  1. Sort of a weird poll, I mean the MVP would probably go to a defensive player . . . I'm hoping Peyton Manning has the best game of his life to retire on.
  2. Yep on of the best in the league. I hear he gives great speeches too.
  3. We've made the game safer if you only look at the rules and how they are enforced. The game is still more dangerous than it was, all you have to do is look at the injuries.
  4. So you've never gone to a game? Or bought a shirt? Preferred one tv package over another bc of football? It's not like they care that much either way, they can still make money on your interest.
  5. I'm not really sure I'm criticizing anyone. Businesses should try and make money, and governments should try and make the lives of their people better. I think both are doing that. But it does seem a little f#$%ed up.
  6. Sad truth is this is how many large corporations are run. Most large businesses that have something that local or state governments want (usually jobs) are able to extort unreal amounts of land, tax breaks, and subsidies to move their operations. A Boeing plant opened near where I live and it was incredible all the incentives they were given and how scared everyone was that they wouldn't open. Seen the same sort of thing with real estate developers too, so I guess there's lots of hooks these corporations use.
  7. I think this thread came into existence because he embarrassed himself with the national media, getting owned by Cam in the process, not because of anything he actually wrote or tweeted. Are we just not suppose to notice when he runs around acting like a giant DB?
  8. Bills break the bank and squeak out costly win.
  9. The legend of Roman? Fitz is definitely in the top 30 QBs in the league. Probably top 20. Nobodies satisfied with the 20th best QB who's well into his 30s but that doesn't mean he's not starting material. I wonder whether we would have made the playoffs if we had kept Fitz.
  10. Agreed. Especially with the condition of the tape and the dubious nature of its ownership. To play devil's advocate though if we go looking for another collectible of its rarity and notoriety we might consider T206 Honus Wagner which has sold from the high six digits to 2.8 mil.
  11. 1 season seems like a good over under.
  12. I know everyone who's involved in pro football must have some idea about how to evaluate talent but its really not Rex's job is it? What exactly would he be doing if he weren't in Hawaii? Seems like he just ended a long season and Whaley is just beginning his. I don't get the drama. The pro bowl could definitely be exactly where Rex is most useful.
  13. I can't tell whether your joking or not.
  14. I don't picture Marrone interviewing well. My guess is he gets mad at the interviewer every 3rd question.
  15. 6 years 90 mil, 60 guaranteed.
  16. I'm sort of assuming this is Peyton's last game, and if that's the case you're not alone. It would be great if he could find one last great game in himself. It would be a perfect end to a great career.
  17. Is that a royal "we"?
  18. I think it would be more likely for Ds to det better stoping them. Stats aren't logic, and stats can never be considered complete information in football. Logic?
  19. It seems hard to speculate with so little info. Mysterious circumstances seems the best phrase I've read. We really have no idea . . . we can only trust that the FO wouldn't resign him unless it was legit. They've indicated that they are interested (if the price is right) if that's genuine and not a final parting gift . . .
  20. Definitely! That's not much to take a chance with for how good he can be when healthy. If we do have to pay and I would hope we would at least we can kick the bill down the road a little.
  21. 1. It will have been a rough 4 years of disappointment and exceptionally bad luck, but we'll finally be turning the corner. 2. We'll have a brand new coach who's system is going to make all the difference after the last hacks bad calls and poor judgement. 3. We'll be quietly lamenting not using more resources trying to draft a QB, but really optimistic about our situation.
  22. I thought we offered the same thing the Saints did and Byrd just wanted to leave.
  23. Totally agree. I think all that stadium talk pre-purchase was for the confirmation process. We already have a stadium that suits our needs pretty well. Even if NY pays a decent percentage, I don't see how a new stadium could net them more.
