh Norman interview). Let today be Sean's day and then extend Beane tomorrow!
  12. Very excited about both of our rookie WRs and the unique skill sets they bring to our offense (Davis' size and vertical ability, Hodgins' size/agility/hands on down-and-distance routes). Loved the picks at the time and love them even more now. Our WR room being an actual strength of the team for the first time in over a decade should be a lot of fun.
  13. Nothing against Duke, I like his story and his work ethic, but he didn't always make the most of his opportunities on the field last season. If the camp competition between Duke and Hodgins is close at all, I'd rather have Hodgins on the team and bet on his potential. While his long speed isn't great (similar to Duke's I'd guess), Hodgins' agility drills at the combine were top of the class and his hands were considered the best by a lot of draft guys as well.
  14. Thanks ALF! The terms make me love this signing even more. Winters was rumored to have a big market with several teams interested. Good o-line talent is super hard to find in today's NFL and Winters is a good player who fought through injuries last year and played on a sub-par offense/in a terrible offensive scheme. Surprised we were able to sign him for a relatively cheap amount and almost break even after cutting Long. Some good news on a potentially scary opt-out day for Bills fans.
  15. Alright lads, T-10 hours until the opt-out deadline. Might see a flurry of names added today including Tre. Will be checking this thread about every 5 minutes lol, fingers crossed.
  16. Would be disappointed if Tre opted out, but could 100% understand his decision. Family comes first always. Other than Logan Ryan (who has been discussed a lot in a different thread and whose signing I would be in favor of regardless of Tre playing), are there any other good options available?
  17. Pretty significant news for the Bills. We play them again this year and I can see Denver being in that second tier of AFC teams with us/Pittsburgh this season (also could wind up against them in the playoffs). Is it safe to say James is/should be their best O-lineman when healthy*? Puts a bit of a damper on what most people predict will be a breakout offense.
  18. I know what you mean, but Ford is currently the only OT on the roster whose contract extends beyond this current season. I think we need to leave him at OT this season and see what we have, he improved a lot over the course of last season.
  19. Thanks for the reply, but I respectfully disagree. Given the overall strength of our defense and the talent at other positions, CB2 is definitely the weakest link. Not a catastrophe or anything but relative to the rest of our team. I agree that Wallace isn't a bad player and has some room to grow but he is very limited athletically. Norman is even slower and looked done the last couple years. While I'm optimistic our defensive scheme will showcase his strengths more, we don't know if he will bounce back. And Gaines is a great player...when healthy...which is never. You can guarantee that teams will continue to avoid Tre and target our CB2 a ton this year. Getting a player like Ryan would elevate our secondary and the whole defense to a new level.
  20. Yes to Ryan, absolutely not on Clowney. Massive injury risk, still more hype than production, plays a position we have great depth/talent at, and would cost way too much money. Upgrading our #2 CB position on the other hand is a smart move. That's the weak link in our defense at the moment (barring a huge comeback from Norman), still wishing we would have signed Chris Harris Jr. to be honest.
  21. Jachai Polite also says hello. The guy didn't even make it out of training camp ? That being said, I already rate Joe Douglas as a better GM than anyone they've had for the past decade. Thought their 2020 draft haul was impressive and didn't make too many 'Jets-ian' free agency errors beyond the George Fant deal.
  22. The Jets are a much more likely threat to get the #1 pick IMO and Douglas/Gase (if he is *hopefully* still there) didn't draft Darnold. Hoping Lawrence goes to Jacksonville or somewhere outside our division, but hey not really in our control. Let's go crush teams and win the AFC East convincingly.
  23. Think the assessment of Allen here is pretty fair. He was such a project entering the NFL and his development to this point has been awesome to watch. As others have said, I think it's reasonable to expect a jump to Tier 2 of this list for next year based on his potential and the increase in play-making talent around him. Anyone else surprised to see Watson in Tier 1? I don't think he belongs in the same list as Mahomes/Wilson/Rodgers/Brees. Top of Tier 2 sure, but I don't think he lives up to that Tier 1 checklist that was provided. Maybe I'm still a bit salty after our playoff loss, but I thought he looked very average and if not for those missed tackles on our part at the end (plus 4-5 other plays), it could have been a very different game. I'll be really interested to see how Watson performs without Nuk as well. Only other name I have an issue with is Carr ahead of Allen, Darnold, and Baker. I would put all of them ahead of Carr. I'm open to be convinced otherwise, but he's like the most uninspiring QB IMO (besides the obvious Trubisky/Kyle Allen/Petermans of the world).
  24. Agreed. Don't forget Zeke Elliott calling Allen a beast as well for whatever that's worth...players around the league clearly have a much higher opinion of JA than many of the national experts. You just don't see many QBs make plays like the hurdle of Anthony Barr, the 4th-and-1 play vs Dallas, etc. Up there for the 'Dirtiest Player in the NFL' superlative in my opinion (Burfict/Taylor Lewan/Myles Garrett are in the mix as well). Has a documented history of these types of plays against many teams, not just us. Would be interested to hear what any Jets fans on here have to say about him.
